Dewy finish, AMAZING results for mature skin!

A little goes a long way with this If you don't have extremely dry skin. but THE RESULTS. i'm 49 with mature, normal to oily sensitive skin, and this stuff has made it so soft and supple. amazed. I only use mascara, cheek tint, and loose powder, which the dewy finish is perfect for as a foundation! especially if I'm using a blurring finishing powder, omg.now I have two moisturizers that don't leave me greasy and irritated without actually being moisturized! This may be a gateway to me moving to a state with a dryer climate lol...

Dry dehydrated night moisturizer

Overall this has been a life saver from the dryness of tretinoin. I already have mature dry dehydrated skin with cystic acne which I started tretinoin for about four months ago. This really creates a seal on the skin at night time. I haven't noticed this to cause any additional acne. It takes about 15 minutes to fully absorb and I wake up with balance skin that isn't dry and tight. I use Cetaphil moisturizer first and then this mixed with a few drops of moringa oil. It's to heavy for me personally to use during the day under makeup. It gets docked a star for the price. Comparatively; to their HA moisturizer it's almost double the price. Is it a little higher priced for the ordinary however, yes. Ultimately this is a repurchase for me as I've yet to find any alternative that provides the amount of hydration/seal on the skin at a lower price point.

In my mind, it made this product a no go for me. Fast forward a month or so later, I made a huge mistake with my skin that absolutely destroyed my skin barrier. I tried a popular glycolic mask. I only used it for 10 minutes but I should have NEVER put it on my face while using tretinoin. My skin was practically raw. Nothing helped, not even the popular triple repair moisturizer that every dermatologist recommended I try. I will always have a bottle of this in stock at my home from now on. Tret users, this product is absolutely for you! Just use sparingly and don't overuse it. When it says natural moisturizing factors, that could not be more true. It makes my skin exactly like it was in my 20's. It's almost like it puts back the natural oils your face used to create back into your skin. This is absolutely a holy grail product, especially for skin barrier issues and emergencies!!!! You won't need serums, masks or balms. This one product will fix the issue and fix it quickly might I add. Really great product for the right skin type. For others, try the other ordinary moisturizer with HA. I love that one too! Apply it to slightly damp skin and that one will make your face silky smooth. It amazes me how so many of The Ordinary's products blow other products out of the water and at a crazy good price point too. I will be a customer for life, that is for sure. Excited to try the pink skin barrier serum next!

This is my new favorite moisturizer. I was using IT's confidence in a cream and loved it, but they changed their formula a few years ago and now it's nasty. I was shopping around for a good moisturizer that would take care of my chronically dry and sensitive skin. I've used TO in the past for their chemical peel solution (also fantastic and great for getting rid of my flaky dry patches) and decided to give this a try. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. To be fair to some of the reviews, it is on the heavier side in the AM after I apply 2 serums, this moisturizer, some SPF, a primer, and then makeup. It's doable if you apply less and allow some time for it to sink in before the SPF. At night there are no such worries and it gets slathered on before I lock it in using NOID hydration ... MoreThis is my new favorite moisturizer. Ive been using the ordinary for a few years now, The Lactic acid+HA, AHA/BHA and the rosehip seed oil often make their way into my daily skinncare routine. I love how this company brilliantly provides such pure and simple products at an affordable price point! However, it was the affordable prices that made me a bit hesitant to try one of the face moisturizers (I usually spend anywhere from $60-$200 on my face moisturizers) I thought surely something so affordable could not possibly work! I bought this on a whim at ulta , Its been really dry this season amd my coworkers have space heaters going non stop I was going through my expensive face cream so fast. I have dry combination skin and I use this as a night cream because, as you’ve probably read other reviews, this is a thick rich cream that does take a while to settle into your skin. It feels like you’re slugging (layering a lot of moisturizer or a night face mask) when putting it on so a little does go a long way. I’ve been struggling to find a moisturizer that actually moisturizes and this is great. AGAIN I USE THIS ONLY FOR NIGHT. I’m not sure why this is being sold as a day and night cream, it should be sold just for night because of the drying down time. Other than that, I haven’t had any trouble using this and when I wake up my face is still glowing! Alright listen. This stuff has single-handed has saved my skin barrier. There’s a lot of reviews saying it causes breakouts, but this is not made for normal skin. For my peeps that struggle with skin barrier issues— this will *literally* change your life. If you have acne/milia problems/etc, I’d skip this one.For context: I have combo/dry skin with occasional hormonal acne, complicated by dryness from tretinoin use, long winters in New England, and 80+ hrs weekly spent in dry hospital air (surgery resident). On tretinoin, I’ve struggled with flakiness/burning/redness and other signs of skin barrier breakdown. Tried this on a whim, without changing anything else in my routine, and W-O-W. It has transformed my skin, I have no burning/flaking etc anymore. I have literally gone from having to use tret once a week to almost everyday. I have been using this Phytoceramides for about 2 months now and it’s been awesome. The cons: even with my very dry skin, it sometimes breaks me out when I’m on my period and prone to hormonal acne. I also developed a single milia when I first started using this, before I amped my tret usage back up. I’ve never ever had milia before despite trying all kinds of harddddcore, thick moisturizers. I haven’t had anymore develop since starting back on the tret, and this is so good to my skin I will continue to use. Just keep this in mind. If you’re not trying to rebuild your skin barrier, this probably isn’t the product for you. This is literally my first ever review on Sephora, but needed to tell the world about my bae Phytoceramides haha. This is absolutely an amazing product at an insanely good price for the people that need it, but may not be for everyone. Hope this helps:)

I was so excited to be selected to get to try the Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides as I am very familiar with their products and used the Ordinary skincare line for approximately two years and have always been extremely impressed. That said, their original moisturizer is not hydrating enough for me in the winter months as I have extremely dry skin. I am thrilled to say that the PhytoCeramides moisturizer is the PERFECT winter moisturizer. The consistency reminds me of mixing a hydration lotion with a sort of facial oil which makes it extremely hydrating. When I put it on my skin, my skin looks dewy and glowing. There is no burning sensation when it is applied which is fantastic, as I have very sensitive skin. A little bit of the product goes a very long way. A pea sized amount covers my entire face and gives me hydrating results all day long. I use this both in the morning and at night and I currently have been only using this. After a long year of health issues, I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease last summer. I have extremely limited energy and I will freely admit that my once lengthy and detailed skincare regimen has taken a total backseat for the past year. I have noticed this winter my skin is burning, very dry and I can absolutely tell that I have not been taking care of it the way I used to. Without the energy, a detailed, step by step process is just too hard. For the past month I have been using JUST this both morning and night and it has made a tremendous difference in my skin. My makeup goes on way more smoothly and I have lost the dry patchy spots on my face. This is my new go to product and knowing how great the Ordinary's price points always are, I plan to continue to use this and purchase it when I run out!

Surprisingly Excellent Body Moisturiser.
11 November 2023

I initially bought this to use as a night cream but found it too oily for my combo skin, which is currently super damaged from overuse of tretinoin. Although it's very moisturising, I wasn't a fan of the heavy oiliness on my face. However, it seems ideal for those who like the 'slugging' routine. I didn’t want to waste the product (I bought 2 lol) and started using it as a body moisturiser instead. It worked amazingly! I apply it most nights on my chest, arms, and legs. A little goes a long way, just need to spend time spreading across larger areas. I especially use it the day before applying fake tan, as I found it lessens those pesky brown spots that usually appear over age spots and dry skin patches. - To The Ordinary: Make a body version of this in a big pump ... MoreI initially bought this to use as a night cream but found it too oily for my combo skin, which is currently super damaged from overuse of tretinoin. Thick but Greasy

I just received my order so I have only used this moisturizer for 2 days but I already have an opinion. I personally find this cream greasy. You only need a small amount which is great but you can feel it sitting on your skin for hours after and it has a greasy feel. So I am just going to use this for the winter and only with my nighttime regimen. I use the Vivier anti-ageing line which is a much higher price point that these products and I can definitely see why Vivier costs so much. Its like night and day but I also know that I am not comparing apples to apples when it comes to the grade of Vivier compared to the grade of The Ordinary.
