Recently upgraded during the Black Friday sales. I upgraded to take advantage of the newer HDMI 2.1 features with my PS5 (and AV receiver with eARC). The TV is great for gaming as I had hoped and is a nice improvement from my previous TV when it comes to TV and movies (the X90E is still really solid in this regard). The local dimming and HDR is a nice improvement, my previous TV didnāt do dolby vision so that's a welcome addition. The colours and highlights really pop and the vibrancy of the colours is really noticeable (using custom or cinema with expert1 colour and most excessive enhancements switched off). The remote is a nice improvement, much smaller but keeping all the buttons I actually need. The menu changes are also smartly done with the prior app shortcuts ...Ā MoreRecently upgraded during the Black Friday sales. The menu changes are also smartly done with the prior app shortcuts being incorporated into the inputs menu (if you want it). I also really like the quick settings and the level of customization that is available. The eARC feature works great with my older STRDN 1080 Sony receiver passing through Atmos and such through flawlessly. Also from a sound perspective the Airplay 2 addition is really nice (amp has airplay 1) as it responds quicker and integrates better with home kit. My wife and I regularly use the TV and screen off function for music and the dolby sound setting smartly selects multi speaker stereo for music (which sounds great with my setup). Minor gripe if anything is that the picture appears to be a bit cooler than my previous TV with the same settings (custom/cinema in expert1). It may just be adjusting to the more vibrant picture of the new TV but Iāve never felt the need to properly/proffesionally calibrate a Sony TV before and Iām hoping this won't be the first. As with the previous x90E I really donāt think there is a better midrange TV available in Australia. Very happy over all.

But it is great when it connects Manual screen resolution can't be set on HDMI inputs. Although some inputs are set for lower quality - standard HDMI. When showing live streaming - eg foxtel it is jittery. The various picture settings do improve the quality - but the screen resolution is always upscaled to 4K when a lower standard HD resolution would be better. However if there is an option to connect by Airplay it is the better option Overall Great TV and very happy with feature range and quality.

Sony xr90k full array led television. My first impression of this tv is how beautiful and bright the picture is! with the full array led it looks more lifelike. It has acoustic multi-audio with tweeters on the side which makes for clearer fuller surround sound. I have an older Bravia and can say that the picture and sound quality is a big step up. It has a modern look with slim bezels and the legs were easily attached, it is also a reasonably light item. I found setting up the tv was easy enough. Bluetooth pairing was a breeze, Google tv is fine with lots to choose from, and I can switch between basic tv and you view if necessary .It, of course has chrome cast built in., It took a little while to get used to the new smaller type remote, but I soon got the hang of ...Ā MoreSony xr90k full array led television. I have not tried Bravia core yet, but will do so shortly.(checked it out and it is a very good streaming service with a great offer of 5 free top movies .) I have paired it with my Sony 5.1 dvd system and they work well together The tv finds all the hdmi connections very quickly It seems that the apps set up has been improved greatly since I bought my other Sony tv just three years ago, everything is quickly to hand and slicker. I think that if you could record programmes when on you view, that would be an improvement Switching between hdmi channels is a breeze with the smart remote ,and with two of the hdmi channels available with 60-120 refresh rate, this will make for smoother PlayStation gaming, viewing etc. A cam can be fitted to the top of the tv if needed for video chatting .etc.. I have not got through all the features yet,(there are a lot!) but so far am very happy with this tv I would recommend the video explaining the features of this on the Sony website or you tube All in all,a very beautiful and immersive experience so far

Fantastic Gaming or Family TV. Full array LED was new to me having both an LCD and OLED TV already in the house. Compared to the LCD TV this blows it away. OLED was always going to tougher as thatās a newer technology. So what are the benefits over the OLED- well this TV is so much brighter. Which is great as it is in a southerly facing room so has a lot of light for the picture to compete with. It does a great job of looking bright and vivid. When playing 4K HDR content on the streaming services I canāt see a difference over the OLED. Even better is when you set it up for gaming. Using HDMI port 4, your able to get the best out of your PlayStation 5- with 4k/120fps. Quick set up on the TV optimises the picture and your away. Standard viewing for us is via a set top box and picture quality is excellent. It does a great job with sports and 4K nature programmes look stunning. There was no noticeable light blooming when watching darker content. In terms of the basics- set up was easy. Just have all your logins to hand. Sound is set up using the remote control which works out where your viewing from and optimises the surround effects. Sound quality is great, maybe could do with a bit more bass, but itās not lacking at all. Remote Controls- there are two- a full control and a mini control. Weāve used the mini control and never needed to think about the larger one. Has all the key functions and shortcuts to Netflix/Disney/Prime/YouTube. The TV was easy to wall mount and the outer box is cleverly designed so you can open the box and lift the TV out. There are 4 x HDMI inputs, so plenty enough.
Iāve had this TV for around 6 weeks The colours are vivid & screen is bright & dark where it needs to be. I have a PS5 & bought this TV especially for the HDMI 2.1 which keeps up with whatever game Iām playing. The remote is simple enough but I have a Logitech hub I use so canāt really comment on that The Home Screen is very cool with suggested shows & films from all channels & streaming services, I scroll through that often I have a surround soundbar that needs to go into HDMI 3 which is one of the two 2.1 ports which means you canāt connect an Xbox as well as PS5 yet the TV speakers are surprisingly good in comparison to other brands My only criticism is the lack of pausing live TV which makes toilet breaks a nightmare when I watch ABC & I only watch ABC. My 6yro is now busting while watching cartoons which never happened on the Samsung. Just a pause & he was back quickly & he loved that. This one lacking feature is the reason it lost 1 star. Pausing live TV on a smart TV is kind of a must have & is why this TV wonāt be our main TV, itās in the spare room only which is a pity because everything else is awesome & worthy of a main TV & maybe pausing (& recording) live TV isnāt an issue for you
This TV is massive for an apartment living room. Big upgrade from my old KDL55W800C. 4k looks stunning although free to air SD broadcast is not the greatest. There's only so much that the TV upscaling can do given a poor source signal. Wish the TV had 4 x full HDMI 2.1 ports instead of just the 2. Note that this TV does indeed have a 3.5mm headphone jack, contrary to US based internet reviews. This is a difference between US model and AU model. Not too happy about the removal of the numerical buttons from the remote and relegating to an onscreen equivalent - at least make the onscreen equivalent layout in a numpad style instead of a row of numbers; makes channel input more laborious than it should be.

If not watching films or TV relaxing screensavers are available to add ambience to your living space. We have recently purchased a Sony XR-55X90K 65ā TV Firstly, I have to mention that the display and picture quality is fantastic and we are loving that aspect of it However there are a a couple of issues that are very annoying which I am hoping are able to be remedied with a software update Firstly (smaller issue first) The constant āblippingā noise that we have to listen to whenever we use the search up and down the channels in the TV guide is incredibly annoying Surely it should be possible to choose to mute this on a permanent basis in settings, or reduce its volume by 60% I can kinda tolerate it but it drives my wife crazy! My second, but more important issue is the somewhat inadequate ability to access files on a portable data storage device via the USB port My previous TV was a 7 year old Samsung 55ā LED and before that a smaller Samsung 11 year old flat screen These both could access files (well, about 98% of them) and play them no problems and infinitely better and quicker than my 2022, XR-55X90K The first time I tried to access my files on my Sony it couldnāt even display any at all Then I tried again later, and they were there Tried again another time and they were not there! I thought that I would try to format the 2TB portable Hard Disk via the XR-55X90K BIG Mistake! This made the disc absolutely unusable. Not only on the XR-55X90K, but also my PC and elsewhere Thanks Sony! Why would you do this? So, I purchased another portable hard disk I again put my rather large collection of videos, movies etc on my new portable hard disk and it had problems opening the folders. It continually said āPlease Waitā ⦠for hours! I gave up trying that I then tried to drastically reduce the amount of files on the disc This seemed to make a difference (though it took some time) ⦠but it seemed to have a problem with .MKV and .AVI files .AVI it had a problem with & .MKV sometimes worked and sometimes didnāt. My 2 old Samsungs were able to access 100% of the files on my portable hard drives (otherwise why would I keep them?) My question is, why could my two 6 and 11 year old Samsung TVs have no problems with displaying and accessing my files from my portable hard drives yet my 2022 Sony cannot? Could this PLEASE be rectified via a software update? Otherwise I will be going back to Samsung which is a far more intuitive TV
I upgraded my old Bravia 2015 to this model. An excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment system. Big Tv or projector was my choice. For the size of room (a garage conversion), the ease and value for money of the TV seemed to be the winner. After a lot of research, I pulled the trigger on this mammoth 85ā. This was an upgrade from our Sony 65ā. Having an Oled in another room, I was nervous that the larger screen size and different tech, might give me a significantly poorer viewing experience. This definitely isnāt the case! Delighted with the contrast, motion handling and depth of black this TV achieves. The PS5 looks sensational and any 4K movie watching is transformed into a true large screen cinema at home experience. Even the ups along from HD it mighty fine. Delighted with my purchase and would have found it hard to justify the step up to OLED for this ...Ā MoreBig Tv or projector was my choice.
