Rokinon s Xeen 14mm T3.1 Lens for Canon EF Mountis built specifically for use as a cinema lens. It features an internal focus design so that the lens does not change size while focusing minimizing the appearance of breathing when changing focus. Each lens in the set is multi coated for good contrast glare prevention and color match to a factory standard allowing you to assemble a set over time with minimal color shift. This 14mm lens provides what is considered a very wide angle of view on full frame cameras and a tighter angle of view on smaller formats.

I have the Xeen 14 3.1, and the other 1.5 Xeens at 24, 35, and 50. Unbelievable image quality. The way the glass elements interact with light and how the highlights are treated, along with how bright the lenses are makes any of them awesome. Sharpness you can find in a lot of subpar lenses, but finding a lens that interacts with light in a good way is not so easy. Most lenses are horrible in dealing with shots straight into the sun, for instance. I had another cheaper canon 35mm prime (with variable ND on front) on my URSA 4.6k camera and had a shot of someone doing yoga on the beach facing the sun and the image was just kind of lackluster. I was confused, thought it should look better, and just switched to the Xeen and the difference was night and day. Amazing glass if youve got the money. I was going to purchase the CP2 lens series, but the Xeens have been more than incredible in what they do for a super reasonable price. Keep in mind that the 14mm will have a small amount of warping or fisheye effect. But the way it is on this lens isnt bad or too much. If you are shooting at most things, its my opinion that it makes those images even more appealing rather than weird or strange. If shooting lines or architecture, probably not the best lens for you. I have only spoken in high regards to this lens, never said anything bad about it, even though I saw someone elses comments on the 14mm which they thought wasnt as good as the other Xeens (probably right), but you wont really notice. I feel I can shoot at whatever aperature I choose and the Xeens are pretty dependable tone sharp across the board. The 14mm does have what I think is an inaccurate focus ringing you focus based on reading to the feet measurement on the ring. If you go by sight, youll be in better shape. For instance, i noticed if I set the ring at 6feet, and a subject is at 6ft, they will be slightly blurry. If I set to 4ft, the 6ft subject will be clear. If I set for about 10ft, the 15ft away subject will be clear. I havent done a test to make that official but this is how I work with the lens because of my past and still current experience of how this lens works. BUT!!! Keep this in mind, this is my GO TO lens for shooting towards the sun with fully closed aperture to get that glorious super sun ray look. Its pretty amazing.

Good, clean lenses that match. Had them for a few years and have had nothing but impressed clients. The fact that Duclos in LA sells and services these lenses should tell you a lot about their quality and overall industry acceptance. For the price, above excellent lens set.

This lens is superior to the previous Rokinon cine lens kit I owned. The Xeens optics are much cleaner and over all more crisp on the focus. The backgrounds have a beautiful depth to them. Short of upgrading to zeiss cine lenses these are the jam! amazing bang for your buck!
I own the full set of Xeens and this 14mm is great for when you need to go really wide. The Xeens easily compete with the CP.2s, the CN-Es and Xenons - they're great lenses, but exceptional when you consider they're quite a bit cheaper than the lenses they compete with. The 14mm is no exception, but with some issues. It's annoying that it's not the same length as the other Xeens, forcing you to adjust your matte box, etc. There's also a little distortion to image, causing straight vertical walls to look a little curved. The Xeens in general lean a little green, but this can easily be removed in color correction.
With these lenses you truly get more bang for the buck! They have a very rugged build quality, smooth lens rings and the image quality is really really decent. If you compare these to Summicron lenses they will of course show some flaws, but will also hold up surprisingly well! I would say all the well known high end lenses might be more than ten times as expensive, but definitely not ten times better... In fact, the differences are noticable, but rather marginal.
While these lenses do give some good images for the money, it's useless when the focus ring doesn't work. Ive had this set for less than 2 years. There is something loose inside the 35mm lens that rattles if you move it at all and the focus ring rotates but doesn't turn the elements. I contacted customer service and they said that it wouldn't be covered under warranty. There is not a mark on the lens, it's in pristine condition. One of the other lenses in the set also has something rattling in it but it still works as it should for now. Completely disappointed. Don't buy unless you are able to repair yourself because obviously you'll need to do that if this is the way they treat their customers.
Great money saving method of owning some wonderful lenses.
