Don’t declaw your cats— use these! (With caution on indoor cats only)

We moved into a new apartment with carpet and needed a solution to keep our cat from destroying it. We have a 16lb cat and ordered size L. These nail caps are AMAZING! My cat adjusted immediately and while for a few min he tried to pick at them, he totally ignores them now. I will say to USE CAUTION when applying as the glue is powerful and there is a danger in over filling the caps. If that were to bond with your cat’s skin, it could be very painful, so that’s the only thing. Assuming you read the directions and are careful, these nail caps are a dream. They apparently last up to 8 weeks or so as well, so you don’t have to go through the hassle of applying more frequently. Now that these exists, I see no reason any cat should be declawed, really.

Excellent invention!

While trying to introduce a new cat into an established 3 cat home, one of the established cats absolutely hated the new cat, to the point of cornering him and attacking him with her claws. Well my neighbor, another cat lover told me about the soft claws so it turned out to be a real lifesaver, she can no longer scratch the new cat or the furniture or do damage to anything. But she can still do everything else she’s always been able to do. He claws are now soft but still retract and do not affect her quality of life one little bit. I’m so grateful for this perfect solution to a stressful problem. Problem solved, no more separating cat, no more stress! Great product and I highly recommend it!

My kitty was clawing my new furniture!! He will not use a scratching post and was causing some serious damage. My daughter, who is a veterinarian told me about these and even helped me put them on. They are still on almost 2 weeks later, don’t seem to bother him at all! I got the sparkly gold, they look cute but more importantly they work! Just put them on the front paws, none needed on back limbs.

These were recommended by our vet as a solution for our youngish cat set on destroying everything in our house. I was skeptical that it would work but willing to give it a try, especially since our vet gives free vet tech appointments for application. So far they've been great. They clearly do not cause any distress for out cat. That's not to say he won't chew or pull on them because he does. However, it is usually only when he is grooming himself and I think once he adjusts to them as normal that will even go away. Despite his pulling attempts most are still on 2 weeks later which for our first application I had thought we'd be lucky for them to last a week.So we are pleased. Our ankles are pleased. Plus, as LSU fans, we think that our cat considers himself as mighty, fierce and majestic as Mike the Tiger so the color seems appropriate.

Great Solution to Unwanted Scratching
5 January 2021

Our 4 year old kitty recently took up the habit of scratching on our walls and doors. We wake up constantly in the middle of the night from the scratching and it's causing a lot of damage. We decided to try out these claw caps to see how it would go.He doesn't typically like his paws being touched and we've never even attempted to clip his nails. We did have to sedate him slightly but once we clipped his nails, it took a total of 3 minutes to get the rest of the caps on and he doesn't even seem to notice them.He does still paw on the walls and the doors a little bit but he cannot scratch them now and cause more damage. This was a great solution and is definitely a more humane solution than declawing.I highly recommend anyone to try these for an indoor cat that ... MoreOur 4 year old kitty recently took up the habit of scratching on our walls and doors. Impressed!
5 June 2021

I want to start off saying these were a last resort. We have a total of 18 scratching posts in our home, all of various textures and sizes that my cat loves, BUT she still scratches on the couch when we aren't looking, I promise you she has plenty of puzzle toys and stimulation as well. I bought these and I have to say, I'm impressed! Definitely trim their nails beforehand and make sure none are fraying as it will be uncomfortable for the cat and hard to apply them. I definitely recommend sizing up, my cat is only 9 lbs and she should've fit the medium, however I read the reviews about them running small and got a large for her. Definitely buy more applicator tips while you're at it as well! Overall I give them a solid 9/10. My cat can still scratch and stretch and grab things, there's just no claw damage done to anything. Shipping was super fast as well, only took a day to get to me!

Love Love Love!

We just received our Soft Claws today and they are soooo stinking cute! The glue caps are a little hard to use, but I’m going to assume that it’s most likely user error since this was my first time ever using a product like this. As others have mentioned, it does help to watch some of the tutorials on YouTube before attempting to try this on your own. Luckily for me, I do have a very sweet, docile boy who doesn’t necessarily like having his nails clipped, but he will let me do it, so I’m sure this helped tremendously in the application process. I purchased the size Small caps because I was concerned the size Medium would be too big; however, I now realize I should have gone with the Medium caps (as suggested by the weight range). Although the size Small caps do fit, I think the Medium caps would be a better fit for our next purchase. This does not reflect on the product itself, I was just being too conservative when I decided to go with the smaller size despite the weight/size chart that is suggested. Overall, I think this is a great product and I have already placed another order for the correct size this time!

Soft Claws
6 March 2024

I've had two bad experiences with this item. The caps fit over the cats claws to prevent her from scratching my woodwork. My Vet comes to my house and both times the glue was dried out and the product could not be used. I'm very disappointed in this product and I've incurred additional Vet costs plus the cost to fix my walls.

They work great but the glue is horrible
17 December 2018

These work fantastic once you get them glued on, but the glue is a disaster! I can't squeeze any glue out with my hands. I had to get a pair of pliers and squeeze glue out of the tubes to get some into the caps. Of course, smashing brittle plastic with pliers causes it to break so the applicator broke and super glue went all over the place. Improve the glue applicators (you need to make these good enough that we can apply glue and put a lid back on so it can be reused, and still make it so you can squeeze the glue out of the bottle by hand). If the glue situation was better, I would use these on my 9 cats for the rest of their lives! They're amazing. I have to just toss the applicator after I use it once. Which is typically to stick a single replacement cap on after a cat pulls one off.Rethink the glue problems and I'll give this product 5 stars in a heartbeat

Total lifesaving product
7 April 2021

These caps are a total life-saver. If you're on the fence about buying them, don't be. I've always had issues with my cat trying to destroy my carpet despite having SEVERAL other scratching options. But we recently moved and when you combine his not-so-sunny natural disposition with the stress of being in a new area, he became even more destructive. I tried sprays, double-sided tape, and even purchased three different types of scratching posts but nothing worked until I tried these nail caps! I feel like I'm living with an entirely different cat! He even gets along better with his other furry roommate now. I've even caught them snuggling!!! Not sure why, but I'm definitely not complaining!I do have to occasionally replace a cap or two in between sets but it's well ... MoreThese caps are a total life-saver. I've always clipped my cat's nails so I didn't have any issues applying them. To him, it was just business as usual. They did seem to annoy him the very first time I put them on, but he got used to them pretty quickly.
