I use this line for deep dropping of of South Florida, sometimes over 1/4 mile down. I use 30LB and 50LB Diawa j braid with 3 to 7 pounds of weight. The Diawa j braid has multiple cariaturistics that are advantageous to this kind of fishing. The 8 stranded construction is both quiet threw the guide's, and in the water as well as round. There are multiple color options for both high, and low visibility line. The low stretch, high sensitivity means the bites can be see, and felt. Many years of experience have led me to choose Diawa j braid x8 for this fishing application.

Bought 6 pound Diawa J-braid, thought it would be great quality - made in Japan etc.. used for light saltwater estuary, & freshwater (bass & trout) on decent 1000 shimano Reels.Instantly had abrasion / wearing issues, gained wind knots easily & snapped once or twice with little pressure. Relative to other products I've used I wouldn't rate it highly (in my opinion). Still prefer Fins / Power pro etc. I've used in the past. Also trying Berkley ultracast soon. TBA

I’ve fished with 3 different braids in this price category. Sufix, , Power Pro, and J-braid. Power Pro being my top choice by a slight margin. I’ve been using the 8, & 10 pound chartreuse Jbraid. It has excellent line lay on the spool, cast a mile. And has yet to let me down when tying the Alberto knot to my fluorocarbon leader. I’ve noticed a little color fading with age on this color. Still, at this price point. A great value IMO.

This braid is a gamechanger! It's so fine when compared with my previous 90lb braid and it casts brilliantly. It stays round on the spool which I guess must help its casting potential. It took me a little time to bed the braid in but once I'd cast a heavy jerkbait for 30 minutes, it was perfect. Another useful point if you're ham-fisted like me is that any overruns are really easy to untangle-at no point did I need to cut the braid. So, all in all, this is an excellent braid for lure fishing and it is at a great price from Fishing Tackle and Bait.
This braid is the first braid I've used when lure fishing. Ihave used it once and had no problems. Therefore I have nothing to judge it against. But it seems I have waited too long to try it. From my very limited experience of it, I have no doubt it will greatly improve my lure fishing
Smooth, round, spools up well. Casts well, no bother with wind knots or tangles. Used on 2 fixed spool reels 26lb bs 1 for bass and 1 for light lures for chub/ zander. Would recommend
I have almost exclusively use this braid fishing many land based applications. The braid never fails and has never broken from normal fishing activities. Casts well, super sensitive, super strong, you won’t be disappointed.
Very small diameter, of course, but I've had a lot of birds nest and tangles with this line. Casts OK, but tends to feed more off the reel after bait hits the water. I have to really pay attention or I have a big mess, especially in windy conditions.
I brought this braid for a Shimmano Stradic. I have used many braids over the years and this was the worst. I wanted to mainly use for casting with lures for Tailor on the west coast. Reel was loaded really well and suffered constant tangles when casting.I have since removed the braid and replaced with Grinder braid, which is much better
this is my second braid i have purchased and i can recommend it to anyone that likes to catch big fish. it will hold up on anything you catch from bigger trout and pike. i got my lures stuck many times on big weeds and i never had them break off on me with even though i had to really work to get it unstuck.
