These are the perfect texture to mold around whatever pill you have to give your dog. Kind of like playdough I guess. All of the flavors are pup approved in this house lol. You get a lot of them for what you pay and they stay nice and moist and have a strong smell (in a good way) so they must have a lot of flavor for the dogs. I always buy the capsule version (no matter if it's capsules or smaller tablets) because they are bigger and if I have a smaller tablet I can just use half of the pill pocket that way they last so much longer. All other similar pill administrating treats I've tried are a lot dryer, have a lot less in the bag and the dogs don't seem to like them much. One of them even had each one individually wrapped inside the bag. Not only is this annoying ... MoreThese are the perfect texture to mold around whatever pill you have to give your dog. Thank you for Pill Pockets. My pups are now senior dogs and must take medication. One pup takes two different meds twice a day the other takes one med twice a day. These are a great way to give your dog pills. They are sold as in tablet or capsule sized pockets. I always buy capsule (which are larger sized pockets) regardless of use. (It's about 1/2 the cost per gram for capsule size) I then break the pockets into half or thirds and use them to give the pills so one bag can actually do 60-90 pills. They are super soft and break mold easily. When you have a dog on alot of medication the savings add up considerably. I've had both chicken and peanut butter flavor. My dog liked both but I found the chicken to be less greasy on my hand, that being said even the chicken are pretty greasy to handle and leave your hand wanting an immediate soap and water wash.

JUST THE TICKET!

Our newly adopted rescue dog was diagnosed with heartworm by our vet. (The shelter said she was not infected.) She is on the road to health, and is in Phase 2 of the protocol. It's a pretty rough road. Izzie must remain calm and still 24/7 for 8 weeks. She is a very mellow dog, but there is to be nothing that causes her heart rate to increase. She could clot and die. The vet suggested pill pockets to administer her meds when needed. We want to make everything as pleasant as possible to assure Izzie's complete recovery. The pill pockets are large! Izzie is a short-haired border collie mix and she weighs 50 lbs. We cut the pocket in half and molded it around the pill. Hand out and presto! She takes the pill happily and there is no muss or fuss. I tell you this lonnnng story b/c I want prospective buyers to know: 1) it's far better than using cream cheese or liverwurst, 2) no difficulty (we let Iz lick a spoon that had some PB on it so she'd recognize the scent), and 3) whether your companion be wee or large, these pockets can be molded to suit your best pal. That way, they are economical. Be assured: This is a quality product and eases any and all strain on your furkid when giving meds.

My dogs love them!
13 December 2022

This is the first time I have tried the cheese flavored Greenie's Pill Pockets and I have extremely picky Goldens. They actually love them. My 13 year old is on some large pill medicines and it's always been a struggle getting them down. He gobbled it right up after he sniffed the cheese flavor! My 5 year old has a small pill he takes and he can find a pill the size of a pinhead no matter what I put it in. He didn't manage to dig the pill out with these because they were apparently too yummy to pick apart. I am also using them as a training reward for my 6 month old pup. They work great because they are easily pulled apart to give little bits to the pup as a reward! They actually smell pretty good, like real cheese! We're happy!

The perfect all around treat!
15 October 2022

I use to find anything I could to put medication in liquid or pill form and it was a pain. I don’t know why I didn’t try these sooner. One of my 5 dogs had teeth removed and needed an anti inflammatory. I’m so happy I tried these they are amazing! Someone said they aren’t big enough for large oblong pills…. You should crush your dogs medicine anyway but especially large pills so they don’t have to deal with it. My dogs pills were plenty small but by crushing it then putting it in he had no clue he was taking any meds. I like these so much that I’m switching from their regular daily treat to these. I get more for the money, I can sneak meds in if anyone is on them and they won’t catch on and after I gave all of them one to try that is what sold me. They LOVED Them. ... MoreI use to find anything I could to put medication in liquid or pill form and it was a pain. I don’t know why I didn’t try these sooner. It was quick so no one picking a fight with anyone else either which is a bonus lol and if any ever lose enough teeth that crunchy or firm treats are too difficult that won’t be an issue. I also love that on chewy you can get a multi pack of 3 different flavors. They are also low in calories which is great for my fat butt puppy lol This is a 5 star treat

These are def worth a try

These are very easy to wrap around a pill however they are really big. My medium sized dog would never be able to eat a whole one and if you have a small breed dog maybe cut it into fourths. After surgery our dog had to take pills and the only way she would eat these pill pockets is if we rubbed turkey bacon all over the outside of the pill pocket. It's hit or miss with dogs and pills so what works for our dog might not work for yours. The soft moist texture allows you to squish and shape the pill pocket to try to fool your dog into eating it.We have had great success with giving a bite of meat, then a pill pocket, then another bite of meat in very rapid succession so they don't know what happened but it started and ended with bites of meat. Most dogs are fooled by this approach but it does require a bit of preparation and lots of praise for the good dog taking their pills. Best of luck!!

They think it's a treat!
31 January 2023

I can not think of a single thing to dislike about this product. It is moist, my dogs love the taste, and taking medications (for them) is a treat. I have two small dogs that take medications twice a day. One pill pocket is all I need for a whole day. They are very moist so I can pull them apart to get a half of a pocket. Then I pull them apart again to get a quarter of a pocket. Each dog gets their medication in a flattened out pocket with their medicine in the middle and the pocket pinched up around to make a mini "dumpling". They don't know the difference and they love the taste! To them it's treat time and the medicine is down them quickly.

Unbelievable!!!
1 May 2023

I have six dogs, three of which are taking medications for various illnesses. I had been putting their medications (pills) in soft dog food so that they would take them, but lately, my three dogs seem to have gotten wise to the medications being in the food and would eat around where the medication was. Then, one of my dogs started taking a new medication, which happens to be a capsule, and my vet recommended not opening it and putting it in the soft food. She said her clients had told her that the medication must be horrible because their pets would not eat the soft food with the medication in it at all.I asked my vet what else I could use because I'm not good at forcing medication into my dogs. I have to admit I was very skeptical. I didn't see how my dogs would not know that the capsules as well as the pills were inside the Pill Pocket and just spit the medication out.To my surprise, my three dogs ate the Pill Pockets as though nothing was inside of them, straight down they went. I was in shock, completely amazed. I've been using Pill Pockets for only a week or so, but each time I give them to my dogs with their medications inside, I shake my head in absolute disbelief. If I could change one thing about giving my dog's medications to them in Pill Pockets, it would be that I had started much sooner.Absolutely unbelievable!!!

Wellllll depends...how smart is your dog?
22 January 2023

Squishes easily to mold around pill. Smell, taste seem ok to dog. Problem is my German shepherd/husky mix figured these out in about 2 doses. So she carefully licks/nibbles off every trace of pill pocket, then hides the pill in the folds of her blanket. So yeah…good idea for some. But I’m guessing that most of us who were willing to pay the ridiculous price on these were doing so because our dogs have outsmarted other attempts to disguise their pills. Wish I could say these were any different, but no. If they happen to work for your dog, they are really convenient to use though.
