I ruptured my Achilles tendon and had surgery in May, I was wearing the Vacoped boot for rehab and was hesitant to go back into shoes as my incision was right over the heel. I changed jobs as well and I knew I was going to be needing all the protection and comfort that only Hola would offer. I looked at all the boots and discovered the Achilles tendon pad on the Kahas. I have the Tor's from a few years back and love them, but they didn't have the Achilles tendon pad. My new job as a press operator is grueling in anything without a Hoka table on it. I do rotate shoes/boots every day to keep my feet happy and the Kahn's are the best. I limp out of work many nights, but the nights I wear the Kaha's I don't, strangers have even commented and asked what boots I was ... The first is fine, they fit just like the other Hoka's I've bought, I always buy them one size larger than I need because your feet swell during the day and by the end of the day they still feel great. I am going to order a pair of the lower shoes for spring/summer and hopefully they will be as comfortable as the boots. Thanks for making such a great product! I have linked your boots so often on Facebook, people probably think I have stock in the company!

I am a 51 year old active woman whom has had surgery from the same broken ankle three times in my life. This has left me with pain in my ankle with EVERY hiking boot I have owned. Whether it be pressure from the boot, rubbing in the wrong spot, toe numbness or just plain not enough support. I was a bit shocked at the register when I bought these hiking boots for Zion this year. Although, it has been worth the sticker price!!! Let me just tell you...I have never experienced a better fit with zero pain after several difficult hikes. On multiple different types of terrain. We did the narrows twice within three days. The constant angles of big rocks and different angles of my ankle weren't even a thought at the time. These hikers were amazing with the water submersion ... I bought these for walks with my dog in the fall and winter. They keep my feet 100% dry and warm in puddles and snow. The sole is great, because it has a really secure contact with the ground. They are surprisingly lightweight compared to hiking boots.I bought the all black, because I wanted a neutral color. Plus they match my black dog, black coat, and black leather gloves (handmade in Italy 😁).I considered these for some time, because I have plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. However, I don't need my custom orthotic inserts with these! My feet and my legs don't ache after long walks!I feel really secure walking in these, which is important for me, because I have slipped and fallen in the past. These are my official dog walking/hiking shoes for fall and winter. ❤🐕

I've tried SO MANY hiking boots. I thought the La Sportiva's I bought would work but when I started hiking more than 3 miles in them, after a long break-in period, my feet hurt. I practically gave up on hiking boots and figured I'd just wear my Hoka light trail running shoes for hikes. But I decided to hike Mount Kilimanjaro next summer and need to have hiking boots for the summit day that can get as cold as -25 Fahrenheit. I hiked 6 miles with 2,100 feet of elevation gain and loss on a tricky trail with roots, rocks, and bouldering in these boots yesterday and my feet were in heaven. These are wearable right out of the box. They're just what I hoped they'd be: like my super cushioned running Hokas but with the stability of a boot. I no longer need to worry about ... This is my 2nd pair of Hokas and I really do like these shoes. I was reserving my thoughts for after I'd had them for at least a month but since I was prompted I will go ahead. These shoes are heavy as stated by some others but actually very comfy. Though they are advertised as such, they're not as plush as I was hoping like the Bondi 8s that I have. They were a perfect fit right out of the box. I'm still not 100% sure that they are waterproof though. That's why I was waiting. My feet did seem to get wet a few times while it was raining but I'm starting to think that was just foot sweat. Lol these don't breathe very well but of course they shouldn't when you're drying to keep feet dry. That's why I use foot powder.Another thing that concerns me is the potential ... I've noticed that these shoes aren't as slip resistant as they should be for the type of shoe. I've had times where I came in from the rain and my feet would slide. That's not good. I still have some time before the return window closes so I will keep assessing them for effectiveness as the weather changes in Virginia and I go out for walks more.
Best hiking shoes I've owned! No blisters first wear! Super light weight technical and high performance boot that makes hiking limitless. So impressed with the feel, comfort and enhancement of this boot. Got me up an 8 hour rock climbing trail. The GTX was an absolute life saver and held dryness through mud pools and the vibrim gripped across slippery faces. I hiked 3 weeks in the Andes and regret not having these for that trip. Excited for the expeditions ahead. Hike will be making a comeback for me in my life with these!!
Though I bought my originally Hokas for hiking and photography, I fell in love with them so. I wore them outTried a couple of other styles of Hoka them noticed these KAHA 2 GTX were a newer version of my beloved first pair. Love, love these mid-height boots. Lots of ankle support. The super plush is like walking on airI wear them all of the time. The lacing is easier and stays put. I bought the purple. The waterproof material makes them so easy to keep clean and my feet never get wet.
I've been prescribed Hoka plush shoes for my Sesamoiditis injury recovery, and I wanted a waterproof pair- so, here I am trying out the Kaha 2. My first pair for recovery was the Stinson 7's, which worked perfectly, and I can say my foot has greatly improved. I've worn them down though and they don't keep me dry in the rain, so...Back to the Kaha 2, I ended up ordering three different pairs before finding the right pair for me. I wore 8.5's (I'm normally an 8) in Stinson, but 8.5 in Kaha were too big. So, I ordered an 8, and they were great- except for the pain I got on the top of my left foot. I'd read some reviews complaining about this same issue, however, it was only one of the shoes in my situation, so I decided to try another pair of 8's and so far so good. No ... I'd read some reviews complaining about this same issue, however, it was only one of the shoes in my situation, so I decided to try another pair of 8's and so far so good. No weird rubbing, just comfort and hopefully protection from the elements. While they don't seem to be quite as plush as the Stinson, I have been very pleased and comfortable. I don't lace them up all the way, so that I can slide my feet in and out, as I intend on them being my everyday shoes rather than for hiking alone. I'm so glad that I didn't give up, as the second pair of 8's seems to be my Goldilocks. Plus, I find the solid black option more appealing and versatile, so a little bonus there. Hoka, if you're listening, there's a market for people with foot injuries that would love to have your plush soles but as more casual and stylish shoes, just saying. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's willing to collaborate;).
Just past 60 days of wear and these have a defect where the seam is coming apart on the upper toe box area. I bought these after one week at my horticulturist, outdoors job because my feet were in so much pain. They've helped a ton and I love them, but I was disappointed in the quality after only a couple months. I reached out to Customer Service about a return/exchange and since I'm past 60 days I have to send these in for an evaluation that could take weeks before I'm offered a refund or replacement. I rely on these shoes daily for work and the agent suggested I purchase a new pair now and then "try to return these in hopes of a refund". I cannot afford to purchase a new pair without a refund first so this system seems flawed and only feasible for wealthier ... Unfortunately, after wearing for only 6 hours my feet were hurting and mostly at the toes. I was hoping I could get a full day without any foot aches. My other Hokas (transport) are pain free than these boots, even after a 14 hour day on my feet. These boots should be as comfortable but my feet don't agree.I gave two stars for the color and looks. I got the purple one and loved the look. It's only good for 2 hours tops for me. I can't speak on if they are water proof.I was really hoping these would be worn out for my trip to a few national parks this year but I will be wearing regular shoes and returned these ones.
