Michelin Commander III Cruiser Tires

Michelin Commander III Cruiser tires offer the best wet grip and the shortest stopping distances in wet conditions among leading competitors. Michelins Premium Touch Technology patented sidewall design of the Michelin Commander III tires enhance the styling of V-Twin motorcycles. The front and rear tread compound use 100% silica reinforced rubber for maximum performance in wet conditions. The new, more rounded profile as compared to the Michelin Commander II tire optimizes the contact patch across the entire profile for a more planted feel even during cornering. To ensure the best level of performance and safety, our ranges are developed based on a uniform fitting to the front and rear. It is therefore recommended that different ranges are not mixed on the same motorcycle. If different generations are mixed, it is advisable to fit the Michelin Commander III to the front wheel. The use of the tire and other vehicle data and information accessible through this webpage is limited to persons located in the United States of America and Canada. All data should be verified by a tire professional, the vehicle placard (typically located on frame), and/or the vehicle owners manual.

One of the best tires on the market. Whether you're riding with a passenger or loaded with gear, this tire can handle in all the elements.A little pricey but you definitely get what you want from the control of your cruiser.I would highly recommend this tire for the true road adventurer riders.

ACTUAL RANGE WAS 13,000 FOR REAR TIRE

The advertised range claims 25,000+ miles however, at 13,000 miles, the white threads are already protruding along the centerline of the rear tire. The centerline of the rear tire is beyond bald; the rubber is dangerously thin. These tires lasted about half of the advertised range.Wear bars are diminished as well.At 13,000 miles, the rear tire is now unsafe for use.

I was waiting for my stock tires (Dunlop Elite 3) on my 2016 Indian Chief Darkhorse to wear down so I could get a set of Michelin Commander II's. I ended up getting a flat rear tire and was excited to get a new set. I had the Commander II's on my old bike and loved them, they were my favorite tires so far. When I went to order them, I saw that Michelin just released the Commander III's. After comparing specs between the two I went with the new 3's. I could not be happier with my decision. Both sets have great road feel and handle wet conditions with ease, but somehow Michelin was able to improve their already awesome tires in just about every way. Best tires yet!
29 July 2021

Before these i had Michelin Commander II on my Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic. I got over 17,000 miles out of them and would have gotten more if i had the pressure correct. Bike calls for 29psi, but i found at that pressure, they started cupping at around 14,000 miles. These are not the same as the OEM tires. Make sure the pressure is over 35psi. I have been running these tires at 40 psi myself and they feel great. Looks like Michelin made the rear tread thicker on the III.

Commander III
1 September 2021

I got these tires back in July. Rode a lot on some dry pavement handled really well Compared to the Dunlops. Just got caught in the storm of ida in North Carolina. Rode 65 miles home on the interstate running about 55-70mph. Tires handled amazing in the rain. Have about 6500 miles on them so far doesn?t look like they have any signs of wear. I don?t know the exact wear to the 32nd, but I can complain. Probably 50 to 75% was 2up.

Good and bad too
28 August 2020

Not sure how to rate this but here goes - and I was almost tempted to rate it at a 2 star. The tires are good BUT - after installing on a XL1200L I noticed that on the front tire there was a BIG gap between the fender and the tire. You know kinda like how dirt bike fenders sit way higher over the tire. It looks crappy. I thought maybe I'd ordered the wrong size at first. I checked and I did order the correct size but the side walls were quite a bit shorter. I'd ordered the Commander II last time. Kinda pisses me off. Guess I'll try and rig the fender - maybe slot the bracket on the fender to bring it down as much as possible. This was the 100/90 B19 front tire.

Great Tire

This is my second set of Commander III Tires and I can honestly say these are way better than a set of Dunlops from the HD Factory.I have a 2017 HD Fatboy that I use for mostly touring/cruising riding. The factory Dunlops we're shot after 5k miles. I replaced them with my first set of Commander III's, I put over 15k miles on these and wore them down to the core on the rear tire, when these get to the TWI, there's no pushing it they are done! In rain, water channels off the tire well but creates a rooster tail of water off the front tire, but still maintains exceptional grip compared to factory Dunlops. The majority of the contact patch is smooth for upright riding and the rubber compound is fairly soft, I haven't noticed much in ride quality between the Michelins ... MoreThis is my second set of Commander III Tires and I can honestly say these are way better than a set of Dunlops from the HD Factory.I have a 2017 HD Fatboy that I use for mostly touring/cruising riding. Alot of other reviews state that there's balancing issues and vibrations, I haven't had any issues in either of the two sets I've bought.

Michelin is the only manufacturer for me.
23 July 2021

I simply love the Commander lll?s. I previously sported Commander ll?s and I thought they were great tires. I ride pretty aggressively, and those tires held up for 11,000 miles. These new Commander lll?s grab noticeably better. I?m sure some of that improvement was due to using Tire Beads for balancing, but I anticipate getting even more mileage out of these tires. If I only rode interstates or other flat straight highways, I would have chosen the Touring variant, however, I like my twisties, and switchbacks, so I went with the Cruiser variant. Michelin is the only manufacturer I feel truly comfortable with and so far, they have never let me down. I am also a huge proponent of Tire Beads for balancing the tires.

Not as advertised! The COMMANDER II was supposed to get 15K-20K miles.Michelin advertised that MORE miles should be had on the new Commander III.Not on my Street Glide, and I ride conservatively.I got 11K + miles to the wear bar.The 2 stars don't reflect RevZills, just the tires.

Arrived within days of ordering ??. I put these on a 2021 Indian Scout and it rides like a completely different (better) bike! Acceleration is faster with much less threat of lost traction. But the main difference is cornering. These cruiser Commander III?s corner extremely aggressively and provide much more peace of mind than my stock Kenda?s. I highly recommend changing out your stock Kenda tires for these bad boys ASAP!
