These are the best of the Speed series so far. I'm wide-footed and over-pronate but managed to make the first Speeds work for me (sizing up 1/2 size and strengthening my lower leg muscles). I went through 4-5 pairs, including running 2 marathons and a handful of halfs. Speed 2 didn't work for me - shape is too narrow and sole kept moving during run. These Speed 3's are another level. They are probably wide enough for me to not have to size up. They are much much more stable than the previous models. I didn't even like running on rough pavement with those, while I have run some easy trails with the 3s. I was going to try the Tempus's but I don't know that I really want/need more support than these. They are also THE most comfortable running shoe I've worn. It does ... It does seem they made some tradeoffs: noticeably heavier, a little clunkier feeling, a little less energy/bounciness, but the gains in comfort, support, and the softer more absorptive ground feel are worth it for me. I'll note that they *feel* a little slower than previous models, but after nearly 100 miles, it seems my pace in these is pretty comparable to previous models (which is typically 15-30sec/mile faster than most of my other shoes).Anyway, I think they're great, hope they stick with the changes in future models.

I've run in these a couple of times, about 5 miles now. I've been running in Nimbus' since version 15 or so, skipping the narrower toe box of the 19 and 20s (I think). I don't get too technical about running. My shoes do all of my distances which are typically 5K to 10 milers. These have plenty of room in the toe box and are light. There is more support at the outer toe/toe pad area, which is probably good for supinators. Plenty of cushion but not squishy like the Nimbus 24. Less heel padding than Nimbus. Though the profile looks pretty similar, the roll off the front is greater and noticeable on uphills - definitely makes uphills easier. I wanted to try a lighter shoe and these are that. They feel really good. I will see how it goes, I don't expect them to hold up ... MoreI've run in these a couple of times, about 5 miles now. I feel like I could pluck chunks out with my fingernails. I wanted to try something different and these feel good enough to do that.

I really like the NYC understated colorway, the red hearts and red lace tip accents are stylish. The other Speed 3 colors are kinda ugly. Function prevails over form, but I'd love to see the aesthetics match up. GO BACK TO SPEED 2 DESIGN.I loved the “Endorphin Speed 2” so much - I bought three pairs. The Speed 2 was light, propelled me forward, and fit my foot like a glove. I am a Doctor of PT in a hospital and walk 3-5 miles per day, bend and squat upwards of 70+ times a day. I need supportive shoes, that are super light weight. I cannot wear heavy shoes - I move too fast and end up tripping! I purchased three different Speed 3 styles in two different sizes. None fit. The Speed 3 is more bulky, has less “plush” in the mid foot and heel, and did not propel me forward. It honestly felt like a bulky Hoka Bondi shoe. Ugh!As a loyal Saucony shoe wearer for years, I’m disappointed in the lack of consistency from year to year. I’ve had no choice but to switch to other ... I’m coming up on my third year of running. Previously been mostly casual with no rhyme or reason to my runs. Finally maintaining a higher base of miles as well as having some structure to my week, so I decided to sign up for a race. With that I decided to invest in a new rotation of shoes to keep things interesting, with the ES3 being the keystone. They feel fairly light but well constructed. Super comfortable right out of the box, no break-in required. Fairly stable at slower speeds, also real easy to pick up the pace. I’ve done speed workouts and long runs in them, legs and feet felt great after. I never wore the ES2 so can’t compare, but I’ve worn some similar models from other brands, and the ES3 just felt so natural and easy to run in. I was able to pick it up ... I was able to pick it up on sale and with the discount it was a no brainer. I’ve only got 30 miles on them, so will see how long the bounce lasts, but assuming it stays the same these shoes are a game changer. For someone like me who isn’t an elite or sub-elite runner who doesn’t need the super shoe option, this is a great and affordable step down.
I bought this shoe on 6/1. I've run in 3 separate pairs of the Endorphin Speed 2's. I have worn a size 10 in the speeds 2's and they fit great. the Speed 3's are so much more comfortable and cushioned yet still provide the same lightweight bounce. they are roomier in the midsole and toe area which is an upgrade over the previous version. this sounds silly but I always had trouble with the lace length in the Speed 2's. I never had a pair with the same length laces and they were always a tad short. the Speed 3's have laces that allow me to lace all the way to the top eyelet, if I want, or leave them in the 2nd to last eyelet and double tie them. I bought these direct from Saucony and purchased a size 10. the website says they fit small and I should order a half size ... MoreI bought this shoe on 6/1. I should have bought these from my local running store to be able to try them on or should have ordered a 9.5 & 10 from Saucony direct. I think a 9.5 would be a better fit b/c of the roomier midsole and toebox. Great shoe! eager to see what the Speed 4 looks like later this year and hope Saucony doesn't mess up a great thing going.
These shoes feel fantastic underfoot and have a comfortable, accommodating (my 2E forefoot fits fine) upper. Unfortunately, for me at least, the heel cup is causing major issues due to its shape, height, and stiffness--from my first run I've suffered significant blistering on the top of my heel/lower part of the Achilles tendon.Fit is personal, but I have never had this issue in any other pair of running shoes in 10+ years, so I suspect it is a design flaw rather than just me having a strangely shaped foot. The heel cup rises higher than most other shoes, is very stiff due to a hard piece of plastic, and for some reason is strongly slanted inwards. While this feels fine upon step in, when actually running these three factors combine to slam the top of the heel into your Achilles thousands of time per run. This is not a formula for training success. It is a shame that such a promising shoe is ruined by this heel issue. Be very careful when trying it on and make sure to simulate the full toe off motion, otherwise you may end up in a situation where you've just thrown $170 down the drain.
Overall I'm enjoying training in these shoes. They have the right amount of support for me and yet feel quite light on my feet. I've only put about 100 miles on them so far, so I can't comment on their durability, but so far they've shown almost no visible wear, which is a great sign. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is the redesign from the Endorphin Speed 2, which was wearing for about a year before I got these, that removed the tongue slot that lets you run the laces through and keeps the tongue from slipping. I can't fathom why Saucony chose to remove that. Despite the more integrated tongue, the tongue on these shoes is very prone to sliding down, which I found uncomfortable. This was a change that it seems like Saucony designers either didn't think ... MoreOverall I'm enjoying training in these shoes. This was a change that it seems like Saucony designers either didn't think through carefully enough or didn't test thoroughly enough. There's really no good reason for this reduction in comfort on long runs. One other small issue is the laces themselves. Saucony, please never, every use stiff, round laces on running shoes! Such laces belong on hiking boots, not running shoes. They don't stay tied, no matter how tight I make the knot. Running shoe laces should be soft and flat to provide the best ability to stay tied during a long run.
I know that I speak for more than just myself when I say we would greatly appreciate better colorway options. At least with the endorphin speed 2 there were more neutral ones. Also men got that fantastic changing tides colorway and we just got shafted.Truly, these are horrendous. And hear me out, I know this is mildly absurd, BUT there are “gold” people and there are “silver” people. Absolutely.Make saucony colors great again. Also, only 3 stars for quality seeing that my endorphin speed 2’s purchased at the end of this summer are totally falling apart.(And yes I could switch brands, but these really are the best running shoes. Y’all just need some assistance in the design/quality control department)
I purchased these shoes about 3 months ago. Approximately 150 miles. I was going to buy the Kinvaras but the sales rep at the Berkeley Half Marathon packet pickup showed me these shoes. The feel really felt forward without any silly drop manipulations. Very light but crisp shoe. Somehow the shoe is cushy on the slower runs but acts like impact foam(more responsive) on faster runs. Good durability despite the lighter sole. I orginally bought these to race in but it performs well as a daily. Not so hard and miserable as the Nike Vaporfly 4% or whatever those are. Those are sooo stiff. HOKA's version too is really hard and kills plantar and dorsiflexion that the foot wants to do. The nylon wingplate provides some responsiveness to the thicker sole. Its not like ... MoreI purchased these shoes about 3 months ago. Approximately 150 miles.
