For $200 this is a phantastic phone. Bought this as a temporary while my S21 ultra is in the shop. It's snappy online, can game, and has a nice size screen. The ONLY pet peeve I have is that it's like holding a brick. The sides are flat, not curved and sleek like the previous A13, and it's also heavier. I'm happy with this phone, priced right for the options you get...like a head phone jack. I didn't do a comparison between my S21, because there's no comparison to be had, the S21 ultra is leagues ahead of the A14, including the $1200 I paid for it.

Amazing phone for the price. I had this phone replace my Galaxy A13 (not 5G) and got this as a replacement. The phone is super fast, responsive, and has a great screen. I am shocked how good this phone is for the price. It is incredible to get such a good product for such a reasonable price. I am super happy! It came with 64 GB storage but I also have a micro SD card with 500 GB and have plenty of space on it. I save a lot of the stuff on the the SD card. Overall so happy! Thank you Samsung!!!

If I haven't activated the cell phone nor opened up packaging for the charger, etc, then there shouldn't be any issues with exchanging the cell for a better version of a Samsung Galaxy.Once I had time to play around with the phone & set it up to my preferences, I let the phone sit fully charged to test the battery life. Mind you, there was no installed apps by my doing, nor did I have any motion type of themes, icons, etc put on the display, & I set everything possible to save battery consumption. The Samsung Galaxy A20 packaging states that the standby battery life is about 13 days.... That is absolute lies! Straight out of the box, fully charged, & settings to save the battery consumption, & the battery died within 2 days of not touching the phone. There were no notifications & the device care info showed that nothing was causing the battery to drain to warrant it from completely shutting down because of the battery going dead.I can only imagine how horrible the battery would be if I activated the phone, actually installed apps, & used the phone regularly! It was my bad for not testing this cell as soon as I bought it, but if I haven't activated the cell phone then I should be able to return or exchange it within the store or online within 30 days, not 14 days! Obviously there's something not right with the phone battery straight out of the new box & either Walmart or Straight Talk themselves need to address this. It's not Samsung's issue even though it technically is.

Like most Android phones, it has too many settings and comes with a lot of bloatware. If you're not used to Android phones, the settings are not intuitive and it's a hassle at first to try to get everything sorted out.FYI the phone has WiFi Calling. That allows you to just connect to a WiFi service and log on to any of the calling apps above.Lastly, don't expect Best Buy sales people to be even remotely knowledgeable about the products they sell. Do your own research, read the product descriptions on the manufacturer sites and ask around on help forums like Reddit. Then go to a store or order the product you want.

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G (64GB) Unlocked order to product arriving fast/on time and intact was great. I think the key is when buying such phones to reserch and decide what a person wants and expectations. But in the case the main pro is newer phone and aspects over the A13 like screen, comes with Andriod 13 therefore allowing for addition upgrade, longer security updates, audio jack, etc. In my case I perfer ridged edges for screen protecting and weight. Keep in mind it only comes with phone & usb cable. And as one speaker like many others. Hence volune for some might be limited. Hence Blutooth/wireless for additional speaker/ear buds/or other means like vehicle. Also additional storage can be added. And abilty to use with various cell carriers. Hence after installing sim and boot for first time able to access the carrier network, In my case the experience worked great so far. From order to arrival, to product not being damged. To my expectations for the phone and my plan to use it. And hopefully long term use. Since everyone elses might be different. Like anything these days. Indivduals will need to personalize their phone. Hoped this helps someone.

Good, affordable entry-level Android for everyday

Having spent the last two weeks on an S22+ I can say there are significant differences between the "A" line and "S" line. Everything the A14 does it does slower than the S galaxy line. Start-up is slower, opening apps is slower, scrolling speed, everything! The A14 lags a bit on every reaction and it becomes very noticeable and almost annoying when coming from a higher end Galaxy. The A14 display is average and is no way near as crisp as the Super Amoled screen of the higher end galaxies. The phone has a cheaper plastic, hollow like feel, although I like the textured rear as it offers a nice grippy surface. There is no wireless charging although it does offer fast wired charging. Android 13 has pretty much ironed out every bug in the Android experience and transferring everything from the S22 was a breeze thanks to Smart Switch. All said, this phone is a good entry-level Android device. It has a great big screen and does everyday tasks with ease. Power users will pass on this unless you need a phone in a jam.

Missing Ejection Pin and no USB-A for charging
6 July 2022

Product is ok, not the latest or greatest, but expected per price point and met my intended use. Phone came in great condition. The description states that an Ejection Pin is included, but it was not available in the box (despite the "Geek Squad" seal). I had previous excellent experience with Best Buy Geek Squad, so I was a little disappointed over the minor missing item. I used a metal paper clip instead. In addition, I wish I knew beforehand that the Data cable included is literally a data transfer cable (both ends USB type-C) , it does not have a USB type-A end which can be connected for charging the cellphone. Ended up using another cellphone's charging cable.Dinged off 1 star for the 2 minor issues above.

New, but not so new
3 February 2023

I liked my former phone better, the A51. This is an A53. If this truly is the upgrade to the A51, as I was told in the store that day, I don't see how. The sound on this new phone is not as loud as my former phone, nor can I get it to go any louder. Not only that, I paid $400. for my A51 two years ago. How is it that this A53, which is supposed to be the newest model, cost only $283.? I feel as though this A53 is a leftover from years ago.The text messages are way smaller on the screen and the selection of tunes to choose from for incoming messages, alarm set, etc. are limited. And, that's how I feel about this purchase. If my phone had not just died on me all of a sudden one night, I would hpave kept it. I was sorry to see it go. Not happy

We bought this phone for one purpose only to have Wi-Fi calling because we live up north in a remote area where there is no cell reception. The sales rep. assured us that the phone is capable of Wi-Fi calling and he even said that it was enabled in the phone app. However, when we got home up north, we realized that the phone app does not nor indicates have W-Fi calling . We called our cell phone provider to see if our monthly plan includes Wi-Fi calling. They assured us that it should not have any effect and we should be able to use Wi-Fi calling as long as we have Wi-Fi connection. We spent three hours searching google and watching YouTube videos on how to activate Wi-Fi calling on this phone, but nothing worked. We called Best Buy's Geek Squad and they took us through a shorter path to check to see if the phone has Wi-Fi calling, and based on their assistance we realized that the phone does not have Wi-Fi calling. What is disappointing for us is that we spend a lot of money with buying protection, as well, to wanting to get a product that was suppose to serve our need. INSTEAD, we were sold a product that is basically useless for our need. I called the Manager, She told me that based on Google this product has Wi-Fi calling, and after 10 minutes on the phone with her I realize that the Geek Squad were more knowledgeable than her. After telling her that we purchased protection plan, she gave us 30 days to return the phone but with no guarantees whether any Best Buy will switch to another phone with Wi-Fi calling capabilities. We have to take a flight from our remote community to get to an urban setting with a Best Buy store being there. She didn't even care about that! She did not even know about the product's capabilities that her representative sold to us. The sales representative was not fully honest. She did care about that neither! This is not appreciated. NOT HAPPY!NOT a BEST BUY!

good phone for normal humans
2 April 2023

I don't do reviews but am doing this because I want to encourage Samsung to make phones like this and normal people to buy phones like this. It has a good camera. It has a gorilla glass screen. It has expandable SD memory. You're probably not looking at apple products if you're looking at this. Samsung is a pretty solid phone maker. You're not selling your soul to google when you buy this and you're not buying some weird off brand phone, either. It's a phone for normal people that's not super expensive.
