This was my first time using a bulky yarn and I only had a 10.5, 32" Addi Turbo needle. This became too incovenant and frustrating with a too long a cord!Reason for the purchase of the 24 inch. I love the Skacel, Addi Turbo needles and don't use any other kind.In the process of hunting over the internet, I discovered that Filory Yarn was the only store, that carried the 10.5, 24", apparently I was not the only one wanting that size in the Skacel line in the wee hours of that night!Thank you ,Fond Regards,Anita Rishell

I find when using small circumference needles, like 3.5mm, that the bump at the transition between cord and pin on my interchangeable Addis is a real pain, so I'm going back to using fixed circular needles for these small sizes. I'm on my way to having every single size available in every single available length and I will buy them all from JM Embroideries. Their service is fabulous.

These are German made Addi needles. That means that they will stand the test of time, they have virtually seamless joins, and the tips are perfection. I own almost every needle in every size available as well as two sets of the interchangeable needles. I was working on two separate projects that worked best with the fixed needles. I saw the offer and got all the sizes in a set for the retail price of less than 5 needles. I purchased the 16 and 24sets. With the brass tips they can get oxidation on them. I use an old jewelry cloth to wipe off any excess before I knit with them. I also bought a pack of small papers to put in with jewelry that prevents oxidation on copper, brass and silver. I keep a square or two in each package and I am not noticing any oxidation at ... MoreThese are German made Addi needles. As always, addi circular needles are great- a cable which doesnt kink, and strong needles with a rather round tip. These ones (2.25mm, 80cm) are perfect to knit socks with magic loop
I love this knitting needle. It is perfect for big blankets and I am not able to worry about the knitting needle coming away from the plastit. It's a perfect netting needle. It's worth it's money
I've used circular needles for many years for all my knitting as it isn't as heavy to hold as with long needles. Addi are the only ones I'll buy. I've used Addi since they first came out and the quality is excellent. The way the knitting glides on Addis is perfect.
Addi circular needles are wonderful. After my first use many years ago, I have knit with practically no other needles. The stitches slide easily along the nickel-plated surface, but there is no problem with losing stitches. The connecting tube is very flexible, unlike the circular brands of most other companies. When I store my knitting projects, I know I will have no problems with stitches sliding off the needles because circulars allow the knitting to be folded well with the ends of the needles inserted into the body of the knitted work. Another concern for knitters is proper hand care -- Addi turbos are particularly easy on hard-working fingers. When I have no choice, I can use "knitting sticks," but MUCH prefer working with circulars. I am a high school teacher ... MoreAddi circular needles are wonderful. I am a high school teacher -- used to teach A Tale of Two Cities, which has a knitter in the story (she tracks her enemies in knitted code -- then reads the information at trials which lead to the beheadings of those she kept track of), so I would knit during classes for a few days -- I do not have to watch my hands while knitting, so conducted class just as I would normally other than having my hands busy. Would eventually finish the sweater in time for the end of the book and would then wear the sweater. The kids were convinced that I had "written up" the discipline cases in the sweater. I ended up teaching a lot of my students how to knit, so taught the beginners with the traditional needles, but the ones who truly became knitters invariably progressed to using circulars. Ultimately, the only disadvantage of Addis is that perhaps they are not the best choice for beginning knitters; otherwise, I honestly cannot think of anything NOT great about these beautiful needles.
The big plus with these needles is their smooth, smooth tips. Those smooth tips really add to the pleasure of knitting. On the minus side, there is a bit of a snag where the cord joins the needle, which definitely adds to the time taken to slide magic loops around. I would also say that the cord technology isn't quite there yet. There are times when my pattern changes where the round starts and this in turn necessitates moving the magic loop around and those moves tend to put kinks in the cord that stay there. (There does seem to be some individual variation, one needle is kinking a lot les than the other.)Despite that, those smooth tips definitely mean I am going to be a return customer if I need some other sizes.
Addi circular needles have the right substantial feel in the hands while competitor needles feel too small and difficult to hold. The transition from cable to needle on the Addi is flawlessy smooth. Other needles tend to catch a bit. Addi needle tips are perfectly round for smooth rolling to catch stitches while other needles are more pointed and tend to split three ply strands.
The perfect circular needles for knitting toe up socks. The stitches slide easily over the join from the loop to the needle.
