Glossy, dark red cherry sides frame the cover of te packaging and product details that can be summarized as "Please dont set this on fire, it would be bad". The snappable graham cracker line in the center of the bottle seduces me to break it like a cookie but that would be an unwise decision as it is made of glass. The red/black glossy transparent glass (as most glass is) headbangs me into the sensation of being a kid in a metaphysical store tempted to eat the rocks on display. The bottle cap appears to be a lego man with a cap on, which is rather cute, and a bit less edible seeming. The edible bottle appearance overall emphasizes the amazing smell this perfume has.

Overwhelmed by Vanilla

Out of the bottle, the Black Opium Over Red smells FANTASTIC. You really get more of those juicy cherry and floral notes that are signatures of the Over Red flanker. I love that it has some brightness but isn’t super sweet. It’s so lovely, but unfortunately, the scent doesn’t stay that way on me. It turned to exclusively vanilla pretty much as soon as it dried down, and got sweeter and sweeter the longer I wore it. It had a little depth from the coffee still there, but mostly, it was just straight vanilla. It didn’t seem that sophisticated or complex, and certainly nothing special. It’s such a shame, because I really love the scent in the bottle, but with my body chemistry, it just gets totally overpowered by vanilla.
