This is a review for the super heavy extra thick gesso. If you mix your gesso, if you use it with other mediums, then this is a good product you might want to try. Feels and looks a bit like creamy paste and it will not pour. A quart can be stretched out to 2-4 quarts if used conventionally with water or other mediums. I inherited 72 gallons of acrylic ink, the entire range of colors, and I use this with those to make colored gesso of all types, as I prefer to paint on tinted backgrounds. Anyway, good stuff, you won't go wrong even if you end up using it conventionally, as a little goes a long way. Thank you.

I use this gloss medium to finish my acrylic paintings. It puts a crystal clear protective coat over them that makes the colors richer but does not change the color. I can sand it a bit if I don't want it to be glossy. I can even put a cold wax over it to create a richer oil-painting-like finish on the acrylic paintings. Also, useful for extending the Liquitex pigment.

I mix this with gac 800 and floetrol for a transparent background, and without the gac 800 as a medium for my acrylic pours. It increases the transparency of acrylic paint, as well as keeping the acrylic paint colours bright and beautiful. I love acrylics, but i always get frustrated that they dry up so quick and i end up wasting paint or being unable to mix the same color again! This slow dry medium is really effective in lengthening the working period of your paints. Liquitex Acrylic Gesso is my favorite. Love the smooth texture. I use white and gray most often. I love the white so much, that in addition to a ground on my canvas, I use it for white paint in my paintings as well. Whenever I get low, it always seems that Blick's has the best prices to grab my reorder. Their shipping is always fast too!
As a professional artist I find Liquitex Professional Matte Medium to be of superb quality. It is easy to use. Mixes with water and most acrylic paints well. It is also completely safe and non-toxic to use. I don't know what I'd do without this stuff when thinning acrylic ink. Too much water, and the ink puddles and bleeds. But with the medium, no problem. The ink can be thinned indefinitely and the effects of oil painting glaze can be achieved. Additionally, the satin medium well matches the semi-gloss of the ink. It can itself be thinned considerably with water to lay flat and not get that thick, plastic look. Luminous effects are within reach. Lovely stuff.
Loved it. Should last me an extremely long time. Not sure if this is an 'issue' per se but I technically drew my color wheel out on raw canvas using pencil. And when I went in to apply the phenomenal clear gesso it smeared it? Wondering if that is what is supposed to happen or normal or,,,,? Anyways boy is it heavy. Blick had my back when they sent me matte white instead of clear and handled it with care like pros. Stuff on here is getting expensive due to inflation but at least the dollar amount of this clear gesso actually matches the quality AND quantity
I love this clear gesso that has a gritty base. For Acrylic painters This allows you to have texture where you may want it or the entire surface - for pastel art it provides a sandy texture on any surface! Use a spatula to apply or use a sponge or a brush to apply. For more texture sprinkle Pumice Stone 4F grade and let dry.Thoroughly Washes out of any brush before- it dries. The older the brush the more varied the application of the Liquitex clear gesso. Clean up is a breeze
