Used this shoe to climb Kilimanjaro. Very light, stable and comfortable! Made my experience hiking up amazing. Shoes are so important and not once This shoe was on my mind hiking up. Just did not have to worry about it and was able to enjoy everything around me.

This is a great hiking boot! I hike in the summer and snowshoe in the winter (with good wool socks) and find these boots to be perfect for both activities. I'm normally a size 9, ordered a size 9 and found them to be a bit big. I kept them anyway but would have been better off ordering a 8.5. I more recently ordered a Salomon trail running shoe at 8.5 and they are perfect.

This hiking boot is extremely cute, the colors and materials compliment each other nicely and the quality is greater. Salomon hiking boots were recommended to me and I don?t doubt they?ll hold up well. The tread is pretty aggressive as well which will be good for different terrain.I read reviews elsewhere that stated they ran small (I usually wear a 6 but in some brands I need a 6.5) and narrow (i have an average width foot). I opted with a 6.5 due to the reviews and thicker hiking socks. When I put them on, they were larger than I expected. Even with SmartWool hiking socks, I was sliding around in the width and my heel was elevating when I walked. I exchanged them for a 6 which I think will be perfect. I?ll come back and edit my review after I take them to ... MoreThis hiking boot is extremely cute, the colors and materials compliment each other nicely and the quality is greater. I have been the wearer of Salomon walking boots and shoes for a number of years, so naturally I turned to the brand again when I had to replace my walking boots, however buying these boots was a big mistake. The foam support around the ankle is extremely hard and stiff and has caused great pain to my ankle bones. I have persevered hoping that the boots will ease off a little, but unfortunately I cannot walk any distance at all, as the discomfort is too high.Needless to say I am extremely disappointed that I have purchased an unwearable pair of boots.
Last year I purchased the darker color ones and they are simply amazing. Are they the lightest? No, but they provide great ankle support and are 100% waterproof and easy to wash. I am am avide backpackers and these boots saved my toes many times when I started dragging my feet. I do have bery flat feet, for additional comfort and arch support, I purchased superfeet insoles and they fit like a glove. If you can get your hands on this amazing deal, do it!
Got these on sale. I was stuck between getting the 8 or 8.5 as I have a wider foot. The 8 fit nicely but my toes are near the end so these are not as comfortable as I had hoped. However the 8.5 slipped around which would result in blisters so perhaps there was no winning on size. They are very sturdy around the ankle though which is what I needed. Haven't walked for more than 30 min at a time in these so not sure how they will hold up on a long hike.
I am a long time wearer of Salomon and needed to replace my Comet 3D Lady GTX boots (finally!). The orhtolite insole in my usual size of 8.5 did not match the arch of my foot in these, so I needed to size down to an 8.0. Perfect fit! I do love the generous amount of room in the toe box which I haven't found in any other brand. Good stability on uneven, frozen, snowy trails. No break-in period needed - these were comfortable out of the box.
Hiking boots have always hurt my toes or ankles after wearing them for a while, but these boots have been so comfortable. I haven't had any pain at all while wearing them. I specifically looked at Salomon as I read that they fit wide feet well and I found this to absolutely be the case. However, I did size down on these boots a half size, as they are known to run a bit large (pro tip, I took out the insole and stood with my foot on them to test the sizing). At first, I looked at the Salomon Quest 4 Boots which are quite popular, but these boots were cheaper and I couldn't find any major differences in the build of the boots (nor could the sales attendant who helped me). They do seem a bit lighter than the other boots, but I like that as I can also wear them to walk ... MoreHiking boots have always hurt my toes or ankles after wearing them for a while, but these boots have been so comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend these boots.
I love these boots. Initially i though they would be bulky and heavy but they are pretty comfortable. I did my first 6 hour grade 4 hike in them and i have nothing but praise for this shoe. Excellent grip for the steep climbs, secure lacing and although my feet were sore, it was more because of the solid non stop climbs . This shoe held up pretty good. Love it!
It’s been only 1 and half month I have been using these shoes. So I did 3 hikes and all the time I got pain in my ankle and swelling end of the day. Indeed, I read now in other reviews that I am not the only one suffering with this. Hence there is a problem with these shoes. Technically they are good but comfortable wise they are extremely painful. Waiting for Salomon to propose me a solution.
