I haven't used posca markers previously and I bought this mostly to be able to put white highlights over pen or marker drawings (eye sparkle etc) instead of using gel pen which isn't opaque enough. I've tried it on several papers now and the paint always seems to pill the paper, and I'm not pressing hard, just letting the paint flow. Maybe the nibs are just that rough. Will be better off with regular acrylic and small brush. I wanted to like this for the convenience but it's meh for me unfortunately.

My oldest son showed me these in store and was saying how amazing they are. I bought a half dozen and he has been loving them. Really cool and vibrant colors that make their art stand out. I ended up buying another half dozen for my youngest and he's been using them every day. Super pleased with these and the quick shipping from Blick! *****

My hobby is painting rocks. In all my arsenal of pens, paints, etc this is my absolute favorite acrylic pen for outlining. It's hard to find an extra fine point tip like this. And I can't find anything similar at other crafting stores. I live in rural NC with no Blick store nearby - I'm thankful for your online ordering capabilities.

I'm sure many people have remarked upon this, so forgive the repeat: the paint-to-nib activation process is TEDIOUS. Shake-shake-shake, then press-press-press, then shake-shake-shake, then press-press-press, then keep repeating until you're almost convinced the markers are dead and you'll have to return them--oh, wait, I see color!!Ooh, I did not like that part. However, I'm still giving them 5 stars because they've worked beautifully since then. I've used them on two greeting cards I've made so far, and the colors are consistent and bright. Very pretty.
I've put off buying these because I already have a gouache set...I figured it would be a waste to get paint pens but BOY WAS I WRONG! These guys lay down paint very well and dry really quickly! They're more convenient then lugging around a gouache palette and don't have as much setup time.Drawback is blending the colors together on the paper... The pen tips will absorb the other color and have to be wiped off a bit. Maybe use a separate brush in that case!
Bought open stock in various colors and tips to try, from fine to chisel and bright colors plus brown. The instructions to bring the paint from the barrel to the tip worked well. They did not bleed through two different brands of multi-media sketchbooks. When they arrived I did a spontaneous sketch and found out they're fun for sketching and doodling. I find they inspire me to put something on paper when I'm blank. Information I've come across says they are not lightfast but haven't tried fixative or any coatings so don't know how that would work. Also, not waterproof though not blendable. Watercolor markers won't cover and they have a matte finish. Curious to see if they really stick on glass? Yes, unlike Sharpies, they don't smear and are easy to apply. Again, not ... MoreBought open stock in various colors and tips to try, from fine to chisel and bright colors plus brown. All Posca markers in this order worked fine. However, all but two were returned. This was not the medium needed, and would not have worked for our projects. Fortunately, seeing and touching these markers gave a feel for the end users to zero in and find the more appropriate highlighters. Thanks to you customer service for directing this purchase to a smaller batch to sample and review, thus avoiding the hassle of buying and returning a bulk quantity.I would prefer my subsequent purchase of simple samples to be sent by more expedient and economical USPS 1st class.
I decided to give the white Posca pen another chance and glad I did. I originally purchased the .07 mm pin tip pen and that did not work the way I was hoping - it was as if there isn't any pigment at all coming out of the tip except for a watered-down fluid, no matter how much I shake it. I decided to try the 0.9-1.3 mm bullet shaped point and that works perfectly for me. I just tried both and the 0.9 bullet tip works great - the other one doesn't.
I purchased half a dozen before the holidays as I paint storefront/restaurant and residential windows for any holiday. Usually using a different product which became difficult to locate in colors needed, I decided to try a 'new to me' product, hence POSCA.The colors went on smoothly, like butter, they were vibrant, colors standing out against the dark glass of the storefronts as hoped! They were quite easy to remove, however did leave an opaque film that was also easy to remove although it did take 3-5 complete cleanings to achieve a perfectly clear glass as needed. I didn't really expect the colors to blend, and they did not if that's what you need, however I don't think people usually think of using these on glass (I usually use Permanent Oil Markers so I don't ... In this case I feel the markers are a bit expensive for the actual liquid (paint) in the marker for it's price. However I was pleased with all the colors I purchased with one exception and that was the Jumbo SILVER. Unfortunately I purchased the largest size possible then didn't use it at all. The silver went on smoothly as they all did, but the color coming out was not blended at all and came out in streaks. I was forced to remove and redo anything I touched with silver marker.Passerbys could have easily marked this artwork with their fingers...luckily they didn't!Overall a four star rating 5 stars could have been achieved if it took less time for cleanup on glass. I will use this product again in the future!
I recently purchased the Uni Posca Paint Markers - Monotone Colors, Set of 8, Medium Tip, 2.5 mm, and I'm thrilled with the results. The medium tip strikes a perfect balance between precision and coverage, allowing me to create detailed artwork with ease. The monotone color palette is not only aesthetically pleasing but also versatile, offering a cohesive range for various projects. #sweepstakes
