The XA Pro 3D v9 is as reliable as it is familiar to hiking, trail-running, mountain biking, and travelling enthusiasts. For its 20th birthday, the shoe has had an update in terms of comfort and durability, with a new asymmetrical design.

Shoe is as expected, as I've owned previous versions. The only concerns I'd raise are: 1) the shoe feels noticeably larger in a side-by-side comparison to other Salomon shoes of the same size, maybe by 1/2 of a size, 2) the asymmetric lacing system does apply some uneven pressure, specifically near the toe box, and 3) the time it takes to hide the "laces" in the lace hiding system can take longer than tying regular shoes.

I wanted a pair of trainers I could wear and not have to think about bringing spares if terrain changes throughout the day and I took the plunge and purchased these which I haven’t looked back since. The time it took to bedding in the shoes was no time at all compared to other brands I’ve had in the past. The Quality of the shoe is superb and I have no worries about it failing soon. Very comfortable when walking and running feet feel planted with every step I take.

Shoes are light and reacting well but....stitching of the shoes close to the heel generat huge friction and by so important blisters (I've never really been subject to blisters before).

I bought a pair of these in January 2022, and I have worn them almost every day since. They are incredibly comfortable, stable, and you can’t beat the waterproof upper in Michigan winters. I would buy these in every color if I could.
I bought these about a month ago to replace some ancient and worn SpeedCross 2's. I was amazed at how quickly I wore these in, just a few days and it was like I had always worn them.
I've had 4 different shoes from Salomon over the years, I think the first pair I got was back in 2011 or so? I've always loved them. I wear size 10 in EVERY shoe...except Salomon. I've always worn a size 10.5. At my mistake, I threw away the packaging for these shoes before I could even think about a return. The shoe looks GREAT (in blue) but after a day or so of wearing it, there's just too much movement. It's almost like it's a size 10 and 3/4? Is that a thing? It is now. Ha! I don't mean to bash but just being honest. It's my fault but pretty pricey mistake on my part. I wish I had tried on the size 10's but again, I've never worn that in Salomon. I might try & sell on FB marketplace. I dunno. Thicker socks in the summer are never fun. Just a bit disappointed but ... MoreI've had 4 different shoes from Salomon over the years, I think the first pair I got was back in 2011 or so? I've always loved them. This is my 5th pair of Salomons. I have been a loyal customer for any of their GTX series because of the performance, durability, and dependability. I wear them nearly every day to work around the farm and visit customers fields. I don't have to worry about my feet getting wet and they are always comfortable. I do wish there were a few more colors available as I don't use them for trail running but for everyday wear. However, they still get a 5 star rating. The practicality is just too real to be anything less than a 5 star after wearing them for years.
I bought an older version of these shoes about 5-6 years ago and loved them. These newer ones feel like they don’t have the same grip the earlier versions had. That said great toe protection, strong shoe, and still one of the better shoes for hiking out here in Colorado. Built well and will last many years.
I’m absolutely delighted with my new trail shoes, incredibly quality and attention to detail. The shoe is really supportive, super light with all the hallmarks of Salomon’s innovative design features and attention to detail.
I purchased this to replace the X-Ultra3 that they no longer make and I am Happy with the results. I always purchased the GTX for added strength. The color combination is one of the best.
