Recently bought a SeaStar with the metal band. I have had a lot watches and I love this one. Great quality at a reasonable price point for an automatic Swiss watch. Nicely crafted with a striking sporty appearance. The weight says quality but it wears light. Very comfortable and functional. I am impressed with this Tissot and it has become my preferred daily watch. This preference is over watches priced considerably higher. Highly recommend. Give Tissot a try and you won’t be disappointed. 😊

Amazing watch!

This watch is beautiful. I have a smaller wrist and it fits perfect. It has a very sleek classy look in no way bulky. The face has an amazing shine that doesn’t come through in the picture. It has the weight and feel of a luxury time piece you will not be disappointed. This watch is WAY nicer then my tag. No problems with watch keeping time I use it with a winder and it’s always keeps perfect time. I cannot say enough good things, this watch has exceeded all expectations.

Beautiful time piece

I bought this watch a few months back and can sincerely say in terms of quality,price point and time keeping it’s been an excellent purchase. The fact you get 80 hours of power reserve on an automatic is absolutely excellent, it looks stunning on the wrist, the bracelet is solid and feels comfortable and itCatches the light so well. Would highly recommend this time piece, I absolutely love it.

Just got better for 2021

The new 2021 Seastar 1000 is greatly improved! My biggest complaint on the 2018-2020 model (the ceramic bezel) is finally improved, with now easy to read inlaid numbers (like TAG, Rolex) not sure if this is only for the black face models as Tissot hasn’t even updated their website yet. Also the 30bar 300m 1000ft rating is now on the dial under the powermatic 80 print. Overall the best budget swiss dive watch just got better for the same price!

Long term Consistency

I have had the Tissot 1853 Seastar 1000 for more than 15 years. It is my everyday wear and don’t care watch meaning I never remove it while performing tasks. It has a crystal that still looks brand new. It drops about a minute a month now but probably just needs a cleaning and adjustment. It is a brute of a watch, that can take abuse and still look fabulous, even so, after all these years.

Nice dive watch, looses about 3 min./week.

I really like how this watch looks and feels, the dial is crisp and the bezel turns with nice clicks; rubber band feels secure. I dove about 60 feet with this watch with no issues, although I didn't use it much at the time. The thing that is a little bit baffling is that it consistently looses about 3 min./week. I have this watch on a watchwinde that moves every 2p minutes, but the time loss is consistent. It is not a big deal, I can adjust the time in about 2 seconds, but it feels like it's too much of a loss and gives me doubts about the movement. Mechanical watches don't need that. If you need a reasonably priced good looking watch to take on diving/snorkeling vacations, this is it. Dont take your Omegas diving unless loosing $5K is not a big deal.

Really nice, good quality watch.

I am really happy with this watch. It's a great size for me - not one of the 'massive' divers-style watches. Beautiful finish and detailing on the watch. Very high quality for a great price.Also, high praise is due to Frankie at the store at Glasgow Buchanan Galleries store who was a great help when I bought the watch. She's a great asset to Ernest Jones.

Review Title

I want to make an amendment to my initial review. No issues with First Class Watches, they offer a great service. However, I am becoming increasingly disappointed with the Tissot. Looks good and well made, but it does NOT keep good time and its power reserve appears to be more like 8 hours than 80. When I put it on this morning it had stopped overnight. By lunchtime it was running a good 10 minutes fast and had to be reset. My own fault for buying an automatic I suppose, I normally avoid them but I liked the look of this one. Lesson learned.

Still all that’s desired

I’ve had my Seastar over 2 yrs and wear it daily. The ceramic bezel keeps the new look, the Promatic 80 keeps time very well, and the date window has the correct sized numerals. I have ventured to add another watch to give this one some rest, but it’s sunburst dial, and stainless boarders around the indices prolongs any desire. I am very pleased with the beauty of this Tissot watch overall.

Superb Swiss Seastar
