I found these shoes very comfortable, with good cushioning. They feel like a good running shoe almost, in that if you were walking, they will help propel you forward. I bought these after trying on a few other brands, which felt very hard under my feet. They are very slightly arduous to put on, as the lace holes are twinned, but probably designed so that once on, will stay snug and not loosen.I am interested to see how durable they are. I have struggled to find comfortable hiking shoes since my previous pair of North Face shoes, which lasted a good few years! The material is light, and I am hoping they will be strong. The only other feedback I would suggest, is that stores stock half sizes. The size 7 fit comfortably too however, as they are snug around the ankle, and there will be space for my feet if they swell a bit, after a few hours of walking.I also like the colour - a nice dark sagey-green with pale pink laces, which look great! They feel light and comfortable to wear out and about too, the tread does not feel too pokey underfoot on flat ground.

I have arthritis in the long bones of my right foot and these shoes are very comfortable, offer a wide toe box, and the rocker style helps ease arthritis foot pain when walking. For comfort I would rate them a 5. However, for tread durability I would rate them a 3 or less. When I use them for walking it's typically a 3.5 mile walk (on pavement or concrete) daily. The heel tread on these shoes shows severe wear after just 3 months which is crazy for shoes that are this expensive. I've never had shoe treads wear out so quickly. If these shoes weren't so comfortable for my arthritic foot, I wouldn't buy them. For now, I just look for sales on the shoes.

These shoes are a miracle. The Women's Vective Fastpack Futurelight Shoes has all the features I wanted, but did not offer women's 11N. I had almost given up when I read in several reviews many complaints with how narrow these shoes are. I gave them a try and, hallelujia, they fit beautifully right out of the box. I immediately bought another pair and then bought a pair of the VFF in a boot. I almost hate to tell people how light, fast and comfortable this shoe is because they appear to be selling out fast.

I was on the search for new trail shoes. We do a lot of hiking and while I normally wear Danner Mtn 600's, I was on the search for a lightweight trail shoe, but more than a traditional runner. I looked at this shoe online, but did not like the look. At the store though I decided to try them on just bc I was there. I was super impressed with how comfortable they felt, so bought them. I wore them as daily shoes for about 2 weeks before heading on a hiking trip to Colorado. We hiked over 25 miles in 3 days all around Leadville. We hiked high elevation, in the snow (my feet stayed mostly dry), over icy boulders, etc... not only were these super comfy, they were light, very stable, I did not slip once. Just over all super impressed. They are a much better shoe than I ... MoreI was on the search for new trail shoes. These hiking shoes are just what I was looking for. Without spending much time breaking them in ahead of time, I hiked Mt. Monadnock in NH. The treads gripped really well on the smooth granite rock faces and supported me sufficiently scrambling down the boulders. I came down blister-free. And I love the color. They do run small/short: I usually wear a 10 or 10.5 women's. In size 10.5, my toe nearly hit the top. An 11 is just right.
I loved my old Vectiv's that I bought a few years ago, they wore really well. I walked in them everyday, on pavement, dirt trails and in the snow. I used them hiking as well, a 10km day was still feeling pretty good in them! I purchased this new pair in April, started wearing them in May, my first hike was in June. I walked maybe 2km a day in them walking my dog around my local trail system. I noticed that in July my feet were starting to hurt, I checked out the shoe and it's completely worn out! The tread is down worse than my old pair and the heel is cracked on either side. Also, the fabric by the foot well is split on each shoe. I don't abuse my shoes and always untie them, so never a stress point slipping in my foot.My old Vectiv's didn't do this and they have ... MoreI loved my old Vectiv's that I bought a few years ago, they wore really well. It's extremely disheartening that they didn't really last a season, especially for the cost.If you are looking to replace your old pair of hikers, just beware that the quality isn't the same.
This is my 7th pair of these shoes, and I love how they are great for every day walking and light hikes in the mountains. I have gotten used to the VECTIV rocker in the foot bed, it was bugging me the first time they changed to this technology as I thought it felt to "springy" and "rocker" and it was changing my gait in an awkward way, but my body has adapted after a couple pair. North Face has changed the fabric of this shoe this year and I am not a fan as it gives a bit of a plastic-like fabric effect which doesn't lay flat on the shoe. The fabric wrinkles around the toe box & sides, making this expensive shoe look cheap. I wish North Face would stop trying to "improve" this shoe because it was perfect 5 years ago. However, still a product I will buy again and again because it is a solidly constructed and fitting shoe that is perfect for my constant walking on dirt and gravel trails. (I also wish North Face would respond to long time customer's comments and take our input on design as someone who has worn these shoes for years.)
This powder blue is a pretty color, and I have been wearing them everyday all summer. This is probably my 10th pair of Futurelight hiking shoes, they are a really GREAT shoe for everyday walking and light hikes! I struggled a bit when North Face added the VECTIV "rocker" feature in the soles, but I have finally gotten used to it (after 2 pairs). I am able to put my orthotic foot pads into these shoes, which makes these shoes fit like a glove. This is a quality shoe that I will continue to buy. Please keep offering this style in the black color, as this is my go to shoe when I am out in the world traveling and black is more stylish.
They are super comfortable right out of the box. Excellent footbed with nice arch support. This is my third pair. My only criticism is that they don't hold up that well. Specifically the upper fabric seems to wear quickly. I still buy them because of the comfort. I wear them for like hiking and mikes of walking. I bought this pair for a trip to Italy where I'll be walking on lots of cobblestones streets and dirt trails.
Very pleased with these. I've been looking for lightweight hikers/trail runners that don't look stupid, and that are waterproof. These are pretty innocuous looking, very comfortable, and offer good stability. Some reviewers commented this is a narrow shoe; my feet are a little wide and this shoe is comfortably snug but not tight. I will be interested to see how well they wear, as some reviewers have complained about poor durability.
