We put our sweet boy at peace just one month ago, and while my heart is still broken and we are devastated, I know that feeding him Orijen contributed to the unbelievably resilient, strong and otherwise healthy dog that we had for the last 9 months. Kramer went into remission in June and lived his absolute best life in his last few months, despite going through 26 weeks of chemo. After we switched his food to Orijen 6 Fish, his gas completely disappeared, his other digestive issues were nonexistent too. Everybody that saw him could not believe that he was sick, because he was truly thriving. Despite losing Kramer to lymphoma, we have continued to feed our other two dogs Orijen's 6 Fish. On top of the quality and freshness of the ingredients, I fell more in love with the company after they decided to pull their products from Chewy when they were bought by PetSmart. I love what Orijen stands for. I love that no matter where I go to buy their food the price remains the same. It is definitely an expensive food to feed our dogs, considering they're both 70lbs. However, our dogs eat less quantities of this food because there are no unnecessary fillers. Below is a photo of Kramer in the midst of his chemo treatment.

Excellent!

The after sales service is great! I had a subscription plan for Acana grassland recipe but my dogs didn’t want to eat it when the first bag came. I tried to change the flavor of the 2nd bag but the website doesn’t allow it and I thought I’m stuck with the 2nd bag which will go to waste too. However, after posting a review on it. Kibbles reached out to me and offered to help me amend the order at no extra cost and give me a discount voucher as well! So I can truly say this is a trustworthy company who really value their customers. I highly recommend the subscription plan and will continue to order from this website.

Our 7 month old is such a picky eater and on top of that, we recently discovered that he is allergic to both beef and chicken! This essentially eliminates 90% of the food out there. In addition, grain-inclusive food causes his stool to be soft. We went from Taste of the Wild (TotW) Pacific Stream Puppy to TotW Pacific Stream Ancient Grains to TotW High Prairie (he loves this and has no issues eating it, but he breaks out in hives and sheds terribly), then back to TotW Pacific Stream (all life stage - he ate two full 28 lb. bags before stopping one day, cold turkey), TotW Pine Forest (only ate half a 5 lb. bag) and TotW High Prairie Puppy (because he loves the all-stage formula and the puppy version does not have chicken in the ingredient, but has beef). After doing ... MoreOur 7 month old is such a picky eater and on top of that, we recently discovered that he is allergic to both beef and chicken! Not only does this food smell like FISH (unlike Pacific Stream), our dobie finally eats a dry dog food without reservation. We feed him 3.75 cups a day per direction and I am happy to report that he is continuing to gain weight and has no problem finishing a serving. The only reservation I have with ORIJEN is the price tag. At over $100 for a 25 lb. bag, it is NOT cheap (double the cost of Taste of the Wild with 3 lb. less ingredient per bag). Overall, I'll continue to feed our Dobie puppy Six Fish 4 lb. bag and then commit to the brand 100% if he doesn't regress and stops eating it cold turkey like he did with the previous Taste of the Wild food.

I'm from Taiwan and I only choose Canadian Orijen
6 June 2022

I have two dogs, a Sheltie and a stray dog I have adopted two months ago.One of them doesn't like drinking water and the other is not interested in bland dog food. So I mix six fish with water as a staple. Surprisingly, they can accept it at the same time.In Asia, dog food has not received enough attention, and many dog food ingredients are opaque. I am proud that I purchased dog food exclusively from Canada for my two sweethearts.

Ingredients on Website not the same as bag
6 March 2023

I’m not sure why there’s a contradiction but the ingredients list on your website for this dog food is different than what’s on the actual bag. I bought this online based on the ingredients showing only fish for protein cause my dog is highly allergic. I noticed that she’s been itching like crazy lately and checked the ingredients on the bag and noticed the freeze dried beef, lamb and goat! This is absolutely ridiculous!

I received the 4.5 pound Orijen Six Fish Biologically Appropriate Dog Food made with fresh, whole, wild and sustainably caught fish, New England mackerel, herring, flounder, redfish, monkfish and silver hake. I was immediately impressed with the easy open bag that has a plastic grip strip to keep the bag closed and fresh! This bag was so easy to open and close! This product is made in the USA Kentucky Kitchens which is very important to me. All ingredients are clearly listed on the bag as well as all nutritional values and even a toll free number to call with any questions. Orijen is also listed as having been award winning biologically appropriate dog food in 2014, 2015 and 2016, making this a brand I am very comfortable giving to my Labrador retriever who honestly ... MoreI received the 4.5 pound Orijen Six Fish Biologically Appropriate Dog Food made with fresh, whole, wild and sustainably caught fish, New England mackerel, herring, flounder, redfish, monkfish and silver hake. The kibble is of a nice size (not too big or too small) and does not have a strong smell at all. He had NO untoward effects from the Orijen Six Fish Dog Food and happily would've chowed down more if he had been allowed to.When it comes to my dog, he truly deserves the very best and Orijen Six Fish Biologically Appropriate Dog Food will become a part of his daily routine. He loves it!

The Ingredients must have been altered or changed
19 February 2023

I have been feeding my German Shepherd Orijen 6 fish for over a year... over the last 3 months something has changed in the recipe - although not listed on the package (I believe companies have 6 months to adjust their packaging to list new or modified ingredients). Last two bags caused incredible itching, and ear infection due to an allergen that was not there before. I changed to open farm in between the last two bags and itching was drastically reduced, then just bought the 6 fish again as an experiment and dogs are itching again like crazy. So disappointed, was really happy with this food in the past even though it is expensive it was worth it.... Not sure if the Mars buyout has impacted the ingredients ... but something has drastically changed.

We spent a good year
21 June 2022

We spent a good year working with the vet and trying different foods due to my dogs severe allergy issues. Despite being on daily medication, she was still miserable and often turned up her nose at food. I eventually discovered this brand doing my own research, and it completely turned everything around. It’s the only food we have found that our dog can tolerate and not irritate her allergies. She’s been on it consistently for 3 years now and is happy and healthy. She still gets excited when she recognizes the new box of food arriving on our porch.

Yummy but pricey
28 February 2023

My Golden Retriever Puppy loves Orijen foods, especially six fish, which I like conceptually because the first couple of ingredients are whole fish and processing is gentler than most kibble. The problem comes in when you do the math and realize the price level is the same as a raw meat diet, so I am solely paying for convenience and assurance of a balanced meal. I might continue to use this in combination with raw, but when saving no money, it may become a smaller and smaller proportion of each meal.

no other dry food can beat Orijen
18 January 2023

I was very excited to start feeding my rescue dog Orijen even before we got her. Started her on the Original recipe but found that she has major sensitivities so we tried Six Fish. Her skin and coat are now healthy and soft. She is at a healthy weight, good stool, and overall has more energy. I feel great knowing i am feeding the best quality, nutrient dense, biologically appropriate food for my dog. Very grateful for Champion Pet Foods.
