On the big GS I can regularly get to 45 degrees of lean (per the BMW app) on clean dry roads without it feeling dicey. Usually I just carry a top box on the bike but sometimes will do two-up loaded for camping. I just put a second set on and unless I hear of something else that works as well for my riding, I'll get these when I burn through this set.

1000 mile review. Husky Norden 901. On the pavement these tires inspire great confidence. Wet, dry, standing water, torrential downpour, you name it. When the pavement ends and you hit the gravel, they handle surprisingly well. Better than expected. Deep gravel is what it is, and these aren't a knobby tire. Sand gets pretty sketchy. If you're on mostly packed gravel or dirt they're great. Smooth and quiet on the road, just like they look. Also, after a thousand miles, maybe 200 of it on horribly maintained mountain dirt roads, these aren't showing wear yet. Took a star away, probably unjustly, because I don't think people really read 5 star reviews and if you hit a patch of sand over an inch deep with these you'll wish you hadn't.

I had no complaints with the originals I took off. I think those were single compounds, and these are dual, thus the Scorpion II. Can't comment on tread life yet as not enough mileage. (500 miles) They grip well on dry and wet pavement. They are quiet and smooth. I am not aggressive Rider and only occasionally gravel. So far I'm satisfied. They are more expensive than many others, though.

Great tire, but long lasting?
29 August 2024

Great tires! Very grippy on both dry and wet pavement. 4 stars only because of the tread life after 2,700 miles about a third of the tread is gone. So maybe good for 8k to 9k miles. So if you put a lot of miles per year on the bike not so great. Maybe that's good for this tire but I was expecting better performance in this area. Maybe my expectations were too high. Otherwise it's a great tire. I'd buy again for sure.

Perfect for a Tiger 1050
22 August 2019

I recently bought a 2008 Triumph Tiger 1050 that still had the original Michelin Road S tires on it. Not that many miles on them, but they were 11 years old. Yikes. So the search for tires began. After considering Continentals and the newer offerings from Michelin, I settled on the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II. I figured if these are the tires of choice for bikes like the Ducati Multistrada, they'd probably be good enough for a Tiger. Were they more expensive than other tires I was considering? Yes. Are they cooler looking? Yes. Do they make my bike look even more awesome than it did before? Yes. Do they handle better than 11 year old Michilens? Hell yes. When I first received these tires, one of the first things I noticed was that the tread depth is good and deep. ... MoreI recently bought a 2008 Triumph Tiger 1050 that still had the original Michelin Road S tires on it. Hell yes. When I first received these tires, one of the first things I noticed was that the tread depth is good and deep. The rubber compound seems nice and tacky. The extra cool factor is these tires have a red scorpion on the sidewall, as well as scorpions molded in the center of the tread, so everyone can clearly see you have the best tires around. After leaving them sitting in the sun on an August afternoon in Missouri, these tires were pliable and fairly easy to mount. I used balancing beads (counteract) to balance them. With the new tires spooned on, I took a about a 150 mile ride to get them scrubbed in. The difference in ride quality and handling was immediately noticeable. These tires roll smooth, and stick through corners, not that I'm Marc Marquez or anything. The tip in is quick and predicable, and mid corner corrections are easy. These tires gave me much more confidence in cornering. You know the "recommended speed" signs for curves? With these tires you can take that speed and double it. Breaking is much better over the old Michelins as well, although I'm not sure how fair it is to compare these tires heads up to tires that were 11 years old.I only have about 500 miles on these tires so far, but they're showing little to no signs of ware. I've ridden interstate, twisty two lanes in the Ozarks, and a couple of miles of gravel roads, all of which these tires have handled without flinching. To rip off Ferris Bueller, they're so choice. If you have have the means, I highly recommend picking them up.

Solid All-Around Sport Touring Tire that isn't scared of the dirt

I've had these tires for over 15,000 miles across two motorcycles and I swear by them. They deliver exactly what I look for in an all-round tire.+ Great dry grip, especially once warmed up+ Fantastic wet grip+ Great feel & feedback, even with electronic suspension, giving confidence+ the tires are "soft" all around, meaning they deliver an improvement in riding comfort compared to other tires I've used on the same bikes (Angel GT, Sport Demon)+ Not scared of dirt at all. They aren't a knobby of course, but I've taken my Multistrada off road 2up, riding down gravel roads, through dry river beds, and across light sand without much drama. They aren't made for deep sand. mud, or jumping on rocks, but do better than the 10 in 90/10 would imply.+ Good tire life for ... MoreI've had these tires for over 15,000 miles across two motorcycles and I swear by them. About 7,000 miles doable on the rear on the Multistrada, and I'm looking at getting around 8,000-10,000 miles out of the rear on the V7III.- The rear will square off in the middle fairly quickly on dead straight and hot Texas highways, but I don't feel that impacting handling in any significant fashion. I think the "soft" construction helps mask the edges.Overall, highly recommended if you want solid performance, for a solid amount of miles, and some of those miles take you off the beaten path!I've also done a video review of them after my first set on my Multistrada , please feel free to check that out here: https://youtu.be/QN04wmbSXFk

Just changed these out at the 10K mile mark. Trying out a set of Conti road attack 3 this time around to see how the 2 compare on stick and distance. Riding a R1200GS, I commute near daily, occassionally in the winter rain. Have been caught in the occasion downpour up in the Sierras and was very happy with the wet performance. Living in San Francisco and with lots of coastal riding means plenty of wet roads from fog and twisties are a typical weekend ride for me. As for stick, I have found myself pushing these tires with the upmost of confidence in turns and wear down to the outer edges. Took them on some fire roads, dirt/gravel, but not overly loose, they were as expected for a 90/10 tire. Mud, I am sure would have been a challenge. Was a mountain road so plenty of vertical change to test grip climbing and ascending. At 10K the rear has clearly squared of, I am getting into the wear indicators on both the front and rear.Overall I really loved these tires, trying the Continentals out to get the feel of a similar tire. The single compound differential heat method of Continental so far is showing a better transition into turns. The Pirellis did have a little of transition feel on turns, but nothing crazy and faded away over time, The Pirellis have set the bar high for stick in turns and wet performance. We will see how mileage compares with my Contis and stick for that matter. Just took a quick easy tour through the local coastal mountains to get some wear in on a wet day, so still need a dry run to see how the perform on a dry day. Like I said, I am just checking out all the hype on the Road 3s. Will likely buy another set of the Pirellis, they have been a great tire

Very Tacky Beautiful Sports Touring Tire

These came stock on my MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Rosso and I love them. Such a predictable turn in and the traction is great. Not too concerned about the mileage out of them as they sat for 3.5 yrs. before I just bought my 2021 MV last year and I know from cycling, rubber dry rots after a few years. Just got a nail in my rear tire at 3300+ miles and these still have great tread life on them. I think I'll just go with another set!

They felt very well planted with no twitching or sign of loosing contact, granted lean angle reduction combined with smooth throttle application also helped.Last trip was to the track, Horse Thief Mile at Willow Springs to be exact. Tire pressure was set to 30/32, and again with loaded panniers the tires handled the track admirably well at a fast pace. The only slip I felt was coming out of turn 6 where the rear stepped out a few inches and immediately regained traction after. This happened when I got comfortable with the track and picked up the pace later in the day.So far with a little over 4,000 miles the tires have plenty of life left. There is a slight amount of flatspotting on the rear tire, but that's to be expected when traveling from AZ to CA. Had I ran the tires on the long journey at the bike's recommended PSI, I'm certain it would have less flatspotting. These are amazing tires for the twisties, everyday commuting and rain, granted one considers what their design parameters are. There is very little competition in the tire market with a 21" front size when it comes to grippy road rubber.
