Guerlain is the only brand of perfume I can blind buy. I got this at a duty free store while we were flying back home from Mirocco vacation after trying for years to find in the US back in 2017. This perfume is something I will save for my next generation. I use it very sparingly and less us more with this perfume. It’s a clean sophisticated perfume which lasts 6 plus hours and it gets along really well with my body chemistry. This perfume is definitely not for all. The initial spray comes out strong and the then it starts shining through after half an hour or so. You can smell it for days on clothes. A classic vanilla with notes of citrus and incense. The vetiver, sandalwood from the dry down smell warm and comforting.

Unfortunately, I had to return the Shalimar. The scent was "off" and not anything like the scent that remained in my current bottle of Shalimar. That happened once before when I purchased Shalimar, and wonder if either Guerlain is having a trouble with production OR if the batch did not come directly from Guerlain. I purchased the Shalimar from the online Macy's and was grateful that the salesperson at the Scottsdale Fashion Square accepted the return without a problem. There wasn't any in stock so I could replace it. I'm so disappointed. It is one of my favorites for sentimental reasons...
I bought this to refill my empty bottle of Shalimar but can't figure out how to actually do that. It's impossible to get the sprayer top off the existing shalimar bottle. There are no instructions provided, and I'm also not sure how I'm going to get the perfume into the tiny opening of my existing bottle. (I guess I can go buy a funnel.) This product was advertised as a "refill" but it actually has a sprayer on it - so I guess I'll use it as it is, but it's just not as pretty. The reason to buy the refill was "sustainability" but I don't see anything more sustainable about this refill bottle either.I also feel like the scent isn't the same as my regular Shalimar Eau de Toilette, which I've been using for years.
My husband gave me Shalimar in 1976 and I still love it and wear it every single day and it is now 2024!!!! There is nothing like this perfume anywhere !! I get so many compliments on this perfume everywhere I go, and everybody wants to know what it is and my family has even dubbed it AUNT JUDY’S SMELL because it smells so so good!! i. It truly just captivates your senses…..LOVE SHALIMAR!!
I've had the most exquisite Shalimar Refill container ✨️ bought in 2017 @ #TajMahalMontegoBay I absolutely adored every drop if it. Finally I decided to purchase a Refill of Shalimar. Delighted that my fav Guerlain offered it I sent away for it. How different the smell.. it wasn't anything that I was familiar with. Disappointed I left it to one side. Now I sprit a little here and there finding that I might come to like this too. I wonder if the aroma of Shalimar changed?! Hmmm but GUERLAIN how I love your products AND the fabulous red perfume bottle with gold colour Dragon on top is pure fabulousness!!! Thanks. I feel so special in everything Guerlain. Mer'ci ❤️
Shalimar is a classic perfume, suitable for all seasons and occasions. This makes it one of the go to perfumes in my collection, which includes many Guerlain, Dior, Tom Ford and Jo Malone perfumes. I would recommend Shalimar to anyone who is beginning to build a perfume collection. I know some women stick to one perfume as their signature but I dont see why you should restrict yourself when there are so many wonderful perfumes to enjoy.

For over 50 years I have usedGuerlain Shalimar Eau de Toilett for so many years I have never had a problem with this product, I was surprised when I received this product and for the first time, it does not have the smell that it has always had, I am very disappointed, I am returning it and I will visit the store, to be sure that the Shalimar that I get have the same aroma as the one I have always bought.
