On June 11th, 2024, the TV began to have two 4-inch dark vertical lines on the screen. As of today June 13th, 2024, the TV will no longer power on and this was confirmed on multiple working outlets. I reached out to BestBuy where the TV was purchased from, and they advised me what I was expecting which was I did not have a service package with them. They then referred me to Samsung who advised me that my year warranty had expired. To think that a TV I spent over $1300 on has already "crapped out" after 1 yr and 4 months (oddly right after the warranty period) is MIND BOGGLING as well as DISAPPOINTING. Add to that the repair service quoting a repair total of $1600, even worse when it clearly makes more sense to purchase another TV. I want to believe you provide a quality product Samsung, but this particular situation has TRULY left a horrible impression of the quality of your more expensive products.

He simply wants to open the app, turn on the show or sporting event that he wants to watch, and watch it. We’re really not asking a lot, but apparently when it comes to Samsung, this IS a lot to ask for.I called customer service for an explanation as to why this is happening and we went through the troubleshooting and that did not help. The woman on the phone explained that while the TV was under warranty, if the technician came out and found no fault with the TV, we would be charged. Obviously there is a problem with the TV otherwise I wouldnt have called!! What is the point of a warranty if we’re just going to be charged behind our backs anyway?I am extremely disappointed with this TV and Samsung in general. Suffice it to say, we will NEVER buy another Samsung product again, and will NEVER suggest anyone buy a Samsung product. We replaced our old TV with this one because the picture was starting to fade. It is the biggest mistake I’ve ever made and I’m absolutely disgusted. I plan on throwing this TV out immediately and buying a new one.I want to thank you for wasting my money and my time, but sure enough this will never happen again because we will never be purchasing another Samsung product again. You people should be ashamed of yourselves for manufacturing such a terrible TV.

Great bang for you buck TV

Something that doesn’t get talk about enough is Samsungs SolarCell remotes, gone are the days of switching the batteries from the closet remote when the batteries die. Now you can just leave it out in the natural light and the solar panels will charge it. It does have a USB-C port so if you’re in bind you can charge it via a UBC-C charger. The TV comes with 3 HDMI 60hz ports for your streaming devices or gaming consoles.Overall it’s a great bang for your buck 4K that is perfect for moving around the house or bringing it outside.

Great buy and upgrade from my old Sony Bravia
26 January 2024

I was in desperate need for replacing my old Sony Bravia that finally stopped working just after the Christmas time. My wife and I wanted to buy a Samsung based on its brand name for its great quality and reliability. I found a good deal on Best Buy. I went to check it out and was debating whether to get the model with Oled. After seeing it side-by-side, I didn’t see much of a difference so I decided to buy this model. I was surprised to see how easy it was to install and setting it up to my network to utilize its Smart features. I initially purchased the 43ā€ screen due to the size of my TV stand which is 43ā€ in width. However, it turned out that the overall screen size with only 22ā€ was a bit small for visibility. So I went back to the store to get the next size up, which is 50ā€ screen. Even though the screen width extends about 1/2ā€ more on each side of the TV stand, the extra 3ā€ in height made a big difference in visibility and paid extra $50 more, it was well worth it which we felt a much better fit and visibility. The remote has very basic functionality with very little few buttons which I like. I make use of installing my Amazon Firestick and also pair my Alexa as external speaker for my preference over using the TV internal speakers and watch local broadcast TV programs instead. Although it comes with voice control feature on the remote, I don’t use it at all. Few negative things about this TV are: 1) the HDMi/USB/Ethernet hookups behind the TV goes in sideways so plugging in/out are not as versatile. 2) internal storage is only 4 gbyte versus my Firestick 4k max has 16 gbyte so you cannot install as many apps. 3) running Internet on the TV is somewhat slow. 4) have not figured out how to connect my Alexa to the Tv as external speaker. What I like about this TV: 1) crystal clear viewing 2) easy and quick setup and versatile 3) remote functions are simple to use 4) adequate connections but little awkward to plug in/out 4) decent sound from the internal speakers 5) has few popular apps including Samsung Plus app but limited in how many apps you can add and can be installed on Tizen vs. Chrome or Google App Store.

Not a smart TV.

I purchased this Samsung TV recently with the HW 550B sound bar. This is the worse TV I purchased in a long time. I had a lot of trouble with the user interface. The default settings are terrible. The first use of it was viewing a 4K series on Disney Plus. The visual quality was noisy, low contrast, off-color, and it looked worse than the lowest quality DVD. Ever since then I have been working with the picture settings, and when I get it somewhat presentable, the TV changes it, and I have to start all over again. There is no way to save custom settings. Also, the settings should change when switching from Game mode to Media mode, but this would not always happen and when I try to fix it, there would be several settings greyed out that I could not access. Also, the settings should change when switching from Game mode to Media mode, but this would not always happen and when I try to fix it, there would be several settings greyed out that I could not access. The remote is also a problem. It relies on a toggle switch to change volume level. But this same toggle switch is also used to mute the audio by pressing down on it. So every time I want to raise and lower the volume, I put a little pressure on the switch and it mutes the audio instead. Subtitles automatically come on and it is difficult to find how to select it to turn them off. And there is no setting I can find to make subtitles stay off as a default. With the sound bar, there is a slight out-of-sync problem between audio and visual. This problem is much worse when using a bluetooth wireless headset. I could not find a way to fix this. Until Samsung has better quality control, I am not purchasing anything else from them, and I will not recommend buying this TV.

SamSUNG Me a Beautiful TV Song
27 March 2024

I'm a man of few words and yet this TV has me vocalizing endless paragraphs of its superior superb styles on a single simple screen. The specifications are unique and does not even come close in comparison to my LG TV if I being completely honest. I wish everyone searching for that one affordable TV that goes above and beyond could do themselves a favor and make the smart choice in selecting a Samsung as it continues to be life-changing for me which as a consumer I feel it's only right to share. So, if SamSUNG you a song while reading this. Terrible For Sports!!
31 December 2023

I preface this by saying I am a samsung fanboy and i am decked out in thier watches phones ect so naturally when it came time for a new tv i picked this on an impulse buy christmas eve, it looked "close enough" in demo mode to the higher end ones and honestly i cheaped out bc i just spent soo much money on gifts ect already.HUGE mistake, we got it hooked up just in time for TNF and it looked much worst than the 7 plus year old vizio my wife got on a black friday special, like shockily worse. The reason primarily is it is 60 refresh rate!! i looked it up and even the old vizio bargin tv from a long ago was running 120 to my amazement. The 60 refresh rate makes everything look soo choppy and its so bad my daughter said watching it was making her sick.I did a ton ...Ā MoreI preface this by saying I am a samsung fanboy and i am decked out in thier watches phones ect so naturally when it came time for a new tv i picked this on an impulse buy christmas eve, it looked "close enough" in demo mode to the higher end ones and honestly i cheaped out bc i just spent soo much money on gifts ect already.HUGE mistake, we got it hooked up just in time for TNF and it looked much worst than the 7 plus year old vizio my wife got on a black friday special, like shockily worse. The reason primarily is it is 60 refresh rate!! i looked it up and even the old vizio bargin tv from a long ago was running 120 to my amazement. You guys are the best and honestly i feel bad bc alot of this was my fault for not doing alot of research first. I guess it helped that i bought a much more expensive tv in exchange. In summary id stay away from this tv unless maybe you only watch the news or something with not alot of action but even then the remote is terrible and so is tizen so id just stay away all together.

This product is let down by the little things

We bought a CU8000 to replace our 3 yr old TU8000, which had suddenly gone faulty. Side note: Samsung did eventually agree to pay for the repair of our old TV, even though it was out of warranty. Thanks Samsung. The CU8000 is basically the current version of our old TU8000 so we were expecting a similar experience; unfortunately there are a few little things in the ā€˜updated’ model which are backward steps.1) the remote is now tiny, very easy to lose and harder to operate as everything is smaller and harder to hold and push the buttons at the same time. It also uses a rechargeable battery instead of normal dry cell batteries. Might be good for the environment but what do you do when it goes flat, wait until it recharges. It also uses a rechargeable battery instead of normal dry cell batteries. Might be good for the environment but what do you do when it goes flat, wait until it recharges. At least with the old style you could just load fresh batteries and keep going. Also what happens after 5 yrs when the internal battery is stuffed, a lot of consumers would be wanting to keep their TV for more than 5 yrs. Buy a new remote?, probably not available by then. The performance of the remote is also quite poor. Unless you point it at the right spot on the TV it doesn’t work, the old remote would work if pointed anywhere in the room.2) Someone in their wisdom decided to change the operation of the Mute so that when you unmute the speaker, the sound fades up. Using the internal TV speakers this occurs over about 1.5 seconds meaning that you sometimes miss the first fews words. What is really annoying is when using the arcHDMI with a Soundbar, the fade back takes about 3 seconds which means that you always miss the start of what is said. As a result of this we can no longer use our soundbar and resort to the lower quality internal speakers. I have had a lengthy back and forth with Samsung about this but they refused to acknowledge the issue and stopped contacting me.

Worst picture and sound TV I ever had in my life.
16 February 2024

Just received this yesterday as a replacement for my Samsung TU8000 that crapped out at the 3 year mark. This TV (CU8000) is inferior in almost every way. 1.) picture quality is HORRIBLE unless you are getting from a 4K source (such as streaming or direct from a 4K Blu Ray player. I use antenna, as always, and ALL previous 1080p and 4K TVs gave a good picture. (My favorite is one that is not mad anymore.. my 15 year old Sharp Aquos Quattron 1080p is awesome). Also, people's faces often have an orange glow to them, which sucks as well even after adjusting the settings manually to try to eliminate it. ; 2.) Sound quality sucks on this TV. No other way to describe it. No other way to describe it. The remote control has a built in rechargeable battery, rather than replaceable "AAA" batteries, so when the battery craps out, I suppose you have to purchase a new Samsung remote control. That being said, the TV will probably crap out before the rechargeable battery in the remote control. Worst TV I ever had in my entire life. I will probably return it and get a smaller sized 1080p generic named TV. The TV is supposed to upscale to near 4K, and my local TV antenna stations broadcast in 720p or 1080i and look AWEFUL. Previous TVs had no problems with it and had a good picture. Not this one. Avoid.
