My son bought this for me as a Christmas gift. He uses his and in his words, it is the workhorse of the kitchen. I love the size, the quality, it’s cooking reliability and LOVE it’s deep pomegranate colour. My Staub Dutch oven has always been my favourite but I think it will have to take second place now.

perfect every time! This braiser has become my all time great piece of equipment along with all my other staub items. This braiser Never fails to produce wonderful meals and cleans up like a gem! I start using it on the stove top and finish in my oven on my slo cooker mode and nothing but great results. So easy to clean up and no complaints! Looks good as a decorative piece as well on the gas stove top!

Love My Staubs!I love cooking with my Staub collection of black cast iron ‘pots and pans.’ All beautiful and functional, all purchased at Cook Culture over the past several years. My two cocottes—one large oval, one medium round—each came with a magnetic wood hot pad, perfect for oven to table. In fact, each of my Staub pieces double as beautiful serving vessels: 10" Braiser, 8"x12" Roaster, 4 qt. Round Oven, 10" Double-handle Fry Pan, and Oval Cocotte. So wonderfully crafted and versatile. I strongly recommend Staub!

Not only is it a show stopper because its absolutely gorgeous but the food cooks amazing in it. From pancakes to quinoa, everything so far has come out tasting delicious. I know it is pricey but it is totally worth every penny.Customer service was top notch and delivery was less than 2 days. I will be purchasing any other item that I need from Consiliogs!Thank you
I have had this pan for 3 months now and wanted to wait before reviewing it in order to give it a fair chance! However my first impressions would appear to have been correct as this is a really poor item. I have used it both in the oven and on the hob and what happens every single time it that food just welds itself to the pan making it not only very difficult to clean but also difficult to cook with as the food solids stick to the base and break up. I rarely leave reviews (especially negative ones) but feel I have to in this instance as this pan is not really fit for purpose and at a quite unbelievabe price I would have expected an awful lot better! Do yourselves a favour save your hard earned cash and avoid this item!
Reading other reviews for this item, it could be quite easy to be left feeling put-off from buying one of these STAUB pans. Here is my review which hopefully offers some reassurance to prospective buyers, that this is an excellent product, gives great results and is very enjoyable to cook with.I have a 28cm pan, the second STAUB pan I've purchased, in addition to a 24cm STAUB cocotte. The cocotte is brilliant, yet I wanted a shallow style pan that would be more suited to seafood and rice based dishes, such as baked fish, paella, kedgeree and risotto. This shaped pan suits these purposes perfectly.Initially, cooking for the first time with a STAUB pan is a learning experience, one which usually throws people at first. This shaped pan suits these purposes perfectly.Initially, cooking for the first time with a STAUB pan is a learning experience, one which usually throws people at first. Cast iron is slightly different to other types of cookware, but once you learn the subtle differences in how to cook with it, you do adapt quickly. I absolutely love using this pan to prepare meals, both on the gas stove or in the oven. The Chistera drop effect lids are brilliant for sautéing your food! The pan is also a great serving dish that you can take to the table (get yourself the magnetic trivet). Each of the enamel colours are very appealing too.Additional benefits: the cast iron retains heat so keeps food hotter for longer, or at the opposite end of the spectrum, it can help keep food cold too if you chill foods in the STAUB in the fridge - excellent for fancy salads.Other reviewers state that food sticks to the pan whilst they're using it. This will occur, only if the pan is used on higher heat. If you do experience burned food, STAUB recommend to soak and use baking soda to help remove stuck on food. The only time I've experienced stuck on food is ... you guessed it ... when I turned the heat up. This is no different to cooking with high-heat in stainless steel pans I use. Baking soda works a treat, rubbed gently with a silicone bristled cleaner.I thoroughly recommend the STAUB utensils (zwilling) to use with this product.
I absolutely love my 3.8L Blue Chiestera Braiser Pan. It's deep rounded sides are perfect for making Stroganoff and spaghetti dishes. It's a great size for my hubby and I and to have left overs for our lunches. I was holding off getting one but Consiglio's Kitchen has some of the best prices. Thank you!
Made a tofu (replaced beef) bourguignon as my first recipe and it was so delicious! Best ever, as per my vegetarian daughter, I used the cocotte for the beef and everything was juicy and perfect- super happy with my purchase ❤️
Bought the dark blue colour and there is no doubt it is beautiful to look at. The depth of colour of the enamel exterior and the shape / size are superior to other cast iron cookware brands which I also own. However, and this is a big question mark for me as I was thinking of buying the large oval cocotte, I am not sure about whether it is too good at conducting heat and food will easily burn at the base if it isn't constantly stirred.I have used the pan for a slow cooked small shoulder of lamb in the oven and a frittata started on my hob and finished under the grill.Plus points - very good size for two people and lots of uses given it can be transferred between hob/oven/grill and as a lovely serving dish on the table with a good trivet.Negative points - food ... This is the fourth Staub piece I own. The quality is excellent. It is absolutely important to preheat this braiser for a couple of minutes. You must use some kind of liquid or oil. Protein will stick less if you a bit of oil and less heat. With a bit of experimenting the results are tremendous.
