Love the fit and look. The padding is just right for me since I usually ride 10-20 miles - I’m comfortable and not too much bulk. The waistband adjusts and has a snap closure. There’s no zipper, just a short fly length with an overlap. It works but I constantly reach gif the zipper that’s not there when I put them on.

I bought both the Backcountry brand and Fox brand shorts, they're basically the same material, same short, with a few zippers differentiating. I kept the Backcountry shorts and returned Fox brand because the Fox brand were twice as expensive and a bit too tight.

I love the look of these and the fabric is very comfortable with a good stretch. My only complaint, and it’s with other MTB shorts, are the straps on the side. I have a fairly skinny waist and I can’t seem to synch them so they stay in place. I don’t understand those straps. I wish there was a way to pull them tight from the inside. I’d still buy another pair though ;).

I absolutely love the look and quality of these shorts. They did run a tad large on me, so I will be sizing down next time. The chamois are great, but the waistband of the shorts even when tightened falls down, which could just be my body type. Will be perfect for downhill biking!!!
I like the fit on these. I’m usually a sm or med, depending on the manufacturer. The med fit well. The size chart wasn’t helpful though. I usually am a 4-6. Maybe these run a tad on the small side. I don’t normally order a med when the chart lists 8-10. Only reason I sized up here is b/c I picked up a size small off a resell site and they were too snug.
Love these shorts. Like the separate liner that is connected by two side tabs (you could cut these if you wanted) I left mine attached, they help secure the liner shorts better. Length is perfect hits above my knee. Fit is as expected Size M; I wear a size 4 pant. Moves well as you ride, no binding, inner short may ride up a bit but not bothersome. Good pocket locations. Snap closure, no zipper, which is nice. Side tab adjustment can tighten up waist of exterior short a bit. Actually works better than I expected. I ride single track dirt trails, these shorts are made for the ride!
I've been using these shorts for about a month, finally bought knee pads and they are slightly too short for knee pads. If you're standing up straight, sure they cover the knee pad but once riding these shorts will ride up a bit. For reference, I'm pretty slender usually between 120-125 and 5'7''. I haven't used the liner yet because I've got some nice chammies but tried them on and they fit quite tight - had trouble getting them over my butt. There is a pocket for cell phone on left leg and fits my iPhone xs with a thin case but it might be a squeeze if you have a larger case on your phone.Overall though, they LOOK great they just need to be about 1-2 inches longer and that pocket needs to be a little larger.
Height: 5’8”Weight: 170 lbsWaist: 31”Hips: 42”The medium waist doesn’t open far enough to pull them up past my upper thighs, but the large hangs off my waist even with the adjustable waist fully tightened (they’re literally held up by the attached liner). These shorts seem like they’re great quality, but they’re not made for thick, muscular women. Hoping to have more luck with the mens shorts.
I ordered both a medium and small. The medium pants were HUGE and the smalls were so tight they couldn't even get above my thighs. Plus, the liners are useless because the sizing is so off. The liner in the medium pants was so small I couldn't even fit one leg it in (remember, the medium pants were way too big). The liner is the small pants were teeny tiny-didn't match up to the size of the pants. Had to return both sizes.
The product is well made with nice material, the only problem I had was that it did not fit me very well. I have a longer than usual torso, so the waist line did not line up with my waist - so was a little uncomfortable. And the adjustable waist did not stretch very far
