Almost perfect if the crotch area get a zipper or velcro underneath the waist snap button. You don’t want anything to hop in that area while you’re out in the elements, or when you are off the bike, you don’t want any accident less than decency when that crotch area got some free entry/exit. :D. Overall, very awesome design especially the fact that it doesn’t have elastic waist band as those will lost elasticity over time. 28 is actually 30, tighten/loosen the strap as you go. (or grow). Inner liner is a bit tight but these material also tend to stretched out over time and lost the elasticity, so tighter now but it will still be fine later, only wear them when riding. It’s probably would fit a credit card size wallet, fine, time has changed. lol. Overall, a legit MTB shorts. Highly recommend them.

I got these shorts in size 22 for my tall, but slender 8yo daughter who is about 55” tall and weighs 59 lbs. The shorts fit great but don’t have much room to grow. Unfortunately, the included padded liner is too tight according to my daughter (she’s used to wearing another padded liner from another brand), so she gave the included liner to her little brother who is almost 5 years old and of average build for his age. They fit him fine with room to grow for a couple years. It worked out for us because I couldn’t find liners small enough in the waist for my son, but I thought it’s worth mentioning that the liner doesn’t seem TTS compared to the shorts. If your child doesn’t mind a liner that fits tight right against the skin like a pair of normal underwear, these ... MoreI got these shorts in size 22 for my tall, but slender 8yo daughter who is about 55” tall and weighs 59 lbs. Anyway, I find these shorts to be a great buy. It’s so hard to find girl-friendly MTB shorts that aren’t super long and baggy, and even harder to find them in fun colors. We’ll buy more pairs and will probably continue to pass the liners down to little bro and purchase separate liners for my daughter. Thanks, FOX, for making girl-friendly MTB clothes & please bring back the purple shorts! We need those too!

These include a padded short liner. The chamois is thin, but does seem to improve comfort for my son. The fabric is stretchy and not too warm. The only downside is the absence of a zipper pocket.

My son loves his - we just buy the next size up when he grows out of his current pairs. They take a beating and hold up perfectly, look like new - and super comfortable. Highly recommend
Purchased size 26 for my 9 1/2 yr old son who is ~ 74lbs thin build, and they fit great. He loves them for biking. They have good stretch and adjustability, and I was able to get them clean of mud and grease. Buy them for the shorts, not the chamois. The one that they come with is a thin, nondescript piece of foam. My son is happy enough with this for a 1-2 hour ride. But it wasn't really about that so I am still giving this 5 stars, and will look for upgraded chamois liners for underneath when needed.
Fit is perfect for a slim youth. Comfortable when riding, good length (on the longer side). Insert is not too stiff (my son prefers this one to a pair we purchased separately of a different brand). Belt is useful for adjusting waist. Fabric is thin, not too warm but appears durable.
Over short is good, although a bit on the short side. Liner short has pretty thin padding and while better than nothing, it was less than I was expecting. Still okay for the price.
Bought shorts for my 10yo and 7 yo using the size chart and the shell is super big on them. The 7yo’s shorts has a different waist tension system that does a good job of pulling in the waist. The 10yo’s shorts use the same waist tension system as the adult shorts and we struggle to keep the shorts from falling off.
I purchased these for my 12 year old grandson. It took two orders to get a comfortable size for him but he seems to like them, he looks good in them, and he won his last race wearing them.
The short fits perfectly. The pockets are just big enough for an iPhone 11.The liner is not the thickest but is just right, comfortable and does the job. No need for more. The combo is breathable and ensure a confortable MTB day.My new favourite.
