A classic I had 25 years ago too but massively improved in comfort and durability. Be careful, sizes are big. I normally have a 42 but for this shoe its 41

Bought these a month a go and they not as i expected for the price. They are very sturdy which makes them a little stiff and heavy to skate in so it's hard to 'feel' the board - however the sole is good quality and hasn't worn too much. Also good for high impact jumping - HOWEVER - every time i put them on i hear a little rip where the seam joins at the back and it's starting to fail - on both sides. I go through a pair of laces each time i skate - like the lace holes are too far on the sides or something. On other shoes usually my laces last a couple of months. The over all look is bulky and because of the style of the half cab your pants will sit on top of the ankle hole which is not the style i like.

As far as vans go these are very comfortable, much easier to slip on and off than high tops. But offer more support and protection than old schools. The look isn't for everyone but I really like them. They're chunky and stylish just like me. Perfect for biking and one wheeling.
I have owned quite a few half cab and love skating in them. I just don't understand why Vans doesn't make more mid height skate shoes! And no stripe?!
The shoes are really comfortable and have really nice ankle support. I skate them a lot and they are really nice. I recommend these for skating.
Love the new design heaps better
I've skated Half Cabs exclusively for several years now. I rotate a chill pair that becomes my skate pair when they work in. Just after I went to them a few years back, they changed them up. Not as good as the ones they'd had for years and years (now stiffer), but still workable. These new ones are SO tight I could never wear them, and they don't stretch well because Vans wanted to save a few nickels so they replaced some suede with canvas. So sad. You ruined my forever shoe.Way to go Vans, you "fixed" something that wasn't broken, twice, and the second time made it literally impossible for me to continue wearing them. Way, WAY too narrow.
best skate shoes I've ever worn the most comfortable and durable shoes I've ever had
these shoes are really nice. they are pretty comfortable. my only problem is that they are pretty expensive but other then that i have no problem :-)
