Medela Nipple Silicone Contact S is a silicone nipple, size S, transparent and adaptable to the breast, to facilitate breastfeeding. Made with soft, thin, malleable and odorless silicone, this accessory solves breastfeeding problems, such as inverted or shallow nipples, helping the baby to grasp the breast. At the same time, it protects the mother's nipple in case of cracking, tenderness or pain. The result is comfortable breastfeeding for both mother and baby. When choosing the correct silicone nipple size (S,M or L) you should consider the size of the nipple so that the silicone nipple sits comfortably without squeezing and the nipple fills the cavity to its width. You should also consider the baby's mouth. For premature babies, a smaller size may be needed to ensure the baby can grip the silicone nipple. Available in 3 sizes: S/16 mm, M/20 mm or L/24 mm.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] I can see how they could be extremely helpful for others, but unfortunately they just didn’t work for us. I used these as recommended by the hospital and my midwife to help my baby latch better while I was suffering from extreme nipple damage. Unfortunately I still experience pain and it didn’t help with her latch. They also didn’t stay well stuck on, so my LO was able to flick it off constantly and it would take 10 minutes or longer to get the shield on and bub latched as well. Of you are to purchase these nipple shields, definitely measure first to make sure you have the correct size otherwise they can be uncomfortable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] Having a 5 week premature bub breast feeding was difficult from the very beginning. I was adamant I wanted to continue despite having extremely sore nipples from a poor latch, the lactation consultant in the hospital provided me with the Medela breast shield in a size 24 and it instantly made a huge difference to my pain levels and my babies latch. The material is flexible and easy to apply to the breast/nipple. I loved the storage container so I could keep tabs on the shield at all times, this was a huge factor in the success of my breast feeding and without it I would have definitely not continued for over 12 months.

I was leaving hospital without my baby being able to latch properly I was so stressed!! She had a small mouth and luckily just before I left a midwife gave me this exact shield. IT WORKED!!!! after 3 days my baby could feed. They’re amazing, work fantasticly and help with nipple pain too. 11/10 for me! They’re expensive but worth it. If you can definitely try and ask the hospital for 1 or 2 as they are the exact same but will save you $30+ They are also easy to clean I would just boil the kettle, pop them in a cup of hot water for a few mins and leave to air dry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] Due to some complications with jaundice and having to express and bottle feed my son in his first week, we were really struggling to latch. My midwife suggested these as it would feel a bit like a bottle in bubs mouth. She called it a 'non slip mat' for baby! Lo and behold, it worked and we breastfed for the first time! I bought two packets thinking I would be using these for the next year, but eventually we achieved a good latch even without them. So don't go overboard, just buy one pack! I gifted the other to a friend. I also like that it comes with a little carry case so you can always have it with you without it getting crumby or grubby.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] These are the only nipple shields that ended up really working for me. I needed them due to nipple damage from a shallow latch. These shield are the softest and most flexible ones I found. I believe that softness also helped my baby latch easier with these. They were a good size very easy to apply and remove with one hand and stayed on well where others I found slipped around and fell off. Super easy to clean too.

Greetings everyone my name is Emile Rudolph a mother of 3kids I’m from New Jersey, I wasn’t able to get a personal loan to startup a business. I was so worried what’s the problem.. So I had to do some history checks on my credit. I noticed I had some couple of closed accounts, late payments of fees medical bills and few credit card debts. My score went low to 456. Then I spoke to a friend about these issues.. He then recommended me to a credit professional (TROVIAN CREDIT REPAIR). I contacted them and they gave me assurance that in less than 7days everything will be fine..After 2days i started getting good notifications about my report. My credit score increased to 796. Helped me back on my breastfeeding journey!
16 September 2023

I was very discouraged while in the hospital as my baby did not want to latch. I have inverted nipples and one nipple is smaller than the other so I completely felt like a failure. I also had cracking and my nipples were bleeding so we ended up formula feeding our baby until I healed a little to start pumping. I was exclusively pumping for the first month and decided that I really want to try breastfeeding again. I went to a lactation nurse who was absolutely amazing and helped me to begin my breastfeeding journey again! My one nipple is perfect, baby latches on quick, but my other is small and he has trouble so she provided me with this shield and it’s a total game changer. Because my baby is used to a bottle he absolutely loves the shield and goes to town! ... MoreI was very discouraged while in the hospital as my baby did not want to latch. Life saver

These were a life saver as I got used to breastfeeding. Used them every time I fed for probably the first 3-4 months. Helped tremendously and not sure I would still be breastfeeding if I hadn’t used these. Was given one in the hospital and was told to use it as a lady resort but I used it every feed. Do whatever makes you most comfortable! Your baby is going to do great wether you use formula or breast milk. Do what works for you and your baby but I found these to be so helpful with our breast feeding journey! I would place in boiling water after every use and let it air dry. There world be times it would have a film on it and it wouldn’t stick as well so I would clean really well with a bristle brush then put in boiling water to sanitize. My newborn was not latching and we were both getting very frustrated. My mother-in-law suggested these nipple shields and it was a night and day difference. She latched immediately and we’ve been able to breast-feed without issue ever since! After a couple of weeks are able to start having some success nursing without the shield and I’m hopeful that this is a good training tool to eventually be fully shield free soon. Our pediatrician/lactation consultant approves as well!

They don't stay on if you have a larger bust
13 April 2024

These don’t stay on. I have a larger bust (38 DDD postpartum), so maybe that’s why. But they don’t stay on AT ALL. Very disappointed. My baby lached right away after delivery, but he unfortunately had to go to NICU and he’s still there 1 month later, so he of course is on a bottle now while I pump. He now won’t breastfeed (I’m hoping that changes once he’s home, but I don’t know). I tried these with the lactation consultant and it seemed for a moment it would work, he seemed interested. But like I said, they wouldn’t stay on so he screamed and we went back to the bottle.
