This version is difficult to remove from the head gear. I have to pull/twist on the soft plastic really hard and I know it is going to rip. I remove it daily to wash. My events per hour can often be as high as 9 (with a smiley face) or as low as 2. So while the cushion is comfortable I think I will be replacing it sooner than the last version. I don't like ResMed accessories are SO expensive! (Also the water chamber on the main machine leaks onto the heating plate every night so it is always wet and will/does rust. I have taken it back but nothing can be done). 65yo fit female 53Kilos non drinker.

I had been using these for nearly 18 months with great success. I am a stomach/side sleeper who is also fairly active moving around, and I was still able to sleep comfortably and maintain a good seal even as I changed positions. However, the recent changes to make these cushions quieter have made them much less effective. They are indeed quieter than the previous version. However, the softer plastic seems to shift and/or collapse on itself quite easily. I am waking up several times each night because the cushion has collapsed on itself and is interrupting airflow. I had hoped this was just because of a poor quality cushion on my first attempt with one of the updated versions. But my latest re-order has the same issues. The recent changes to make these cushions quieter have made them much less effective. They are more quiet than the previous version, however, the softer plastic seems to shift and/or collapse on itself quite easily causing me to wake up several times each night because the cushion has collapsed on itself and is interrupting airflow. The softer plastic makes it much more difficult to remove and replace the cushions for cleaning. I worry about weakening and tearing the material between the hard and soft connection on the cushion. The older/previous cushion model available as an option would be beneficial.

Switched to the N30i from an AirtouchN20. Very soft comfortable fit. Be sure not to make it too tight or it will cause abrasions on the side of your nose. The humidity from my humidifier can cause the cushion to get slick. I purchased some mask covers from Amazon and are going to give those a try.
My first CPAP mask had the N30i pillow. I tried to order another one but ordered the wrong one. I ordered P30. It has the pieces that go in your nostrils. I did not like it. It gave me anxiety/stress. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. The photo on the bottom is like my original mask. Much better fit for me.
This N30i Cushion doesn't have just air holes allowing the air to blow away from you as you are putting your nose covering N30i Cushion & your head strap on to breath as you sleep which increases the air pressure to over 15-25 PSI from 4 PSI. The new arrived N30i has a small cover over that part of the N30i which allowed me to N30i from totally presses to my nose to very lightly just outside my nose. Very good N30i.
This version with flexible material throughout does not keep a seal nearly as well as the earlier version that had hard plastic for the main body. It leaks because it basically folds in the middle and doesn't seal up under my nose like the old one does. I have used superglue to reconnect the flexible silicon part of the old mask back to the hard plastic where it had come apart in order to get more wear from it. I will keep this softer one as a backup, but I won't order any more of them. I am hoping ResMed will address this issue with a future redesign.
As a retired sleep tech and CPAP user the Resmed Airfit N30i was one of the most popular choices of patients and mine. I recently discovered the Resmed design team got a ridiculous idea to redesign the cushion for this mask by placing an air filter at the dissemination air flow port over the nose. I found this CPAP supply site displaying the ORIGINAL cushion design as being in stock. I ordered 2 only to have been shipped the updated cushion design. There was NO description that the product in stock was actually the NEW design and not the original as photo displayed. Very deceiving. DO NOT BUY!You will not be able to get adequate air with the new cushion design, your oxygen level will decrease and apnea worse. Tested with SP02 finger sensor.
As usual, you get something you like and use for years, somebody comes up with a grand idea to change it. It now has a filter to make it quieter, which it does. I've found that it also makes it harder to breathe. I've not had a good night's sleep a single night with the new version. I've got a couple of the old style left, but one they're gone, I'll be looking for something else.I would have recommended the previous version all day long, but sadly can't recommend the new one.
The old style N30i cradle nasal cushion had a hard plastic on the outside away from your face with a soft silicone next to your face. This kept the nasal cushion in place without leaks and made it very easy to remove the cushion for cleaning. Resmed "improved" the N30i cradle nasal cushion by making everything soft silicone except for an oval section in the center and at the connection points. This makes the cushion collapse against your nose, sealing off your nostril so that no air can get through, prone to leaks every time you change position, and almost impossible to remove for cleaning.
