I bought a post of these about a 8 months ago maybe… great shoe, super soft and sticky. I used them for bouldering about 95% of the time, and even at the almost end of their life they worked great outdoors too! They are a great shoe for beginners and experts alike In my opinion.I climbed in them 3-5 days a week for their entire lifespan. They handle intricate foot swaps and are great on volumes. They stretch a lot so definitely downsize a little extra. I got a 38, and my friend tried them on and he fits in them (not comfortably but he is a 44 i think). My only real issue with these shoes are the heels, I think i have pretty average feet. But the heels are just so big, even as a low volume shoe I could probably fit 1.5-2 of my heels in the back of the shoe. Great pair of modern shoes. The lace let's me tweak the fit very well. Coming back to bouldering after 17 years of blank, these shoes let me pick up where I left off. This pair shoes conforms well and provides plenty of contact patch with volume surface. The toe and heel rubber are sticky enough that the only thing limiting me is my own strength and flexibility.I went with normal shoe sizing. While the shoes stretched half a size, they still fit snug; I prefer comfort over super tight fit now. I don't think about the shoes when I'm projecting so I think that's a good sign. The heel volume may not be suitable for all. Some will find it baggy.

I have not been climbing long so buying a pair of shoes was a hard decision. I didn't like the rental shoes but had done some research and chose the Scarpa as my first ever real climbing shoe.I bought these in June and received them quickly through RIE. I am normally a size 10 but had sizes down to 9.5. They were a little tight but I was able to break them in easily. I have climbed hard and really enjoyed them for slab climbing. They feel comfortable, I rarely take them off between climbs.I have loved my Scarpa and if you chose them as your shoes. I'm sure you will love them just as much as I have.

I absolutely love these shoes! I will climb anything in the gym in these. I have other shoes but I always gravitate to my Veloces for both sport and bouldering. I sized down quite a bit (USW 7 down to an EU 36), they stretched out a good bit and seem a little bigger than other Scarpas. I have a VERY narrow heel and they fit fine but now 6 months later the heel cup has stretched and the looser fit makes it feel like my feet my slip out of my shoes when heel hooking. I have climbed A LOT in these so it doesn't really bother me (4-5x a week, approx 12-15hrs of climbing/week for 6 months). The toe has still retained it's slight downturn over time. I know some people don't like these for small/chip like footholds but I have no issues at all. Out of all my shoes I trust ... MoreI absolutely love these shoes! I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone who wants to try them out.
I often have a really hard time finding shoes that fit my feet - my heels are fairly high volume for a woman, but my feet overall are so small I can't find men's shoes that are small enough (I'm wearing EU 36.5 in these). Usually with most women's shoes, if the fit is good in the heel width then they are so long I can curl my toes away from the front, or the length is good but they pinch way too much on my achilles tendon and the pressure point under my ankle bone. I was hesitant to try these because so many reviews rated the fit poorly, but then I realized those reviews are probably from people with narrower feet who are more used to finding shoes shapes that work for them. If your feet sound like mine, give these a try.Performance wise I'd say they're a good ... MoreI often have a really hard time finding shoes that fit my feet - my heels are fairly high volume for a woman, but my feet overall are so small I can't find men's shoes that are small enough (I'm wearing EU 36.5 in these). If your feet sound like mine, give these a try.Performance wise I'd say they're a good moderate shoe for indoor sport climbing or bouldering. The toe downturn is noticeably more helpful than a flat shoe, but it's not Instinct or Solutions level of toeing in. Edging on the outside of the shoe isn't perfect but totally serviceable if you have fine footwork. Really good heel hooks (again though, may be specific to my heel shape). Quite sensitive and flexible through the midsole so you have a lot of foot control. That plus the velcro closure system makes it easy to personalize the fit around the midsoles, so these really felt like wearing socks. These won't be the best shoe to break out for sending that overhung V9 project with tiny chips and I think the sensitivity could make it hard to climb big wall or trad, but I'm very happy with them as my go-to bouldering shoe (particularly given how hard it is to fit that right shaped shoe for my feet!)
Pros: amazing grippy rubber, instant comfort, doesn't stretch too muchCons: WIDE heel, rubber wears easilySo I got this shoe after my 'first' pair of climbing shoes, the Scarpa Origins. I instantly felt so confident in these shoes and felt great smearing and climbing on tiny foot chips. I would have sized down to fix the heel issue but my feet are pretty small so I got the smallest size available at REI. I would consider them true to size in terms of length. Out of the box they are so comfortable and don't really need a break-in period. The wide heel made me very wary but I was able to manage a few aggressive heel hooks. I really hope that they fix the wide heel in the future because they would easily be my go-to shoe once they do. I wouldn't recommend this shoe for beginners because of the easy wear, but it's a great shoe for intermediate climbers or as a warm-up/easy session shoe for someone more advanced.
This model was not available at my local REI, so I had to buy online. I upgraded from the La Sportiva Tarantulaces, and the veloces were significantly smaller than those! My street size is 40 EUR, and I was a size 38 in tarantulaces. After learning that veloces run half a size bigger than other scarpas, I bought a 38.5 in veloces. The shoe is soft and has a wide toebox so 38.5 is wearable, but I feel like a 39 would’ve still fit snug but less painful lengthwise. These performed well, they are sensitive and grippy, and the heel rubber has been helpful for getting some new sends, but my biggest gripe with this shoe is the durability. I expected these to be less durable due to the soft rubber, but just 4 gym sessions in, the rubber started peeling off on one of the shoes. My tarantulaces didn’t do this until 10 months in. Quite unfortunate especially at this price point. Definitely do not take these shoes outdoors if you get them.Overall, those are good if you climb mostly indoors and are looking to upgrade from an entry level shoe. They just weren’t durable for me.
I’ve owned a lot of shoes, almost all La Sportiva. This shoe is closest to the Skwama, but is softer, narrower, and a little less capable. However I really like it as a gym shoe. I generally climb in the 5.12/v7 range comfortably and haven’t thought of my feet as a limiting factor. They feel slipper like, very comfortable, but they don’t breath much. I think my feet sweat more in these than any of my other shoes.
This is a really comfy shoe. However, it didn't work for me. I took a chance on this shoe knowing it was more ideal for someone with a wider foot. Mine are pretty narrow but I wanted so badly for this to work because I really wanted a more relaxed Gym shoe. Unfortunately, the heel was way too large for me to make it work. However, if your foot is on the wider end of the spectrum and you want a comfy gym shoe this is worth a try! I hope they make a version that will work better for narrow feet.
I bought these a few weeks ago and, per usual, expected they'd need some breaking in time and would be awful for the first few times I used them. I was wrong. They were comfortable immediately and I have worn them consistently without changing them out. They stick to the wall nicely and do whatever I need them to. I'd happily recommend them. Strangers have also complimented me on how they look, which is not a primary concern, but I'll take it.
