The best running shoe I have ever worn hands down.The Mach 5 is light and breathes well. For context, I’m not a super experienced runner. Always been athletic and played sports but have just recently gotten into running. Got the Mach 5s after my Adidas Ultraboosts were shot (also didn’t like them), and I was tired of using my trail running/hiking shoes on the roads. These had good reviews, were on sale, and seemed like a good all around shoe. They came yesterday and I was excited to try them out so I went on a 3.5 mile run. They surpassed every hope I had for them in every way, and today my feet don’t even feel like I went on a run yesterday. I bought a set of Mach 5 shoes for use on my treadmill to keep up my walking during the winter months. At about 150 miles, the inner material ripped, requiring me to put some moleskin on it to prevent blisters.Then surprisingly, at about 250 miles of use, and only about ~2.5 months of ownership, the sole on my left shoe blew out.After reading the warranty policy, its not clear if this still falls under warranty and with the warranty policy requiring the shoes be sent in before a replacement (leaving me with no shoes), I was forced to buy another set.So I"m hoping this set holds up better because the bottom of the sole was barely worn, but the rest of the shoe around it failed, and the warranty replacement policy doesn't help if you need a set of shoes to ... MoreI bought a set of Mach 5 shoes for use on my treadmill to keep up my walking during the winter months. I am sure this is a good shoe, but I didn't actually run on it because I felt it was a little to race focused for my needs, and I exchange it for another shoe in your line up that better suited me, the Arahi 6 which it great so far!My biggest complaint with your product is the huge name logo on the sides of your product. I am not really into being a billboard when I buy products. From my perspective, the billboard marketing strategy isn't as effective as word of mouth, so I think minimal advertising makes for a cleaner product look and demonstrates a level confidence that you produce a superior product. Because they are so comfy, roomy and fluffy, they are excellent on long haul flights, but then when you hit the pavement and start doing your long all day city walks, hiking in nature, sightseeing, tours and your runs, they come alive. Absolutely 💯 perfect travel shoes. And as I stated above, you can wear them sockless and in this fashion, they are very comfortable and provide a better feel and control for your feel when doing technical activities.I find them true to size, but there is a little bit of space up front at the toe box however when your feet start to swell, this room comes in handy.Only issue is durability of the outsole and grip on damp/wet surfaces like pavements or rocks. One needs extra attention. I wouldn't recommend rubber all the way through as it would stiffen the shoe and inhbit its flex capabilities which is great, but maybe a bit of rubber on certain high wear areas. I much prefer the shoes to wear out quicker though and be this comfortable and flexible. It's the nature of the beast really as the materials of comfortable, lite and flexible shoes will wear out quicker
I’m on my second pair of wides. These are bouncy, snappy and light with a little bit of flex which i like as a forefoot striker. They don’t feel bulky like other Hokas which keeps me buying them. Love that they don’t have overbearing arch or heal support which I don’t need as a neutral/supinating runner. The outsoles wear quick and limit the lifespan to about 250miles for me. Best on flat surfaces as they don’t protect much from uneven terrain. My only real complaint is the updated tongue. It’s thin and also constantly falls down. Please include holes in the tongue for laces like you did in the previous model!
I've been buying Hokas for 5 years now. The Mach 5 are (so far) the most versatile. I have trouble with Plantar's fasciitis sometimes when training for races (halfs, 10k) but not with these babies! They have perfect balance of being cushiony but yet remaining speedy, lightweight, and responsive. The only negative I can think of is that they wear a bit easily. The 5s really only lasted me about one training season of 4 months before I needed another pair due to wear near the inner heal. That's about 200 miles which is a bit under what I'd like to get out of a shoe before having to replace. They're so comfortable though that I sort of don't care and would gladly get a third pair!

My lower legs have a slight twist which makes my feet point about 20 degrees outward naturally, and due to a career in ballet, bone spurring on both big toes have greatly limited my flexibility and pushoff. I used to wear ASICS, but I've found that HOKA work far better for me. The early stage rocker relieves almost all the pain I used to endure because of my limited flexibility with my big toes. The toe box is sufficiently, and comfortably wide enough for me. I am able to use my orthotics to accommodate my overpronation. They are a little shorter, which works great for me. That's taking me a little getting used to. I've been playing around with adjusting my stride. With these shoes I prefer to land more toward the balls of my feet. By comparison, The Clfiftons I wore previously, I landed midfoot. I've also had to adjust my natural turnout. As I said, my feet naturally rotate outward, but i have quite a bit of room to adjust just how much I choose to rotate - a benefit of all those years of ballet. Doing so has helped me relieve knee pain. Over the years, I've had physical therapists and doctors tell me that I won't be able to keep running. But I have two great PTs now who are very good at analyzing my running style and correcting me as I need, including helping me choose the correct shoes. They both agree that the HOKAs are a good choice for me.

I was looking for something close to the zoomX pegasus turbo 2 as those are the ideal trainers for me. I'm usually a Nike guy and have been using the Invincible 2 for long runs and racing in the vapor next percent 2. Both of those shoes are incredible and I figured I'd give another brand a chance and be adventurous. First time wearing them I walked around for a bit and they definitely are good for support and comfort while strolling around but nothing crazy. But... I ran 5.5 yesterday and I was shocked how unresponsive these were. Again, these shoes 100% could've been defective because I felt as if I was running with no shoes on and the foam was almost requiring me to exert more energy opposed to helping me with my run and supporting my joints. I'm not sure if anyone has recommendations or if I should give another Hoka shoe a chance.
