Liquitex Satin Fluid Medium gives acrylic paint a satin sheen finish. It is lightfast and archival and allows you to extend colour without affecting acrylic stability, whilst increasing colour depth and transparency. It can also be used as a collaging adhesive for lightweight items when used straight from the tube, and can be used as a fixative for pastels, graphite and chalk if diluted in an atomiser. This medium can be used as a non-removable varnish to protect your work and add a satin surface sheen. To use simply mix as much medium as you like with your acrylic paint until you get the viscosity and transparency you want the more you add the thinner and more transparent your colour will become. You can dilute up to 25% with water (distilled water will give the best results). The medium is semi-opaque when wet, but clear when dry. To use as a fixative mix 1 part medium to 1 part distilled water and apply with an atomiser or airbrush. To use as a collage glue apply with a brush or sponge.
