I purchased my Samsung - 55" Class CU8000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV on 12/30/2023 because my cat tried attacking something on the screen of my last Samsung TV.I would say for the price, it's better than many of the other options I looked at.Pros-• I especially like the solar powered remote• ability to cast my phone screen while playing my Xbox OR any of the other compatible ways to simulcast 2 apps from TV and another source at once.• ease of set up• a lot of new features I didn't have on my 2019 Samsung smart TV• 3 HDMI ports• lots and lots of apps to use or stream onCons-• Audio could be better - lacking depth, bass and an all around fullness to it? But it's not the worst, just took some getting used to.• processor seems as slow as my last TV, it can seem a little bogged down at times• not the biggest fan of the home screen and the functionality of editing and arranging it how you want, it's a bit cumbersome.• I don't see much difference when trying to reduce the brightness. I do miss the ability to lower the backlight so it's easier on my eyes for nighttime viewing.It's still a nice TV and I'm still happy with my purchase.

I purchased this 85-inch Samsung TV from BestBuy on Feb. 11th, 2023. This TV is mounted on my wall and has been that way since it's purchase. On June 11th, 2024, the TV began to have two 4-inch dark vertical lines on the screen. As of today June 13th, 2024, the TV will no longer power on and this was confirmed on multiple working outlets. I reached out to BestBuy where the TV was purchased from, and they advised me what I was expecting which was I did not have a service package with them. They then referred me to Samsung who advised me that my year warranty had expired. Samsung support referred me to a 3rd party repair company who quoted me a total of roughly $1600 for the service and repair of the TV. The woman on the phone explained that while the TV was under warranty, if the technician came out and found no fault with the TV, we would be charged. Obviously there is a problem with the TV otherwise I wouldnt have called!! What is the point of a warranty if we’re just going to be charged behind our backs anyway?I am extremely disappointed with this TV and Samsung in general. Suffice it to say, we will NEVER buy another Samsung product again, and will NEVER suggest anyone buy a Samsung product. We replaced our old TV with this one because the picture was starting to fade.
