These Vans have been mine and my kids favorite shoe for years, it’s about all the 4 of us wear. If you have wider feet this is a good shoe for you. They run a little big so I suggest sticking with your normal size and if your a half size you can probably go down to the nearest even number example 8.5 get a 8. Also the prices on Walmarts site are great. I had to send these back because I ordered a size 16 and they were too big for my son. He needed a 14 which I couldn’t find but if your a 12 and under you won’t have any problem finding a great selection of Vans.

I didn't buy anymore because it just reminded me of that situation. I finally decided to buy a new pair for work thinking that these would be just as squishy and comfy as they were when I had them in high school. I have to work on a concrete floor all day so I thought they would be perfect. I was so happy when they arrived only to find out that they are nowhere near as squishy and comfortable as they were 20 plus years ago. I don't know if the insoles are different or what happened, but the soles are extremely hard. They are precisely what I want.The pair before last looked superficially the same as the others but in fact were slightly different. The cuff, the rim around the ankle, was thickened and the inside was black. But not a problem.
I love these Authentics on my 4th pair now! I can wear them with dresses and jeans and they look great. They never wear out I just buy them often because I like my vans to look fresh, ultra white and like new when I go somewhere special. I wash my older ones in the washing machine to wear for everyday use and they're still going strong!

That is until I bought my most recent pair, women's size 8UK. They are too wide (have Vans turned them into unisex?) and they are basically uncomfortable and I have found out why. Compared new to old pair and found that the padding on the tongue has gone. Also every bit of padding all around top of trainer which gave comfort around ankle area has also gone. The trainer is basically one thin bit of canvas now and the padding that made the trainers so comfortable now make them look and feel like school plimsolls of old. I love the regular authentics and have bought many but they wear out very quickly so i thought i would try these. They look great but unfortunately i guess the extra cushion lets your heel sink down and causes constant rubbing on back of ankle so i always get blisters/bleed when i try to wear them. I was hoping i could break them in but it didn't get better. Not really a problem if you only skate in them but you just cant really walk anywhere in them....
Lovely Vans leather shoes, fast delivery, BUT wrong size. I give 2 stars to the quality of the shoes. I ordered 8 US (Men 6.5) for my elder son, then got a pair in US Men 5.0/Women 6.5. Then I checked DJ website, the size I needed was all gone. Finally, my little one offered to take over this pair of shoes when I planned to return them in shop. It’s waste of time…
I bought this shoe due to its similarity to the Sperry deck sneaker which I've worn most of my life. My last pair of Sperry's were poorly made- the sole felt flimsier than usual and parts of the shoe became unglued. Time for a change. The Vans shoe looks nearly identical and wears the same. So far, so good.
