A slam-dunk near perfect trail runner!

This new Peregrine is pretty much as close to perfect as any trail shoe I've run in. The last Peregrine I had was the 11, and it was fine, if a little stiff and heavy. The 13 is so much lighter, the upper vastly improved, more flexible, and with more give in the forefoot. The cushioning is the revelation here - it feels so much more forgiving and better cushioned, while still having the gorgeous stability of the rock plate. The traction is improved with the new lug pattern, and it still has the terrific lockdown for super technical trails. I've been running in the Xodus Ultra, which I still love for half marathon and longer trail races due to the incredible comfort of the dual density sole, but this is now my absolute go to daily runner for training runs on the ... MoreThis new Peregrine is pretty much as close to perfect as any trail shoe I've run in. Big improvement from Peregrine 12

These newer model are a 10/10 improvement from the last peregrine model. They feel much more sturdy, the material can handle my long mountain trail runs, and they feel great on my feet. I was hesitant after my Peregrine 12 caused blisters, ripped in numerous spots and completely fell apart after 6 months of use. But so far, these are WAY better.

I bought these last month and plan to use them for trekking in Nepal. I guide there and am very familiar with the trail and what I need. I've been putting them to the test in the Rocky Mountains on similar terrain as the trek. These peregrines have good stability on uneven surface and they are grippy on rock which is helpful for descending steep trails. The rock plate for foot protection was important to me and so far I'm happy with that. They are also lightweight but have great cushion. Since they are designed for long distances, I am confident they will withstand the trekking of 130 miles.

Good for every activity
28 December 2023

I first purchased this shoe to years ago to train for walking the Camino de Santiago. I was in Palm Springs for the winter so also used it to hike the surrounding mountains. And to my gym workouts. It’s an all-around shoe that’s comfortable and high performing. I’m now on my 3rd pair.

Great shoe but not for me
6 March 2024

I've come to love Saucony running shoes but this one is just not for me. I prefer a little more heel-to-toe drop - 4 mm just doesn't seem enough. This is personal taste. The rest of the shoe is great. I'm normally about a size 7. I bought the 7.5 and they were perfect but I don't like my toes to be too closed in and I bought them so I could wear a little thicker sock.

Great update on the Peregrine 13's
17 March 2023

I absolutely have loved the Peregrine line from Saucony. Last year's version was pared down and I called them my forest slippers. The added cushion for the 13's are a game changer for me. I would only run about 10-13 miles in the 12's due to needed more underfoot as far as cushioning. I feel like now there's enough to tackle any distance. Can't beat the traction, and they dry quicker than other trail shoes I've had. I love how they fit in the heel, it gives a locked down sensation that I don't get with other brands without having to tie differently. Kudo's to Saucony for doing their homework and making positive improvements on the Peregrine.

Nice but not enough arch support
30 April 2023

I like these shoes but had to add in a liner to provide proper arch support. I was looking fwd to the color being accurate like the website shows, but actual shoe color is more of a plum color vrs the warmer red shown on the website. I also got blisters on my heels wearing them the first time since they tend led to move around in my feet until I added the liner arch support.

Not wide, sizing/heel issues
25 March 2023

I got the wide version of these shoes and sized up to 9.5 and they were still way too narrow and not wide at all--and you can tell as soon as you open the box to the point I doublechecked these are wide. Toe went right to the end like a 9. The heel grip was way too tight and horrible, completely uncomfortable out of the box and blister creating for people with actual wide feet. Super disappointed...

Pass on these
15 June 2024

Really wanted these to work, but are super hard on the heel. I got blisters the first few times I wore them. Thought maybe they just needed some breaking in, but I get new tears on my ankle every time I wear them so have stopped using them.

True to size.
28 December 2023

True to size. I read some reviews that said to size up so I did by 0.5, and they are too big. So, I wouldn't again. But they are lightweight, I like that they have the elastics to keep the elastic bands on the laces, and they are very grippy for outdoor running in the winter.
