The 72mm Carl Zeiss T* Circular Polarizer Filter from Zeiss helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. A polarizer is able to absorb much of this polarized light and, in turn, increase the saturation of skies and foliage, cut through distant haze, and minimize reflections in glass and on water. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it integrates a quarter wave plane within a linear polarizing filter. The addition of this helps to circularly polarize reflected light, which enables your camera's autofocus and auto-exposure mechanisms to function properly. The T* anti-reflective coating helps to reduce reflections on the filter's surface and promote a better light transmission for high quality imagery. The filter ring is designed with a slim profile to allow its use on wide angle lenses, but front filter threads are still available for the use of additional filters.

I have been changing iout a few of my Nikon lenses for some new Zeiss glass that yields better results with my high megapixel Nikon D850. I’ve spent twice as much for other filters an never gotten better quality. Excellent build, metal and glass, the threads front and back feel like they have lubrication on them, easy fit, easy spin and no sticking. The new “T” coating that matches my lenses is almost glare proof, even if you want it. I’ve never understood spending $ on a lens then putting a filter on it, don’t skimp, get the Zeiss no mater what lens you buy, you wont be sorry.

The Carl Zeiss UV filter is excellent quality. I've been a photographer since the 1980's and when you have expensive lenses you need to use quality filters. Because there's no point spending thousands of pounds on high-end lens, like the Canon RF 100-500mm f4.5-7.1 and then putting cheap, poor quality filters on. You get what you pay for and Carl Zeiss filters are quality.

I used this filter on an original Leica Q and it works very good, doesn't flare or create vignettes in my pictures.Quality is what you would expect from Zeiss which is a pretty high standard, metal construction, turns smoothly, high quality glass.
Even though this filter is very expensive, it is worth it to me. The build quality and operation are excellent. The polarizer ring turns very smoothly, and is a pleasure to use versus some the cheaper polarizing filters I have. The optical quality is also top notch. Basically an excellent product. It just comes down to if you want to pay a premium for it.
Nice filter, but I experienced vignetting at all apertures when used with the Zeiss Milvus 15mm and Canon 5 DSR combination. Some corners were black or darkened while other corners were lighter with a purplish shade, making it very difficult to correct in Lightroom. Other than this issue, the filter is fine. Spins smoothly and does what a polarizer does. However, I returned to B&H who processed the return in a courteous and timely manner. B&H was a pleasure to work with. I'll try another filter with the store credit that I received for the return.
Works well on a Zeiss Milvus 15mm F/2.8 but I thought the polarizing effect was very subtle as you turn the filter ring. Also it does not have any inner threads to attach the Zeiss lens cap to protect it and keep dust out when not in use. At half the price the polarizing effect was much better on the B+W 95mm XS-Pro HTC Kaesemann Circular Polarizer Nano Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC); has threads so that the Zeiss 15mm lens cap can be attached and also showed no vignetting when used as the only filter on the Zeiss Milvus 15mm with or without the shade/hood attached.
This is my second CPF by Zeiss since my original one cracked somehow. Now I notice significant scratches on the new one (and I am careful in how I clean/use these) so am wondering about the hardness of the glass. Works well though. As with any CPF rotation is hard with the lens hood on. I got a 100mm lens holder with a CPF so will likely not need this one and revert back to NDF for lens protection
Excellent quality glass with smooth rotation. Perfect for cutting glare, increasing or decreasing reflections for window portraits as well as being perfect for bringing the blues in for landscapes. A cricular polarizer is a necessity for everything from portraiture to landscapes and from architectural to product photography. Zeiss has some of the best optics around!
These Zeiss CPL filters are very well made, optically and mechanically. Rotation is smooth and the front thread is deep enough for e.g. Nikon front lens caps to grasp. In the meantime I have replaced all my B+W CPL filters by those Zeiss filters! Even the LEE lens adapters for the 100mm System fit perfectly onto the filter's front. Cleaning of those filter's glass surfaces is quite simple and effortless. All filters come in handy plastic containers except the 95mm version which comes in a soft pouch which is quite big and not to my liking.
