What can I say, yet another excellent Thule product. Let’s not confuse improper installation with a poor quality product. For those reading all the reviews, I too experienced a loud whistling after installation. But then I put my thinking cap on and concluded that there’s no way Thule would put out a product that would be so loud. And wouldn’t you know it, I found these rubber strips that were meant to go under the bars to fill the gaps between the bar and the rack clamps. 5 minutes later, some simple measurements and cutting and easy installation and voila! Problem solved. This is a great system that is easy to install and works great with a ski box and kayak racks. Highly recommend. We’ve had ours for 4 years and it is extraordinary!

The products are all top quality and no issues there. The Thule YouTube only video for installation is downright wrong and I wish I had ignored it and just followed the instructions. For example sliding in the rubber sleeves on the top will just bust your knuckles like I did. You just need to press it in.As for the Keys, they suggest you buy keys when you purchase the product, but don't say how many. I bought 2 keys thinking for two racks, but I needed 4, one for each rack attachment. Next it suggested I get locking straps, makes sense cause then it'll all be the same key to unlock them. There were no options to select what lock # i'd be getting so I wrongfully assumed for how much money these are they would send matching locks. They didn't. So I wound up with x2 ... MoreThe products are all top quality and no issues there. There is no way to know what keys to order to match the straps until after the straps arrived. So when they did I wrote down those key #'s and had to order x4 matching keys individually at such a markup compared to the random key # set I previously purchased. It all seemed obviously confusing and needless at the end of the day because there is zero way in hindsight I could have got a matching set of keys from the get go, yet they suggested I buy them up front.Like I said, the product is great, but this experience left me hating the company.

I've owned/had on my car multiple generations of Thule crossbars. Sqare, Aeroblade and now the WingBar Evo. WingBar Evo is a huge upgrade! The installation process has been made so simple - I was able to do it while holding my 18th old daughter. (Well not the the time, but she helped). I love the new method for attaching the foot pack to the bar, its a simple press mechanism that allows you to easily line up the foot pack to the included span measurement tools that are included. The clamping and roof pad attachments improvements are great as well, no longer do you need a wrench and Allen key, simply push them into place and they click when properly installed. Finally, the included 3mn torque wrench with a new oversized handle made the finally step a easy - twist ... MoreI've owned/had on my car multiple generations of Thule crossbars. On the aeroblade, you had to cut the rubber to add in any carriers, the new set up splits the rubber strip in half so you can easily slide in the t-bolts to add my bike carriers. The product team at Thule nailed this new version.

Used a set of WingBar Evos with a 2019 (F86) BMW X6M for several years. Thule offered a fit kit for the bare roof and it worked well. Then, upgraded to a 2023 X6M (F96) thinking it would be no issue to get an updated fit kit for this vehicle. No such luck. Thule still has not released a fit kit for bare roof for this vehicle after three (3) years on the market and over 75,000 of them sold worldwide. Adding insult to injury, they will lie to you about this being "in development" and "in testing" for months on end when its now obvious they have no intention of doing this product. Really disappointed--selling all my Thule gear and moving on from this brand.
I got these for a 2021 Subaru WRX. They fit fine and installation was easy despite the fact that the instructions were lacking. The bars have a built in measuring gauge that you are supposed to match up with listed dimensions for your specific vehicle, but those didn't exist. Neither the instructions for the bars nor for the fit kit included these, and no amount of Googling or searching Thule's site came up with anything. It was still easy enough to install, I just had to measure myself and got zero benefit from their built in tool.Unfortunately, these are pretty noisy on my WRX despite double checking everything about the installation. I ended up putting electrical tape across the entire length of the rubber t-slot gasket, which seems to have resolved the issue. ... MoreI got these for a 2021 Subaru WRX. I ended up putting electrical tape across the entire length of the rubber t-slot gasket, which seems to have resolved the issue. That's not a very elegant solution for a hardware system that cost about $700 all-in. I suspect that this has everything to do with the spacing of the bars and the aerodynamics of each unique vehicle in relation to the bars, so I expect other cars to have different results. All that said, the installation was pretty simple, and the bars are very sturdy. I got these so they would be wide enough to carry a canoe on my relatively small car, and they do the trick for that. If they were quieter, I'd be delighted.
Not used them yet, still got to attach new roof rails to my car, which will be in a while. I am only writing this now so to stop the constant emails from Ebay about reviewing the Bars. The bars look and feel good, I am only giving 3 stars as I have no idea how they will be when I eventually get to use them. I had square bars before, so I have to change my accessories that I used with my old pair to suit the EVO Wingbars. I can see that the extra bits and pieces are not going to be cheap to buy. When I have used my old roof bars, there has been times I left them on the car for long periods, which may well happen again with these new ones, so hoping the Aerodynamic design of these work as well as claimed.
Just bought and installed on a 2020 4Runner. Installing took me around 90 minutes taking my time to do it right (note that there is a YouTube vid that explains how to remove the factory crossbars). They look great and don't make any noticeable additional wind noise. Looking forward to using them with my existing Thule roof box and other accessories. This is the second roof rack that I have purchased from Thule. The first lasted the full 15-year life of the car in the eastern US with road salt and all. Unlike other comments, the instructions worked fine for me. My advice to others is to just take your time to install. Some trial and error required to get them evenly placed etc. Thanks Thule!!
I bought the bare roof system for my Honda Pilot last year. I was very impressed by the solid engineering but also elegant design. Assembly takes a bit of effort, but it is completely worth it! Road/wind noise was pretty much non-existent; I never noticed anything. I also kept my Thule cargo box mounted on the rack for a long time; rack remained sturdy and great. I recently had to remove the racks and was super impressed not to find any nicks or scratches; the rack stayed solidly in place and didn't damage the roof whatsoever! Would absolutely buy again and highly recommend.
I purchased the Thule Wingbar Evo for my suburban a few weeks ago. They arrived quickly. This is a good product, but a few things to note: first, the assembly required, although relatively easy, seems a little silly considering the price of these things. Many of the parts could have been assembled prior to shipping to make for a better customer experience. Second, the rubber strips were problematic for me. This goes back somewhat to the lack of pre-assembly. One of the two strips (after dividing and cutting per instructions) on each wingbar didn't fit very well. After installing my RTT on the bars, the strips became lose. I have pushed them down to make them work, but it's not a smooth fit. Overall, these bars do what they're supposed to, but be aware there is some ... MoreI purchased the Thule Wingbar Evo for my suburban a few weeks ago. They arrived quickly. Like other reviews, the instructions are not particularly easy to follow but this isn't a huge problem. I do think the Rivian mounting kit could have been designed better. I would have made it so the threaded fasteners cannot go all the way through the hole in the small rods. Not knowing how far to screw in the fasteners can result in a certain amount of trial and error before the nuts can be screwed on. The current design also seems to allow for the threaded fastener to turn rather than the nut tightening down. Step 5 of the direction seems confusing and perhaps incorrect to me, the 'click click' happens at the start of fastening the nut until it seats in the plastic locator piece (#54674) rather than at the end. In other words the 'click click' is audible the start of tightening the nut rather than being a signal that it's tight. I am afraid that the plastic locator is a weak point in the design, particularly for anyone like me who plans on taking the bar system off and on their Rivian.I also am not a fan of the process of centering the Evo bars over the feet to ensure the overhang is equal. When you attempt to do this with the bar and feet off the vehicle, it is almost impossible to maintain the spacing when the system is installed.
