First, this toothpaste works as formulated. Sensitivity definitely reduced after use. Second, why in the world would so many reviews request fluoride in this toothpaste? Fluoride is NOT good for humans. What happens when there is a fluorine/fluoride spill? It's a HAZMAT issue. People need to stop listening to the mockingbird media about Fluoride and many other topics [cough, cough], do research for themselves, and think for themselves. We love that this formula is fluoride free. Thanks to the mfg for making this product.

I am 72 years old and have had sensitive teeth since high school. I've been using Tom's toothpaste for many years now, and I appreciate it's quality ingredients and lack of fluoride which can be problematic for osteoporosis. It is highly effective, has a mild flavor, and is gentle on the tissues in my mouth, unlike some other toothpastes that I've tried. My mouth feels clean and fresh, and I can enjoy more foods because of its protective benefits. Tom's is a reliable, high quality brand.

I have sensitive teeth and have tried several products that didn't work that well but actually found that this product made a big difference. Since this product is fluoride free, I do switch between products. I can now enjoy certain foods again. The minty flavor tastes good without being too strong and my mouth feels clean and my breath fresh.Definitely a good brand that I recommend. If you're skeptical about trying this product, I assure you'll notice a difference too.

I've struggle with tooth sensitivity when it comes to cold items like ice cream and icy drinks, so I was thrilled for the chance to try Tom's of Maine Rapid Relief Sensitive toothpaste in Fresh Mint flavor. This fluoride-free toothpaste uses a combination of naturally derived calcium carbonate and arginine to help seal microscopic openings on tooth surfaces to protect delicate nerves. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did this toothpaste taste fresh, but it also cleaned my teeth and gums and left my breath freshened while working to help reduce my teeth sensitivity. Right after the first use, as I rinsed my mouth, I noticed that the cold water did not cause typical discomfort. So happy with this toothpaste and am now a dedicated user.
This is a great toothpaste! I love this brand but have never tried this specific product before now. The quality of this toothpaste is great! I love that it tastes good and it also leaves my mouth feeling clean after each use. I also really like that it is made for sensitive teeth! My teeth are pretty sensitive and this toothpaste doesn't make my teeth hurt!! It actually provides some relief which is really nice. I like that it has sort of a cooling sensation too. So far, it seems to work for my teeth. I do highly recommend this toothpaste!!
I received a chance to try Tom's Fluoride-Free Rapid Relief Sensitive Toothpaste for free in exchange for a honest review. Package arrived promptly. A little goes a long way. As soon as you start brushing, the foaming action spreads all over your mouth. I love the fact that my teeth and mouth felt instantly clean and I had no sensitivity towards cold or hot items. Also, with use before bedtime, there is no film on teeth in morning. My teeth felt squeaky clean.
I bought this toothpaste because my gums are sensitive and I couldn't find the Burt's Bees sensitive enamel kind I usually get (which I think they stopped selling). This Tom's of Maine sensitive toothpaste initially tastes bland, almost flavorless but also somehow like dirt or even dirty salt-when one first begins brushing, one is reminded of the smell of road-salt is spread hither and yon during snowstorms. As one brushes one's teeth, however, the taste gradually becomes minty, and its strength continues to grow until one's mouth tingles with an almost violent mint taste. One must spit out a toothpaste with this strong of a mint flavor, unless one wants one's tongue to go numb. This has happened for me before I've satisfactorily scrubbed all my teeth, so I always feel like I have to do a sloppy job with this toothpaste, or else I will brush for too long and won't be able to taste anything aside from mint for the next week and a half. (And no, I don't think it's an allergic reaction.)As for the sensitivity side of things, it doesn't help very much. May as well stick with another brand that can actually create a good-tasting and effective product, even at the risk of *unnatural chemicals*. Quite disappointed.
I recently had a molar break off at the gum line and then I became pregnant, soooo no dental work for me. I have horrible pain with that tooth as it also has a cavity in the middle of it, and also as the pain has now spread to other teeth. I also have a chronic digestive problem (cyclical vomiting) that causes me to vomit often, so my teeth has been put through the ropes the 20 some years they've been in my mouth. I tried Sensodyne for a couple months and was very unimpressed, until I found this. Not only is it cheaper, it works better and is natural. Does it taste amazing? Oh no. But does it help the pain? You betcha. Within a week of using it, I was back to chomping ice and drinking my sugar filled drinks. I can even go a good while without using it and use ... MoreI recently had a molar break off at the gum line and then I became pregnant, soooo no dental work for me. You betcha. Within a week of using it, I was back to chomping ice and drinking my sugar filled drinks. I can even go a good while without using it and use regular toothpaste until the sensitivity returns. As far as rapid relief goes, that works too. Maybe not as 'fast' as 60 seconds, but it works. I was crying from my face hurting because of my teeth the other night, like couldn't even talk or have air hit it pain, and after rubbing the paste on my teeth and gum lines for a couple minutes I was able to talk again and drink a few sips of my ice water. For those worried about not having flouride in it, I use the knockoff version of Listerine's total care as it builds and repairs enamel and has flouride in it. Pairs wonderfully with this toothpaste and doesn't affect the outcome of the sensitivity relief.
I switched to Tom's awhile back after using Sensidyne for years. Sensidyne has awful flavor and aftertaste and wasn't working on my tooth sensitivity very well. I also tried other big NAME brands. Tom's takes care of the sensitivity all day! The flavor is mild. My only criticism is that the price is higher. (use your coupons) and I wish there were another flavor besides peppermint. (cinnamon maybe)
Took me several days to get used to strong mint flavor, as I haven't used mint toothpastes in many years; at first, when rinsed after brushing seemed to excite tooth sensitivity. Came to squeeze less product on toothbrush & as long as use warm water to rinse, all is well! Specifically using as recommended while I am doing a slow, gentle teeth whitening protocol at home. Despite extensive gum recession so more of my teeth without enamel exposed, I'm handling all without issue :)
