These salt and pepper pistachios are more than just "wonderful." They are really good!!! I think they are harvested at just the right time and then perfectly roasted, because they shell easily but have very few empty shells and loose fruit in the bag. And their flavor is very good--no suggestions of too early or too late harvest, and there is consistent good flavor from fruit to fruit. The salt and pepper flavor is there, but it is subtle, and really enhances the taste.The only problem: they are so good that I have a hard time eating only a few. So I put the bag up high in the pantry and only take a few at a time to eat. And I always leave the bag in thepantry.If you like pistachios, you will love this product!

I bought these salt and pepper pistacios twice, once a few years back and noticed I had severe GI disturbances after eating these. I rid them off but found them again years later on sale (the photo shown) and thought I would try them again because the other flavors from the same brand do not cause illness and I eat this brand, multiple flavors, often. This bag shown I became very sick after taking just 1-2oz out of the bag. There is something very wrong with this product. This particular “flavor” just appears out of the blue from time to time and is not one I see often. So my thoughts are this “flavor” is a mask for some type of poor quality issue such a possible insect infestation of the product. Wonderful pistachios are the best. A few months ago, my local Sam's club had 22 oz bags of shelled salt and pepper pistachios, but none since then. Have not seen them elsewhere, especially in the economy size bags. Other varieties of their shelled economy size bags are available. What gives?
We munch on different brands of Pistachios all the time in our household. I think the salt & pepper flavor of these are better than most other roasted Pistachios in the shell but I was a little disappointed that these do not have a good crunch factor. They're a bit chewy even right after opening the package. Having been open and rolled to close now for a bit over 2 weeks they haven't gotten any softer which makes me assume it's the roasting prices itself or perhaps a packaging flaw that wasn't airtight when purchased. We keep them on the counter at room temp once opened - rolled and clipped closed / not ziplock sealed or refrigerated.
These are great tasting. I buy several bags a year and sometimes I have gotten a bag with several empty shells. I contacted Wonderful and they sent me a coupon for that. Only 1 bag in the last year have been that way though.
I love these salt and pepper pistachios, but I'm starting to realize these are a hit or miss item! I purchase at least two bags during my monthly bulk visit, but freshness and flavor has been horrible! Some nuts will taste rancid, some bitter, some hard, and some down right nasty! I'm not certain how fresh they are when BJ's first purchase them, but by the time they reach the floor, they're definitely aged!
These are really tasty and a pretty healthy snack. they have a zing of flavor that isn't really spicy but more flavorful. Just keep a nutcracker or pic handy for a small amount that need some more power to open them. I bought several bags and gave some as gifts too. Delish! and thanks Sam's for discounting them, much appreciated!
Great taste, price and value. If anyone was interested in buying pistachios with a little zing, I would recommend trying Wonderful Pistachios with salt and pepper added. The taste is different and wonderful. I truly love the taste and as a pistachio lover would highly recommend this brand.
I bought these salt & pepper pistachios for my husband but it was a mistake; I didn't realize they weren't just salted. He's a critter of habit, so I was surprised when he agreed to try them. He plowed through the whole bag in 30 days, lol! He bought salted pistachios from the same brand when he ran out and said he doesn't like them anymore, he likes the salt & pepper ones better! I do too now. If you're generally a fan of salted in the shell pistachios and you aren't watching your sodium intake, definitely give this flavor a try.
