I've ordered from this seller before and they definitely sell legit Shimano products. I have not installed this yet. Still waiting for some other parts to complete my bike build. Being a Shimano XT part this is sure to be reliable. I have the 4 piston version on my mountain bike, this I will use for a project hybrid bike.

These brakes are great. Wonderful power and I'm not pulling all day before they come on. I replaced the lever blades following a crash with the Flo Motorsports aftermarket two-way levers and they're even better. Also, me and all my homies hate DOT fluid brakes.

The brake comes with the hose attached to the caliper and this is prefilled with fluid and capped off at the hose end. The lever is also prefilled and capped off. This allows you to shorten the hose if required, when fitting. Be mindful that you will need to do a quick lever bleed when fitted, so make sure you have the correct mineral fluid and bleed funnel. I'm running Uberbike E-Matrix pads in mine and they have Monster stopping power!

Better than expected

On my $6500 XC ride I had 2 piston Sram brakes. I thought they were good, however, the new 4 piston XT are much better - more control with noticeably better stopping power. Very impressed. And, and I am not an enduro or downhill rider, yet, these are still a much better option for XC and all around. Thanks CC.

Great stopping power

I have these on my Ibis RipMo V2. They definitely have more power than the 2 piston brakes. I use the Shimano Ice Tech rotors with these brakes. On long descents these brakes are great. One irritating issue is that these brakes tend to rub on your rotors after heavy use. It's not anything that impairs you from pedaling but you can hear it. It may have to do with the heat build up in the calipers. After a little while it seems to correct itself. The mechanic at the bike shop said to squeeze the brake lever a few times to help the pistons reset.

Hmmm

I like the feel of these brakes. Less mushy than SRAM. Same power really but just a different feel that I prefer. They do suffer from the same problem of Shimano brakes over the years with their variable contact point on rough trails. General trail riding is fine, it's when things get really rough that the problem occurs. Bite point varies greatly and can cause problems on the front when you get far more braking than you ask for. Unsettling for sure. I would think that they have worked this out by now...This is for a review of a front brake

Shimano xt 4 pot m8120

Upgraded my sram db8 brakes that came on my e bike. My fingers were too small for them. Haven't had chance to ride them yet but always got on with shinano brakes. Bike tart are up there with the best online bike shops in my experience. Thanks guys

Superb!

Hadn't been liking the DB8 brakes on my new bike. When the Tweed Valley trails get steep there's just not enough stopping power, switched to these XTs and boom! Great bite, great slowing down, great stopping! Bargain price at Biketart too! 👌👌

The business

I absolutely love these brakes. They are my go to brake. I've tried others but these to me give me the feel I like and bags of confidence. I find them pretty easy to work on too and they look really great to. I especially like the feel of the levers. Just great brakes especially when you can get a good biketart deal on them!

Very well priced upgrade

Bought these on offer at a really good discount. Pretty easy to fit, came bled with a bung in the lever port so the brake hose was not connected, but could be trimmed. Be mindful that if you do need to trim to length you may need a tool to insert the small metal screw in the end of the hose. These are available online and are pretty cheap. Also worth having a bleed kit to hand but that is pretty straight forward. Brakes assembled easily, look good quality so am looking forward to the added power they should bring.
