Amazing boot

Best boots for Achilles Tendon surgery!

The first is fine, they fit just like the other Hoka's I've bought, I always buy them one size larger than I need because your feet swell during the day and by the end of the day they still feel great. I am going to order a pair of the lower shoes for spring/summer and hopefully they will be as comfortable as the boots. Thanks for making such a great product! I have linked your boots so often on Facebook, people probably think I have stock in the company!

I bought these for walks with my dog in the fall and winter. They keep my feet 100% dry and warm in puddles and snow. The sole is great, because it has a really secure contact with the ground. They are surprisingly lightweight compared to hiking boots.I bought the all black, because I wanted a neutral color. Plus they match my black dog, black coat, and black leather gloves (handmade in Italy 😁).I considered these for some time, because I have plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. However, I don't need my custom orthotic inserts with these! My feet and my legs don't ache after long walks!I feel really secure walking in these, which is important for me, because I have slipped and fallen in the past. Great comfort/support post bunion surgery

My goal for purchase likely different than most here: in case this is helpful for anyone I’m sharing experience.Lapiplasty surgery 10/22. The surprise was having first metatarsal alignment corrected such that now I need padding in my shoe to make up for what my foot currently lacks (and will hopefully regain over time). I have Hoka running shoes, Altras, Birkenstocks, all helpful- but end of day, slightly limping again (I’m an RN), wearing to work, and dog walking on MI unpaved muddy pathways.Tried several arch supports, helpful, but still difficult at end of day. Finally, able to comfortably walk distance again. I needed ankle support, padding in shoes, as well as the support of the boot. Feel like I’m walking on super soft comfy Cush. Only minor issues getting them on in the AM: positioning tongue under laces, this is not my first choice for a work shoe in a health care setting but you can hose them off end of day: same w the clay, mud, snow slurry that we walk thru. Most I’ve walked is 8 miles easy terrain, so can’t really speak to distance or climbing experience. I tried several other hiking boots at REI and these were my favorite by far. I’ve never spent so much money on a pair of shoes before, relieved they are meeting my needs. Recommended to all healing from bunion surgery!

These boots have been a godsend for me. After really struggling with my first pair of hiking boots, I went on a mission to find the perfect pair. I tried on every brand REI sells and read hundreds of reviews. Let me tell you -- these are the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever worn. I never even had to break them in. They were as comfortable on hike one as they are about 50 hikes later.Pros: (1) They're so comfortable. It feels like wearing a sneaker. I have never had foot pain in these, even after 10+ mile days. (2) They're quite breathable. I tend to get sweaty feet and while these don't fix that problem, my feet don't swell and get super hot in them. (3) The ankle support is great. I love the laces and am able to secure my ankles as tightly or as loosely as I want, depending on the terrain and how long I'm going for. (4) They've really helped my back pain while hiking. I have an old back injury that tends to flair up while hiking, particularly when carrying a heavier pack or going over loose terrain. These boots have helped me so much. I have so much less pain the next day, even if I was carrying my full backpacking pack.Cons: (1) The price. I got these on sale and had a gift card, but they're definitely an investment piece. I would definitely recommend trying them before buying. (2) They're clunky. My boyfriend likes to call them my moon boots because they're so big. They're heavier than some hiking boots, but I actually don't notice the weight while hiking. I'm a little clumsy however, so i do occasionally trip if I don't pick my feet up enough, since they're big boots. This also means that they would take up a LOT of room if you had to pack them.Overall, I think these boots are absolutely worth 5 stars, even with the cons. I cannot recommend them enough.

Returned Kaha 2 Low GTX
2 May 2023

Planning on walking the Camino de Santiago. Wanted a light weight shoe with plenty of cushioning that has good traction & support. Have previously worn 2 different Kaha boots hiking, that fit right out of the box. The Kaha 2 rubbed my ankles. Returned them & bought the Kaha 2 boots locally. Ankle rubbing resolved, but I need to purchase insoles that have better cushioning. These are not anywhere near as plush as my 2 older pairs of Kahas. I compared the insoles & they are definitely thinner & less cushiony feeling! Thought maybe the insoles had been swapped. No they had Kaha 2 written on them. Put my old insoles in the new boots-feels much better. I would also suggest making the tongue slightly longer & or putting the loop back on the tongue as the laces ride up ...Ā MorePlanning on walking the Camino de Santiago. So disappointed in the GTX-not waterproof
31 July 2023

I wore these around the neighborhood for a few days and combined with a SuperFeet insole, they may be the best boot to wear on my trek on Kilimanjaro with my plantar fasc. I was so excited for the cushion and the comfort. At mile four of today's hike, it started to rain, I thought that this was a good opportunity to test the GTX that actually made my feet really hot on all my neighborhood hikes this week. Within ten minutes, I could tell that my feet and socks were soaked and there were water marks at several points in the boots. When I got to the car two miles later and took off my boots, not only were my socks were soaked, the liners were soaked and my toes were pruny. This will not work on Kili. Huge fail and huge disappointment for $250 GTX boots.

Will buy again when replacing
8 December 2022

I bought these for a December trip to Iceland and was mainly looking for great support, comfort, and water resistance. We hiked uneven terrain with multiple inclines, rode horses, went ATVing, and walked around a city. All around great shoe! I have a severe pronation and my feet did not hurt the entire 10 days. We also crossed several shallow rivers and I was impressed that these shoes held up to being waterproof. The only thing I wasn't pleased with is how my feet slid forward with big toes experiencing slight discomfort when hiking down a mountain with a steep grade, but also partially my fault for not stopping to adjust the laces...was tired and didn't want to lose momentum. I still give the boot 5 stars.

These boots are great for the conditions of my winter - lots of wet sloppy snow and icy arctic cold. The boot waterproof, has a wide enough toe box for a heavier sock that keeps my toes warm to -10F when hiking and as long as I am moving. (Though, I doubt they would stay warm if I was ice fishing or some other cold weather, outdoor activity where I'm standing around or sitting). I would be happy to see this boot come in a wide with for high instep and wider foot like mine so I could wear a super heavy sock. I do wear cramp-ons with them on slick icy trails. Arch support is good. Heal cushion is great. Lightweight and great for hiking year-round from -10F to +65F. I haven't tried them out in warmer weather.
