Fallen Arch Pronator
2 October 2024Mia

originally posted on saucony.com

I have found that men's shoes run wider than a woman's wide and purchased the men's hurricane 24 as a 53 year old with fallen arches that isn't ready to throw in the towel. They are a titch narrow but not enough to order the wides next time. Oh, there will be a next time. My sore feet haven't been sore since I bought them. There was a very short "break in" period. My knees feel better as they keep from turning in. I have been religiously wearing the Merrell Jungle Mocks with the firm arch to assist with my pain but those are now collecting dust in my closet. Thanks Saucony, Mia

Pros: Great under foot cushioning. Excellent stability support. Nice ground contact.Cons: Shoe although a 13 wide, it feels like a 12.5 narrow. There is no room in the toe box height. Upper hugs the top of the foot. Toes hurt after 4 miles. Too soft for any real speed work. Heel area seems slightly painful due to heel flop, if you go to a lighter sock. Every time I put it on, it does not feel right.I am an experienced runner/coach, 5K to Marathons, and purchase 4 to 5 pairs of shoes a year. This shoe is nothing like the previous Hurricane. Unfortunately, I would not recommend.

Great idea and design but FAILED as a support shoe

I gave it only 2 stars because of the lack of support for over-pronators. The Hurricane is supposed to be a support shoe, but my ankle rolled in almost immediately after putting it on. When I walked around in it, the midsole felt way too soft. There is hardy no difference (in terms of firmness) between the 2 foams in the midsole. The bottom foam was supposed to be firmer to create a sense of stability but, it is not. It's soft with almost NO energy return either. The Triumph 22 is a better option. It's firmer and offers way more energy return. The only thing it needs is a wider waist with a little extra firmness in the medial side.

Hurricanes Forever!!!
30 September 2024

I've been wearing the Hurricanes for several decades! I'm now 74 yrs. old and back before retirement they literally saved my feet and kept me working. The cushioning in the forefoot and roomy toebox and the snug heel support were the best!!! I couldn't believe it when they were discontinued and I went through many other shoes but none of them worked for my foot comfort and stability. I just received my Hurricane 24 and they are the best I've had for a long time. A little disappointed that the toebox isn't as roomy as it used to be!!!! The cushioning is actually a little too much in the heel but these (Hurricane 24) are the best shoes I've had in a long time!!! Snugger toebox kept me from rating them 5 stars.

Incrediblly comfortable and stable too!
20 August 2024

These shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! I have horrible feet, bunions and a very narrow heel which makes it almost impossible to find comfortable shoes. I watched Yowana's youtube video and his description of this shoe sounded perfect for my feet. I'm not a runner, I'm just looking for comfortable shoes for walking. Sizing was perfect, I did buy a Men's size so I could get the black shoes. Wish Saucony carried more neutral colors for women. I don't wear pastel colors in athletic shoes!

Love These!
26 September 2024

I bought these shoes a month ago and I absolutely love them! I have worn Saucony shoes for many years, primarily the Guide, but also tried the Tempus last year. I was a little reluctant to try the Hurricane again after years of not running in it because the last time I ran in a hurricane (2012), it was too cushiony, and did not have any bounce to propel me forward. I felt like I was running in sand the whole time. But the salesperson at the running store told me that they had made some changes and even combined some of the technology from the Tempus. When I tried them on in store, and took a little test run, I immediately felt the cushioning and the bounce/response to propel me forward. Since that time I have had many runs in these shoes. My feet feel great during and after the run, which was not always the case with the tempus. While being a heavier shoe in general, they do not feel heavy and I am able to run my normal pace. Great Job Saucony! Thank you for bringing this one back!

Maybe better than the Hoka Bondi!
20 August 2024

Was looking for something comparable to a Hoka Bondi. I have roughly 100 miles on my Hurricanes now. I was very surprised they met the standard, and may have actually surpassed it! I am very happy with this purchase and will buy again for my shoe rotation. I do hope they come out with colors other than black, white, and what seems to be today’s standard of an assortment of pastel colors…. This was the main reason I was looking for something other than my Bondi. Hoka is on a pastel color kick. Can we please get a better color selection?

Should be a crime how good this shoe is.

First of all, absolute banger of a shoe. I personally don't think Pwrrun PB is the softest foam on the market, but it is my favorite. It provides a bounce/responsiveness that is difficult to find. Combine that with the stability elements found in this shoe, and you have a shoe that will protect your legs through the 99% of miles you'll run. I genuinely hope that Saucony keeps this shoe for next year and we get a version 25. What I hope to see is more of the same. Please don't put a plate in there. This is a shoe that thrives on some flexibility and support, and I feel like putting a plate in would ruin that. The outsole rubber coverage is fantastic, I bet I'll get at least 400-500 miles if I want to. Also, 160 bucks? Honestly, I'd pay 180 and if they go on sale, I'm ... MoreFirst of all, absolute banger of a shoe. I personally don't think Pwrrun PB is the softest foam on the market, but it is my favorite. Super Plush Luxury
4 September 2024

The Hurricane is absolutely the most plush, luxurious running shoe I have ever worn. Every feature is incredibly comfortable and soft. I typically run in the Guide or equivalent and decided to give this a shot and am so glad I did. I don’t feel any stiff support features, but have not noticed any discomfort from lack of stability. This has become my go to easy run shoe since it makes sore feet and muscles feel so much better. I still stick with something a little lower profile and more responsive for faster runs and something with thicker rubber for any trails, but this is a great compliment and what I use 50% of the time. I run ~60 mpw, male, SZ 12, 155 lbs, 6’2”. Fits true to size - wide toe box.

disappointed
28 August 2024

I ran, trained and loved running in my Hurricane shoes for 20 years (9 marathons). I was surprised and sad when Saucony stopped making my shoe. I switched and had been running in newly suggested Tempus shoe, but I need a wide toe box and even the wide size was a bit tight. I have now bought the new Hurricane 24 wide, and it doesnt fit or feel as well as it used to. Its a lot clunkier, and I needed to get the new pair a half size smaller, so these are now a bit tight. Not sure what's happened with the sizing and the overall design, but I'm not thrilled to run in them. I'm hoping I get used to the new heavy padding and the tight fit.
