This was my first time using a bulky yarn and I only had a 10.5, 32" Addi Turbo needle. This became too incovenant and frustrating with a too long a cord!Reason for the purchase of the 24 inch. I love the Skacel, Addi Turbo needles and don't use any other kind.In the process of hunting over the internet, I discovered that Filory Yarn was the only store, that carried the 10.5, 24", apparently I was not the only one wanting that size in the Skacel line in the wee hours of that night!Thank you ,Fond Regards,Anita Rishell

These are German made Addi needles. That means that they will stand the test of time, they have virtually seamless joins, and the tips are perfection. I own almost every needle in every size available as well as two sets of the interchangeable needles. I was working on two separate projects that worked best with the fixed needles. I saw the offer and got all the sizes in a set for the retail price of less than 5 needles. I purchased the 16 and 24sets. With the brass tips they can get oxidation on them. I use an old jewelry cloth to wipe off any excess before I knit with them. I also bought a pack of small papers to put in with jewelry that prevents oxidation on copper, brass and silver. I keep a square or two in each package and I am not noticing any oxidation at ... MoreThese are German made Addi needles. As always, addi circular needles are great- a cable which doesnt kink, and strong needles with a rather round tip. These ones (2.25mm, 80cm) are perfect to knit socks with magic loop

I have been using Turbo needles forever. Arthritis and poor eyesight have slowed me down considerably, but Turbo needles have always been the fastest needles I have ever used. I keep trying new types of needles: wooden or shaped like squares. But I keep coming back to Turbo needles. In fact, when I come across a new yarn shop and they don't carry Turbo needles, I just leave.Signed, a very satisfied customer in Washington state
I use this product like it were a straight needle, and thus like the longer needle tip.The not quite circular shape of the needle, makes it slightly easier to handle. The blunt rounded tips are a good aspect for my partly depressed soul - hate to have sharp items in close proximity for long periods of time.
I love this knitting needle. It is perfect for big blankets and I am not able to worry about the knitting needle coming away from the plastit. It's a perfect netting needle. It's worth it's money

Other things I purchased are perfect. Free pattern Noro Y-504B is a nightmare, however! There are errors in it(for example it says pattern repeat is 14 rows whereas it is 16, and the number of rows and stitches you are supposed to arrive at are incorrect in several instances). .Also (the jumper is knitted sideways), when you reach the middle, it just says, 'Reverse shaping'. This is very difficult, as you have to work it all out yourself, and it is complicated! In the end, I have practically rewritten the pattern row by row. The design is very pleasing, but if I were not an experienced knitter there is no way I could have coped with this! I should not complain, as the pattern was free, but I have never had this trouble before.
The big plus with these needles is their smooth, smooth tips. Those smooth tips really add to the pleasure of knitting. On the minus side, there is a bit of a snag where the cord joins the needle, which definitely adds to the time taken to slide magic loops around. I would also say that the cord technology isn't quite there yet. There are times when my pattern changes where the round starts and this in turn necessitates moving the magic loop around and those moves tend to put kinks in the cord that stay there. (There does seem to be some individual variation, one needle is kinking a lot les than the other.)Despite that, those smooth tips definitely mean I am going to be a return customer if I need some other sizes.
Addi circular needles have the right substantial feel in the hands while competitor needles feel too small and difficult to hold. The transition from cable to needle on the Addi is flawlessy smooth. Other needles tend to catch a bit. Addi needle tips are perfectly round for smooth rolling to catch stitches while other needles are more pointed and tend to split three ply strands.
