Can you say compression?The ultra sil compression sack did exactly as described. I was able to pack for a three night stay and all items fit into my backpack with the help of the compression sack. This enabled me to place the backpack under the seat on my flight and classified as a “personal item” so I avoided any additional cost.

I bought this for traveling, not for camping. I have used it a couple of times to smush more stuff into suitcases. It's light and does not add bulk. I like the strap across the bottom that allows it be carried more easily. It's just a hand hold, not a shoulder strap. The compression straps and bungee string do hang down and swing a bit, but it is helpful for use as an overnight bag--for example, to keep things handy for a one night stay on a longer road trip. The construction seems sturdy, but I have not had it in service for very long nor subjected it to extreme duress.

This is the best compression sack I've ever used. My synthetic quilt doesn't pack small like a down one would. I couldn't have fit the bulky quilt into my backpack without the Ultra-Sil compression sack. It works perfectly, is built to last, weighs next to nothing, protects the quilt from moisture. While the sack is pricey, it's worth it.
