The fit out if the box was great. They match very well with the mallet-e pedals. I find the lace system is fine, meaning I’m not missing the boa or speed lace. The laces tuck into a pocket so they are out of the way. Excellent shoe. Would recommend.

These shoes are super comfortable fight out of the box and they pair perfectly with the Crank Brothers Mallet 3 pedals I have. Super seamless connection and no shims required for perfect fit. These shoes also work for walking and driving, the cleat does not hit the ground which is huge. My only complaint is that they aren’t Boa so they are not as tight resulting in slightly less power transfer than a more race style shoe.

Very happy with my purchase. Good durable shoe. Especially like the enclosure for the laces. Feel this will be a good shoe for colder riding.

I purchased these a few days ago, and took the on a few rides. I like the sturdiness of the shoe, I noticed a big improvement with my pedaling efficiency as compared to my flat pedal shoes. A while back, I was trying on clipless shoes and had a fall going up the 4inch lip on my backyard patio. Lol! That was the end of my clipless adventure. After buying my new bike, I decided to give it another go at clipless pedals. I threw on my candy 1’s and put on my new shoes that came with clip cleats preinstalled. It was much easier than what had expected, I also installed the shoe protector plate under the cleat and that made it even easier to get secured. I’m excited for what’s ahead. I use to road bike with clips, but there is a huge difference in mounting and dismounting, especially when your on a side of a cliff with a steep drop off and all your buddies decide to suddenly stop and take in the views. These are the most comfortable cycling shoes I’ve ever had straight out of the box. Fit true to size, room in the toe box to move your toes but snug enough across the foot to feel secure (snug at the heel too) plenty of shock absorption in the sole but still stiff for pedalling. I’ve always had SPDs (25 years or so) as well as wearing flats. These shoes paired with mallet DH pedals are amazing. After the initial guesswork of attaching properly, these are easy to engage, stay engaged and are easy to release - I’m never going back to SPDs. A bit pricey when you Chuck on top the cost of Crank Brothers pedals but worth every penny in my book - very happy.
I haven't found any real problems with the shoes yet however I have had them for a very short time and can not comment on durability. The choice in shade of blue for the accent on these shoes was a poor one and I think the shoes could easily be engineered to lose a few grams. I like the gusseting on the tongue and the tread pattern that sheds rocks.
Ordered several pair of shoes to find the right fit for my wide feet (larger foot is 94mm wide, size 7.5US women), ended up with these in a size 6.5 unisex, so I had to size up for the width. The laces allowed to keep the shoe loose as my foot continues to heal. I struggle finding shoes for women that are wide enough to not squish my feet, that has caused a nerve injury in the past (I came from narrow Giro shoes). I really appreciate that Crankbrothers has unisex sizing and they go small enough to fit typical women's sizes. My feet like that they run wider than other shoes out there, keep it up!
CB made these nice and stiff for pedaling, something that is missing from most all mountain shoes. Laces work great, very effective at tightening the shoes. I'd say these are hands down the best lace system I've ever seen on any shoes. I'd like to see them move the cleat channel even further back, but that could be said about every mountain bike shoe on the market. And a free pair of cleats is the bonus!
The most comfortable MTB shoes I have ever worn. Not only comfy, but very grippy. The clip ins are so easy to get in & out. I would highly recommend these to everyone! I won’t wear any other shoe!
They Look great, ordered an 11.5, it was snug fit, still comfortable. I believe the 12 might had been better.Shipping time was decent.I like the quality of the shoes and clips.
