I sprayed this two times on my neck (a spritz on each side) and one time on my wrist and rubbed it in around 10am. My nose was immediately met with notes of Bergamot, Cedar, and Sage. Three to four hours later I was getting notes of woody citrus and 8 hours later this smelled fruity and fresh. Upon waking up the next morning, I smelled notes of the initial sprays from the day prior. Overall, this was a pleasant scent with GREAT LONGEVITY (on my skin) as a "daily wear" but I'd rather reach for other YSL fragrances if I'm looking for specific reasons to wear this fragrance house.

On my husband, it goes straight for ginger, incense, and vetiver, all whilst dancing with the bergamot and aldehydes. It's a good cologne on me. On him, it's wickedly brilliant. That's the beauty of Y: it's an art of chemistry, and it becomes very much one's own. It's worth a try, and if it's magic on you, worth the pricetag, too.

Within about 15 minutes, everything begins to blend together a bit more seamlessly, and the potency of the soapiness and sharp spice scent also begin to blend in resulting in a balanced fragrance. On me the scent remains for at least 8 hours, but after 3-4 it has toned down dramatically. As far as the rating goes I personally am not a huge fan of the smell, but that distaste is based on the soapy scent I pick up that is present, and generally liked, in numerous blue fragrances. To that extent I tried to make this review more objective than subjective and on that front this EDT seems to have a good balance and a reasonably high quality feel. I received a bottle of this cologne from Influenster for an honest review. I picked up a bottle of the EDP back in December, it was love at first sniff. This is my first time trying the EDT and I’m loving it so far. The opening is what you’d expect, citrus, aldehydes, and a bit of herbal mint hidden away. The mid and the base notes are the stars of the show though. The drydown ends up turning into this loud apple and clary sage mix with a tiny bit of floral in it that at least to me, evokes this weird nostalgic feeling that reminds me of a mall I used to go to as a kid for some reason? It’s weird! It finally settles down to this light incense-y musk that’s nice and clean. The EDT is lighter, has a strong sillage and projection, and the floral notes stand out quite a bit. The EDP is if you want to go full tilt on the apples and sage. It’s got nuclear projection and sillage, about 8 hours of performance on my skin. I give it a 10/10 with performance and smell, 7/10 for presentation, and a 8/10 on uniqueness. I prefer the EDP for most wear situations because I’m a sucker for the heavier apple and sage notes, but the EDT is so much more versatile and office safe. The fact they’re neck and neck in the performance department make it a good buy regardless if you have the EDP. It’s worth it and I’m going to pick up a backup bottle soon!

This cologne has a clean scent but also has depth. The scent is very fresh when first sprayed, and dries down to be a bit spicy and warm without being overpowering. I sprayed this cologne on my boyfriend, but also decided to test it on myself. On me the geranium notes are more noticeable when it was first sprayed, while on my boyfriend the lavender came through stronger. On both of us it dried down to a scent that was equal parts amber and spice with hints of sage and a very slight woody note. On my boyfriend, this dry down was a little bit more fresh while on me it smelled a bit darker.
