Comfortable, durable, and a necessity for travel

I have taken these boots all over Greece now through ruins with terrible footing and stones so smooth you could slide from the top of the hill to the base. Throughout, my ankles have been strongly supported, I have been able to move without issue over most surfaces, and I have not had one blister despite hiking almost every day. They also look good enough that I feel comfortable wearing them most places.I would not trade these for the world and I will surely be bringing them with me everytime I travel. You never know when you will have need of shoes that keep you from rolling your ankles or tripping over uneven surfaces.

This hiking boot is extremely cute, the colors and materials compliment each other nicely and the quality is greater. Salomon hiking boots were recommended to me and I don?t doubt they?ll hold up well. The tread is pretty aggressive as well which will be good for different terrain.I read reviews elsewhere that stated they ran small (I usually wear a 6 but in some brands I need a 6.5) and narrow (i have an average width foot). I opted with a 6.5 due to the reviews and thicker hiking socks. When I put them on, they were larger than I expected. Even with SmartWool hiking socks, I was sliding around in the width and my heel was elevating when I walked. I exchanged them for a 6 which I think will be perfect. I?ll come back and edit my review after I take them to ... MoreThis hiking boot is extremely cute, the colors and materials compliment each other nicely and the quality is greater. Good looking shoe but not very durable

Fit is good, some sharp edges that hurt my ankle though. But I was disappointed to discover that after less than a month of mild use lace fixture on the top of my shoe simply broke off! (see picture). That's poor quality, never happened before with my previous Salomon hiking boots

Got me to Uhuro Peak!
10 February 2024

Used the shoes during a recent summit of Kilimanjaro (8-day Lemosho).Very stable. Excellent support of feet/ankles. Got half size larger to protect the toes during decent - kept all my toenails intact!Wore them with merino wool socks - no sweating, no smell, feet completely dry after encounters with water/mud/rain. Very comfortable. Donated the pair to a porter in need, but will buy another one. Highly recommended.

Great boots!
28 August 2024

So far so good, haven't yet used on a long hike but shorter hike and walks very comfortable, excellent grip on muddy slippery and steep ground. They are higher than normal and I was concerned they would cause pressure on my ankle where I have bone pins from previous surgery, but so far they have not caused any issues and seem to be softening up nicely. I also like that they are stronger leather around the front of the shoe as previous Salomons I have owned always start to wear and tear in this area first for me. I am a Size 41 normally but always go a size up for hiking and the 42 is perfect fit.

I love these boots!
5 May 2023

Last year I purchased the darker color ones and they are simply amazing. Are they the lightest? No, but they provide great ankle support and are 100% waterproof and easy to wash. I am am avide backpackers and these boots saved my toes many times when I started dragging my feet. I do have bery flat feet, for additional comfort and arch support, I purchased superfeet insoles and they fit like a glove. If you can get your hands on this amazing deal, do it!

OUCH!
7 August 2023

While these boots are sturdy and have a good grip, I agree with the other reviews that these boots HURT! I also have been a Salomon boots wearer for years. I backpack minimum of 150 miles per summer and usually have excellent experiences with Salomon boots. But these boots bruised both of my outer shins from being cut so high and stiff on my 22-mile Devil's Causeway Loop. In addition, as others have said, the bottom eyelet cut into the top of my right foot. Won't be wearing again...

I went a size up to make sure the fit was good, I'm a 5 but got a 6 as I wear thick socks, I would probably have got away with a 5.5 but they didn't have that size available as bought the boots on sale. They're waterproof and warm, I wore mine for a fair few hours first time and no rubbing, they could perhaps be a bit softer on the insole side of things, very good ankle and foot support and lightweight too. They do grip well on wet ground. Gave 4 stars as I think the insole could be softer for a bit more comfort.

These boots are amazing! Super comfortable waterproof hiking boots.

Hiking boots have always hurt my toes or ankles after wearing them for a while, but these boots have been so comfortable. I haven't had any pain at all while wearing them. I specifically looked at Salomon as I read that they fit wide feet well and I found this to absolutely be the case. However, I did size down on these boots a half size, as they are known to run a bit large (pro tip, I took out the insole and stood with my foot on them to test the sizing). At first, I looked at the Salomon Quest 4 Boots which are quite popular, but these boots were cheaper and I couldn't find any major differences in the build of the boots (nor could the sales attendant who helped me). They do seem a bit lighter than the other boots, but I like that as I can also wear them to walk ... MoreHiking boots have always hurt my toes or ankles after wearing them for a while, but these boots have been so comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend these boots.

Very happy with these boots!
23 October 2023

I bought these boots in May, but wanted to write a meaningful review so waited until I wore them a few months. First of all, they do fit large. I have a widish foot and usually wear a 9 or 9.5. I bought these in size 8 and they fit perfectly. They are higher around the ankle than previous hiking boots I’ve worn. The first few times I wore them, my ankles were bruised after about 7km. But either my ankles toughened up, or the cuffs softened up, because I don’t have that problem anymore. The higher cuffs also seem to keep out kick up. Wore them hiking the Babine Mountains the September long weekend. Long days of hiking, 8 to 10 hours, and my feet were fine. No blisters or even hot spots. Love these boots! Salomon is my brand.
