I consider myself a hobbyist photographer primarily focused on landscape, wildlife and street photography. Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic my outdoor photography has been very limited so I decided to setup a small in-home studio. My intent was to learn still life, tabletop and macro photography. I used the online B&H Explora section as guide to setup my in-home studio. I ordered several rolls of the Savage seamless Background Paper in different colors to use as a background. The paper is high quality, handles light well and is inexpensive. The 36' roll of paper lasts quite a long time. Just be careful when ordering the color white because Savage offers several different shades of white. I ordered the #66 Pure White and yes it is pure white.

The quality of this backdrop is unparalleled, providing a smooth, seamless surface for professional photography needs. The width is fantastic for capturing wide-angle shots, and the length ensures lasting usability. The Super White shade is perfect for creating crisp, clean images, making it a must-have for any photography studio. I highly recommend this product.

Savage background paper is thick enough to not see through. Highly recommend clamps when using with a backdrop bar to prevent it from unraveling completely. If youre using white paper, be sure to wear gloves or have clean hands as it can get dirty with just a touch. The weight of the paper is heavy enough to cause itself to fold or bend. Highly recommend using two sets of hands when setting up to prevent bending or folding. Theres enough to cut away any piece that gets dirty, tears, folds, or bends. With enough distance between the subject matter and the Savage background paper, you cant tell that its actually paper when shooting against it. The shipping box works great for storing right side up (vertical). The 53x36 roll is big enough for one person to move around ... MoreSavage background paper is thick enough to not see through. I was happy with the results in post editing though. Dont waste your time with fabric, ironing out wrinkles, and fold creases. This paper does the trick.

I’ve used this paper for a couple of years now. The quality is excellent. My first role became detached from the cardboard roll that it attaches to, which made things a little tricky. Placing it for full length photos using the floor you have to be careful not to cause any creases, as they’ll show. Having said that the defects are all easily treated in Lightroom or Photoshop. It’s white and footprints are a rule so be prepared.
This brand (Savage) is a leader in photography; but the cost is crazy---for a roll of paper? I mean, come on.Yes, it IS special paper that is far heavier than typical "paper", but backdrop paper overall is overpriced (in my humble opinion). Having said that, Savage is one of the best brands out there, and I got lucky here and found it a little bit cheaper than elsewhere, including shipping costs. The main reason I chose paper over fabric is because with fabric you have to worry about ironing/steaming wrinkles out before using, staining, cleaning, etc., whereas with paper its "no muss, no fuss". Of course there are times when a fabric backdrop is needed, but for my needs this works fine.
Love this Savage background paper! It's exactly what I needed for my portrait photography. The super white creates a clean, even background that makes my subjects really pop. The paper is also thick and feels well-made, so I know it will last a while. Very easy to set up and use. Highly recommend!
I have purchased products from STROBEPRO for a number of years. I find the staff are always helpful in providing production ideas and product information. I have produced commercial videos and still photography for decades. When I have a problem, I need high-level advice. I have referred other professionals to STROBEPRO. It goes without saying they sell quality products. P.S. I love your website!Robyn T. Braley - Brand Specialist, Writer, Speaker
I picked up two of these rolls for a branded shoot and the colors available were close enough for me to work with. I was pleasantly surprised by the paper weight and quality given the price, and would easily buy this brand in the future. 26 is fairly tight, so this size is best for working with small objects. If you're trying to create a small, rounded corner, one length of paper works really well taped between two poster boards, or two replica surfaces arranged in a right angle.
This paper is great, but:I wish it came in 8ft widths. It's not very long, if the background is 10' high, and sweeps 10' forwards for the subject to stand on, it won't last very long. This product triggers a heavy shipping charge. BH has an excellent price, it's expensive to ship with everyone because it's heavy and oversized. My first roll gave me such a bad papercut it drew blood. Be careful when removing the plastic sleeve. The paper is very thick. I wasn't expecting it to be so durable. It didn't wrinkle when models walked on it, but be careful of black marks from shoes. This paper is also heavy. If you're using a temporary backdrop with 2 light stands and a connecting pole, make sure you're holding a clamp (or a friend to support the paper's weight). I am a photographer at an E-commerce photo studio, we've been ordering this Savage Widetone Super White Seamless for years now, and recently they switched from shrink wrapping the roll to just putting the roll in a box. The paper now just detaches from the cardboard core, making the entire roll pretty much un-useable. Not sure if this has something to do with how B&H stores the rolls, or how Savage manufactures the rolls, possibly moisture making the adhesive fail? B&H has replaced a few times now at no charge but still continues to send rolls that are detached and unuseable. Frustrating. Do not buy!!
